With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Krul (Foster)
Shaw – Lovren – Cameron (Davies, N Taylor)
De Jong – Lamela – Mata – Sterling (Sigurdsson)
Rooney – Costa – Austin

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Begovic (Kruul) - fitting swaps until gw 14 or something.
    Clyne Taylor Chambers Evans Manquillo
    Hazzard Eriksen Ramsey Huddlestone Mata
    Rooney Bojan Adebayor

Thoughts: A bit weak on top but think ade can make an early impact due to new manager and a more set midfield. Rooney captain material but missing out on Costa thought not yet proven. Could swap with hazzard and trade down in midfield but not plenty of options.

Could go dzeco over ade but its more short term and man c face a hard start and could well be few points, not great in com shield either.

Happy with my GK and there rotation and with the defence more or less aswell If manquillo should start.

Any thoughts ideas for swaps would be greatly appriciated.

My team looks like this now:

    De Gea (Krul)
    Lovren Caulker Clyne (Cameron Duff)
    Mata Sterling Ramsey Lamela (Rodwell)
    Rooney (c) Costa Bojan

If I put Myhill in for Krul and a 4.5 mid in for Rodwell where in my squad should I use the extra money?

    Thanks 🙂

Very similar to mine, your bench is a bit of a worry though as you can't really rotate with those players. 6 out of 10 - would probably need to upgrade your bench.

Sorry for the Repost but had no replies earlier,

    Begovich (Myhill)

    Terry Debuchy Evans (Wisdom Hutton)

    Mata Ramsey Hazard Siggy (Marney)

    Rooney Costa Austin

I've jumped off the Bojan bandwagon, rightly or wrongly the 16% ownership seems to me that if he flops the price drop will be quite severe

Also seen a lot of talk about isgrove for saints, is he a starter where would he be in the team over ward-prowse davis?

Ok my first go at a RMT:

    Krul (Elliot)
    Luis Shaw Caulker (Hutton) (Duff)
    Fabregas, Ramsey, Eriksen, Mata (Albrighton)
    Rooney, Costa, Long

Obviously with those GKs I will be playing Krul every gameweek but I think out of the 4.5s he has the best fixtures and can change when they get harder. Am I mad?

Definitely not C. Barkley ownership very high and GW2-3 looking very though on them. Might see price drop. A or B is up to you. Eriksen ownership is already high, so you risk less in terms of price drop with Lamela. However, I don't know a lot about how Lamela will perform..

    RMT:

    Pantilimon or Mannone (Krul)

Lovren / Evans / Caulker (Bartley / Hutton)

Fabregas / Sterling / Ramsey / Young (Sigurdsson)

    Rooney / Costa / Jovetic

Foolish for picking Young and Jovetic? Probably, but it'd be a short-term punt.

I know Jovetic and Young are punts, but they should start the first few gameweeks unless they performed terribly. Regarding Liverpool, gameweeks 2 and 3 are difficult, but after that there's a decent run of games for them. I can't defend Krul other than he rotates well with Sunderland. A punty team, but ok for a few gameweeks until we know which players are performing well (one of which might be in this team :/ wishful thinking)

I'm not convinced about Arsenal coverage for the first few gameweeks. They face Everton, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea in the first seven gameweeks as well as a season opener against a defensively solid Crystal Palace. Is it worth holding on until after gameweek 7?

      Krul and Begovic rotate well.
Would spend that extra 0.5m on Siggy or Mutch.
Also think you could swap out Cahill & Bruce for a better pair - Chelsea will keep clean sheets but as you say with rotations, there could be options to take two cheaper defenders in rotation.

    Green (Krul)
    Cahill Wisdom Debuchy (Naughton/Hutton)
    Ramsey Mata Hazard Henderson (Wanyama)
    Rooney Sturridge Bojan

Not sure bout Wisdom but looks like he will start or maybe start Naughton with Walker out. As outlined earlier Bojan could be the next Boselli. Have 7(ish) big hitters & 4 decent options to complete the 11 starters.

