With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is D1sable, the winner of the 2013/14 Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league.

De Gea/Hamer
Filipe Luis, Chester, Moore, Cameron, Mariappa
Sterling, Ramsey, Albrighton, Sigurdsson, Mata
Rooney, Diego Costa, Dzeko

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back,  just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later.  He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Your opinion on this draft ?

    Bego - Gilks
    Evans - Luis - Bavies - Ferdinand - Wisdom
    Sanchez - Mata - Fab - Siggy - Albrighton
    Rooney - Costa - Austin

I'm having doubt about Bavies playing time, is there any nailed on player at the same price ?

I like the triple Chelsea and United Coverage and your keeper choices. B Davies may not be nailed on, yes. There's also C Davies and Ward. Or you could upgrade Ferdinand to Caulker and pick a different 4.5 like Pocognoli.

I don't like your QPR players. Luis is 100% nailed on imo. Until Man U bring in a quality centre back and an experienced full back, I can't see Man U keeping many CS, you could always switch to Debuchy once Arsenal's fixtures improve. I'd downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey and Evans to a 4.5, then try and improve Austin.

It really depends on how well you think Costa will adapt. A is objectively the better and more high scoring set of players, though I imagine you're benching Albrighton and so you'll rotate Banjo based on fixtures.

Fab will be a good option in the short term due to his set piece duties, which apparently Leicester are really vulnerable to, so he should get a couple of assists. Over time I think he'll lose ground to Hazard.

I like it overall. Perhaps you're putting a little too much into defence though, and could downgrade one of your bench defenders because your starters could simply be left in for every game.

Is your plan to rotate between Hoilett, Banjo and Sig? I don't know if any of them will produce consistently in all honesty.

If you need funds for another move, you could also downgrade Yaya to Silva and use the cash to upgrade either Fabregas, Dzeko or Hoilett.

Im not soo happy with bojan upfront but i dont like the 6.5 or 6 mio strikers...so I thought I just take the cheap one.

Well still one week to go and the weekend will show most of the lineups for the start. So probabely some changes will come in anyway.

Sterling is a bit of a risk. But he may be explosive from the off. I think Hazard should be there. 200 points the last 2 seasons with Costa more prolific than Torres/Eto. Lose Bruce as he isnt nailed, try Moore from Leicester. I like it tho

Love the presence of Sterling and the tripling of United and Chelsea. I think your team is perfectly fine as it is, though you might want to drop Albrighton for another 4.5 like Wanyama or Marney, purely because his high ownership at the start could lead to a value drop. Of course, that's only an issue if you want to trade him in at some point.

    Hazard - Mata - Ramsey - Puncheon - (Albrighton)

    3-4-3

Liverpool is actually one of my least favourite teams, mostly due to their extraordinarily annoying fans who worship such an underachieving club and continually think next year will be their year. Suarez gave me even more reason to dislike them and I felt schadenfreude at their failure last year.

I am rather partial to Sterling though, since I'm a QPR fan.

I'm in Australia. My league is a $30 buy in. 20 goes into the pot for the classic league and 10 for the H2H. League has roughly 20 people so 400 for the classic split out 250-100-50, and 200 for the H2H split out 150-50.

      I agree B is better.

Joetivic is good in preseason but preseason doesn't carry much weight since most other teams are not playing starters. He looks good but the sample size is small. Plus what happens when negredo and aguero come back - he won't play much.

Lukaku is a beast, he will score 10+ goals.

Hazard is a beast, he possibly has better help this year with fabergas and costa.

Absolutely, chelsea most likely will keep cleanies in the first two. But let's face it - no one knows who's the first choice back 4. I don't want to spend 6+ on a defender only to have him play 1 out of the 2 games. Would rather wait 2-3 weeks and bring in one of Luis/Azpi even if they have risen in price to 6.5

I think consensus on here is that Gamboa most likely won't start from GW1, and even if he does, he will play as a wingback in a 3-5-2, leaving Wisdom nailed on as an RCB in the back 3.

Third striker is a 4.5 filler

B Davies is a bit of a worry at this stage. If I were you I'd flip to C Davies or Ward.

City mids are fair enough; they're expensive and there's no indication who's going to fire. I'd definitely have one of the Chelsea mids, perhaps making a couple sacrifices elsewhere to trade Eriksen for Fabregas.

Paulinho isn't the most popular choice but he is at a great price. He starts, he attacks goal, and he can assist. He's fast, and has a high work rate. At 7.0 mids he's on of the top picks for me

I'll look into modifications as noted in the defence.

Your defense is far too expensive! I can see the approcah you have taken but there are ways to downgrade that defense and still be effective like terry/cahill for Ward then upgrade paulinho who def shouldnt be there. If you want to take a punt on pelle fair enough but i would downgrade him to austin or bojan then use them funds agin to upgrade that midfield

Siren - Just a thought about Sterling. With Liverpool in the Champs league, he will not play 2 games in a week. Rodgers will look after him. I reckon he'll be saved for the champions league and the big prem games only. Just my opinion of course

It's entirely possible, especially with the plethora of options in midfield. But he is young, full of energy and has no real fitness or injury problems right now. Gerrard might be rotated due to age and Lallana isn't back yet. So at least to start with, Sterling will be the midfield linchpin and he's in blistering form against half-decent defences. If he does well from the beginning, he might just make himself irreplacable.

    Guzan (Given)
    Kompany, Terry, Shaw (Bartley, Bruce)

Strangely, I don't have a lot of confidence in our defence atm. Everything hinges on whether Coleman will be fit for the start of the season. We were forced to play Hibbert against Celta Vigo and they tore him apart. IF Coleman is fit and raring to go, different story and Baines is a good pick.

thank you, I like Baines as a defender who I would never bench regardless of fixture, his points haul isn't depended on the team keeping a CS.

I feel like Everton could win 3-2 or 2-1 and he would still get a good score without a CS.

Same thing with Shaw at MUFC when he plays, points are given for forward runs this season which is vital in my thinking.

Someone do a post on forward runs. It looks like they won't deliver big BPS only +1, and you get -1 for being dispossessed, so it comes down to successful dribbles. I think the big winner from the rule changes will be mids "in the hole". My whole midfield is full of them.

My problem with having a set 3-5-2 is if one of your mids doesn't perform, it's likely that everyone with that 3rd good striker is outscoring you. You can get a decent team that offers you 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. I had for a while with:

          Krul, Mannone
          Terry, Davies, 4.5, 4.5, 4.0
          Ramsey, Mata, Siggy, Eriksen, Young
          Rooney, Costa, Jovetic.

If Young nails down a spot, he offers that 3-5-2

although not sure on Austin (Long or Crouch are the same money).

I may take you up on the O'shea advice, Van Aanholt is a bit of a risk I guess. Lamela is an absolute punt but I have a bit more faith in him than Eriksen looking at the preseason.

I think that Austin stands a bit of a chance if he's played with Remy, it won't be a bad little team up if QPR can keep hold of him.
