The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is our fixtures specialist Roscola.

Begovic – (Gilks)
Azpilicueta – Evans – van Aanholt – (Wisdom – Bartley)
Mata – Fabregas – Ramsey – Sterling – Sigurdsson
Rooney – Costa – (Zamora)

Roscola admits his team has a major flaw in that it is potentially benchless. He says though that he’s happy for QPR striker Bobby Zamora never to play, because this is a 3-5-2 that reverts to four at the back for first sub. He believes that there are more points available in the budget bracket in defence than further upfield. Sticking with this basic strategy he is looking for advice to find extra funds to invest in his bench. Downgrading Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City’s Samir Nasri is one option he is considering.

      I would not want A newcastle keeper. Only 15CS in last 2 seasons together..

      And too much money tied up at the defense, Debuchy is bad value, downgrade him to a 4.5, maybe Lovren too. Upgrade Azpi to Cahill.
      Else looks fine, but Costa > Giroud.

    Okay…..I think this is the final draft after the following changes:

    Cahill to Luis & Dummet to Coloccini (Was thinking of Bruce to Chester?)

    Guys I love this team but I'm 0.5 over:

    Foster, Krul
    Luis, Jones/Evans, 4.5, 4.5, Bartley (which defenders would rotate well with the others?)
    Rambo, Mata, Sterling, Eriksen, Sidgy
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    Was maybe thinking do this:
    Rambo, Mata and Bojan for Sanchez, Jovetic and Albrighton, or maybe just a straight swap somewhere.

      Sanchez and Jovetic are sort of unknown quantities so I'd stick with Ramsey and Mata

        Maybe instead of 2 4.5 have Wisdom and 4.5 who would rotate well with Bartley?

      Maybe put one of the 4.5s down to 4? It's a very strong midfield, whilst Siggy and Bojan rotate well.

      Else looks fine, though IMHO Sturridge is just too expensive, getting Sterling would do you better.

    Concerns are my defenders, a bit weak maybe? Luis is a rotation risk? Bojan is also a concern, could be a major fail?

      Looks pretty good to me! Wisdom for the first game then you can just play taylor for a couple after that and reassess.

      Like the keepers, assuming they rotate very well.
      Lusting for Cahill myself 🙂 Hendo could turn out to be a good value pick.

      Not overly convinced with Dzeko myself, but whatever floats your boat.

    A little advice please guys. Currently:

    Krul / Foster

    Evans / F.Luis / Wisdom / PVA / NTaylor

    Mata / Hazard / Ramsey / Siggy / Hendo

    Costa / Rooney (c) / Bojan.

    - Swans/Stoke rotation 352/343.

    However i'm concerned on the lack of Liverpool coverage. Do you think i should:

    A. Keep the above.
    B. Hazard/Hendo > Sterling/Eriksen.
    C. Hazard/Hendo > Sterling/Coutinho.

          lamela, bojan, jovetic, odemwingie all punts for different reasons. i wouldn't feel comfortable with more than 2.

          - Shaw's unfit at the moment.
          - Cameron / Odemwingie's game time is questionable.
          - Jovetic also seems short term pick.

          You could lower shaw to Evans/Jones to save .5.
          Sanchez to Ramsey saves you another 1.5.

          Gives you 2 mil right there to improve Odemwingie for example.

    Quite happy, my concerns are Davies and Wisdom ? Would it be better to have two 4.5 defenders who rotate well ?