Third go at this... Would appreciate thoughts.

    De Gea, Gilks
    Isla, Chambers, Davies (Clyne, Janmaat)
    Fabregas, Tadic, Eriksen, Mata (Sigurdsson)
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    - Gone slightly left-field with defenders but I've checked the rotations and they work well enough. Fair assist potential in there too as they're mostly wing-backs.
    - De Gea is keeper for the first 8 or so weeks so no need for backup.
    - Will probably sub out Chambers for a 4.5 Stoke defender after GW1 or GW2.
    - Tadic could pick up something at leaky Liverpool then gets a relatively good run. Was also looking at Gaston Ramirez, but that would almost be more punty than Tadic 😉
    - I know everyone seems to have the same front three but for the first six weeks they should just work.

Ta for the reply. Think Tottenham are worth a go for the first couple of weeks, away at West Ham without a striker then at home to QPR. QPR have good home games, and Chambers an early punt before trading out for another 4.5, probably Cameron or Naylor

Alright folks. I did some tweaking and am pretty settled on this initial squad, but would love some thoughts. Because I'm the defending champion in my league, the first two weeks of the new season double as a cup-style mini-tournament for some additional prize money, so my lineup is constructed with an emphasis on some initial returns and also long-term stability. Looking to play a 3-4-3 most weeks. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

    DeGea (5.5), Gilks (4.0)
    Filipe Luis (6.0), Davies (5.0), Hutton (4.0), Moore (4.0), S. Taylor (4.0)
    Hazard (10.0), Mata (9.0), Silva (9.0), Coutinho (8.0), Albrighton (4.5)
    Rooney (10.5), Giroud (8.5), Jovetic (8.0)

I considered Adebayor in place of Giroud, but want a piece of the Arsenal attack and I'm not sold on Spurs' plans for the lone striker role.

    Cahill Caulker Clyne (Cameron Duff)
Mata Sterling Ramsey Lamela (El Ahmadi)
    Rooney (c) Costa Bojan

I am not convinced about Arsenal coverage for the first few gameweeks. They face Everton, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea in the first seven gameweeks as well as a season opener against a defensively solid Crystal Palace. Is it worth holding on until after gameweek 7?

    For this team:

    Krul / Foster
    **** / Ferdinand / Cameron / Naylor / Duff
    **** / ***** / Mata / Lamela / Isgrove
    Roony / Costa / Austin

    Which option would you prefer?

    A) Sanchez Fabregas Evans
    B) Ramsey Hazard Luis

A for sure for me. Luis is not a banker in terms of starting.

    I'm done. 🙂

    DDG
    Debuchy Luis PVA
    Nasri Eriksen Ramsey Mata(vc) Siggy
    Rooney(c) Costa

    Gilks Bobby Z Hutton Bruce

    0.5m bank

Early season will monitor Liverpool. Can bring in Coutinho/Sterling at one of Mata/Nasri/Eriksen's expense easily. An extra 0.5m saved might even run with Lovren as third def.

Will keep an eye on Siggy too. Maybe a 6.0m striker might prove to be better. Who knows at this stage!

For me the only nailed on Chelsea defender is Cahill - I wouldn't risk Luis.

      How about my issue:

Best way to fill the last 2 spots - I have 14.5m in the bank:

      Mata, Rambo, Fabregas, Wanyama, MF
      Costa, Rooney, FW

I think he'll play more often than not. Only has Azpi to compete, and Mourinho has said he wants him at RB. We'll see..

For you.. Sterling/Nasri/Eriksen for Pool/City/Spurs cover + 6.0m FW? You'll have to play the 6.0m every week..

I don't like any strikers outside of Rooney/Costa, hence my 3-5-2.

Actually, Giroud and 6.0m mid would work, benching Wanyama? Snoddy/Siggy? Gives you a double up of three title favs, not so silly. 🙂
