The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

    Alright I think she's set. My main concern here is the lack of Arsenal coverage. I'd like to shoehorn Ramsey in there, but I want to keep the balance. Anything else I should be worried about?

      I like this one. If u really want Ramsey, u could get Bojan instead of Dzeko and sell siggy for rambo

        Thanks Daelrhos. I really don't believe in Bojan given his track record, though that thought has crossed my mind multiple times. At the end of the day I think Dzeko is a safer bet to outscore Ramsey (he's been steady for years and should get regular playtime for the first few months), and I'd rather punt on Siggy than Bojan. I'd consider Austin over Siggy, but then I'd rather have Dzeko than someone like Nasri, etc. Anyways I'm rambling at this point, thanks again.

          Lot of stuff on your mind 🙂 Take in consideration that last season Dzeko was constant in the last third. But true, he's a viable option.

    Almost set 🙂 Was a bit worried about no city cover so Navas in but I'm unsure of play time. Also Cahill or Terry? Worried Terry may be dropped now and again due to age and now they have some extra back cover. 0 in bank.

          As a city fan i would not pick Navas based on his form last season. Hopefully he will do better this season though.

    Hey guys, would really appreciate it if I could get some advice on this squad?

    Cahill Debuchy Caulker (van-Aanholt Mariappa)

    Hazard Mata Ramsey Siggy (El-Ahmadi)

    Costa Rooney Bojan

    Also not too sure about these couple of things:

    1. Cahill/Azpi? Mourinho favours Azpi but Cahill for the clean sheets?
    2. Mariappa has a potential injury and rotation risk?
    3. El Ahmadi or another 4.5 Mid? (Albrighton injured?)

        Mariappa is injured and a doubt for position anyway. Go with Ward and downgrade Van-A to a 4.0 - Hutton/ Moore

    My first RMT:

    Begovic / Gilks

    Evans / Clyne / Ward / Wisdom / Moore

    Mata / Lamela / Ramsey / Fábregas / Sigurdsson

    Rooney (C) / Diego Costa / Bojan

    Some options/thoughts:

    Fabregas -> Sterling and upgrade Evans to Luis Or Moore to 4,5. But I think Cesc will do well at the start. Chelsea defender looks good, but can´t fund Cahill and Luis doesn´t convince me

    Sigurdsson -> Davis to rotate with Bojan. 1M to upgrade Cesc to Hazard.

    Lamela/ Eriksen: monitoring this... team is so template that wanting even some differentials.

    Moore -> any 4M you think better??

    Been messing around with the dregs of my defence all day!

    -Chambers. Know he will start GW1. Time to see if Marriappa/ Stoke 4.5 gets a start
    -Left NEW and SUND all their 'good' fixtures seem to be away
    -QPR. Have Austin so want involvement else where
    -4.0 Wisdom. Just need him to play, not planning in being in my first 11 too much
