The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team†(RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

        £0.5 is saved to move Giroud in when that occurs. I can then switch Fab/Rambo to Silva depending on respective performances at that time.

      Quick scenario... you've got your GW1 transfer planned out, but Bojan is falling in price. What's your solution.

      If you think price hit, do you think Johnson is likely to outscore Siggy by 4 points in the first gameweek?

      if you do want to plan to transfer that player first week other possibilities are Puncheon, Lennon, Snodgrass.

    (Myhill - Wisdom - Hutton - Bent) Doubled up on West Brom keepers as I am happy to play Foster every week.

    Bank is empty and although my bench isn't great think the starting 11 is fairly strong.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

        Yeah, I think he is a good option for the bench and no risk at all for that price 🙂

      I wouldn't waste money on DDG. there's hardly any point difference at the end of the season between to the top teams keepers and lower teams. Lower teams often score more.

      That defence needs suring up aswell

      Sorry but i don't like your defence & midfield. With utd & chelsea's fixs, I would be soooo nervous with no hazard & no mata... Chambers could be a bargain, but how long before he's benched? Will Ivan rotate with cahill @ centre half? How lamela will play is also very much TBD & Spurs fixs dont exactly scream for investment.

      Love the forward line tho & would add the caveat that your team as it is above could end up top scoring team in the whole game for all i know 🙂

      I reckon you can downgrade one of the defenders (e.g. Trippier) to create some funds. I think 3 Arsenal forwards is a little risky with their fixtures. I prefer Hendo and Siggy to Johnson and Shelvey but that's a matter of personal preference.

      Welcome!

      Think you could do the following to improve your team. Assuming that you are playing a 3-4-3

      1- Upgrade Cameron to a 5 million defender as he isn't nailed on to start.

      2 - Your midfield is a little weak, Johnson and Shelvey will probably frustrate you with inconsistency. I would downgrade Giroud to a cheaper forward and Sanchez to Erikson to free up money. 
      Then you can upgrade Johnson and Shelvey to Sterling and Siggurdson etc.

      Just my opinion but hope it helps!

    Trying to decide whether I should downgrade from Koscielny to Debuchy to free up another .5 to add to my .5 already in order to upgrade Johnson. Also, Terry or Cahill? And is having a heavy hitting striker core good, or should i go for a better midfield? Any feedback would be appreciated

      Would try and get a Chelsea defender in there somehow, maybe for Jagielka.

      Like the Gerrard pick, he is definitely unique this year and will take all penalties and lots of free kicks. Even if there are less without Suarez.

      Sterling looks really impressive but Gerrard could outscore him. Something I am considering too.
      Young is never nailed on and wouldn't pick him.

      Indeed sterling over Gerrard IMO. I do think that there are better and cheaper options than Koscielny and Jagielka considering the latters fixtures and that u have Szczesny. That would free up some cash. I am also not convinced young will get game time.

    thinking of trying to jiggle some finances around bojan huth ward prowse, to perhaps get Evans (low ownership potential huge price increase given utd's start) and a better midfielder, bojan is the 6th most popular striker on FPL and could sink in value if off to a poor start

      With Bertrand joining it looks like Targett is not going to start anymore - Clyne and Bertrand will be Southampton's backs, so I would find another 4M.

      Ward-Prowse's role also in question so might want a re-think there. If he is going to ride the pines, you could get Albrighton.
