With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back, just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later. He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

  My opinion is Yaya is overpriced. I just don't see Yaya and Bojan matching a combo of Eriksen/Mata/Silva and Dzeko/Bony/Pelle though. Your call though.

Should i keep Sanchez and a 5-6M striker, or get Costa and pick up possibly Fabregas or Ramsey? Or even go De Jong or Tadic? Sanchez classified as a midfielder is tempting.

Can somebody with some sanity talk to me about Southampton.

There seems to be a lack of RMT's with any players from Southampton, yet on the good old RMT predictor, we've got some good points and value from them.

In particular the new boys from the Eredivisie.

7.5 million for Pelle, scorer of 23 goals last season and Tadic, scorer of 16 goals and creator of 133 chances! These are numbers that deserve probably a little more attention than they are getting. As it stands ownership for the afore mentioned is at 3.8% and 1.8% respectively.

Are these already good shouts for differentials?

Now, I must be missing something if nobody else has noticed this. Are people just being overly cautious because of the whole upheaval at the Saints? New manager and 5 big players leaving would normally, and rightly so, set alarm bells ringing. But for some reason my Fantasy Footy Sense (FFS copyrighted :-)) isn't going off and I'm on the edge of dropping one if not both into my initial team.

Now I've rationalised this by convincing myself of Koemans attacking intent, (At Feyenoord he averaged over 2 goals a game) and how well other Eredivisie players have, in particular Mr. Eriksen and Mr Suarez when under the right stewardship, taken to the Premiership.

So please, the sane of you out there, can you let me in on the main reason why Southampton are being avoided?

P.S at the minute I've got Clyne, and am happy to hear that Foster is on his way from Celtic for £10 mill. Unless you can convince me otherwise!

  I think the hesitation is due to the much lower quality of the league that they are performing in, the question over how quickly they might adapt to the EPL, and (as you point out) the fact that Saints have had all their best performing players bought out. Definitely ones to monitor but IMO no need to take those punts in week 1.

  It depends. Saints have always sold their best players and promoted from within. With this in mind i have brought in Davis, who takes SOME set pieces and seems set to figure regularly. Him or Ward-Prowse. As for the new guys...i havenmt heard of either. I dont care if they came from Serie A or La Liga....i still wouldnt put them in unless the rocked it in pre season

  Not convinced by Cameron. Not sure he's nailed on.
  
  Probably going to try and rob your midfield! The only debate I have is Eriksen to Lamela.
  
  Not convinced by Costa at all. Pricey and I don't think he'll be the main (points) scorer at Chelsea. Like Bojan, but unproven What helps is that other players in his price bracket give options e.g Nugent and Long if he does let you down.

    Going to see who starts against Valencia on Tuesday. I like the attacking returns Shaw could provide as Wing Back in the first ten fixtures just worried about who starts.

  Hmmm, I like that a lot actually. I'm a little unsure of Sterling but he has some upside and the Ramsey/Eriksen/Mata trio is studly. Bojan in a rotation with Siggy is solid.
  
  Keep an eye on Simpson though, with the signing of Isla, his place is under threat and you've already got a couple of other doubts in your backline with Hutton/Wisdom.

    Well I do like Nasri 🙂 (in FPL terms) think he's under-rated on here. And concerned Eriksen may get pushed wide with Lamela in the hole.

      I agree Nasri is very underrated.
      
      Eriksen was a LM under Sherwood, keep that in mind. He just had license to roam and Pocchetino does like a free-flowing and unrestricted attack.

  Liverpool is a minefield honestly. Sterling and Sturridge the standouts but one is competing with Eriksen, Ramsey, Sanchez, Hazard, Fabregas and Mata for a spot and the other is overpriced
  
  looks good, not sold on Bojan and Lamela may not start every game, especially if they get Depay
  
  also I've HEARD that Chester isn't nailed but I'm not sure
  
  and you already know everything about Debuchy by now I'm sure

    Think Chester played in euro game, though so did Bruce which would free up 0.5. Will decide between Erikson and Lamela depending on team news.
    
    I've not heard anything about Debouchy; what have I missed?

      nothing big, just that Arsenal's defense won't be as good with Mert being rested and that he's a card magnet. also that while he may have more attacking intent than Sagna, his passing isn't as good as it pertains to BAPS
