There may be under a week left under the 2014/15 season gets underway but for many Fantasy managers, the midfield dilemma is yet to be resolved. In the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, in particular, the player price list has handed us numerous options to consider for our five-man midfields, with ten players coming in at 9.0 or over:

In this, our latest article for members, we take a look at four of the main contenders – Eden Hazard, Aaron Ramsey, Juan Mata and Raheem Sterling – currently on Fantasy radars.

Sterling has netted in two of his last four appearances and, after notching nine times last term, is backed by many to step up for Liverpool after Luis Suarez’ departure. Ramsey’s 10 goals and nine assists in just 23 appearances last season has catapulted the Welshman into the premium bracket at 9.0, with his strike in yesterday’s Community Shield handing us a timely reminder of his talents. Mata (9.0) has been one of Louis van Gaal’s star performers in the role in “the hole†in a new 3-4-1-2 formation, whilst the 10.0-priced Hazard, despite only returning to pre-season action last week, sits in 22% of squads ahead of fixtures against promoted pair Burnley and Leicester in his first two fixtures.

Casting an eye back to last season, then, we delve into the data and compare their respective displays. First up, we assess each player’s creativity and distribution.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

The Siggi Henderon poll is by far the closest yet.
Only about 20 votes in but its neck and neck, all the

      Make a Ward memorial poll.

We get to vote on our favourite moments shared with him.

Whether it's his clean sheets kept.

      Bonus points gained.

Or his warm smile he always had.

      He shall be missed. x

''Everton grabbed their first win of pre-season today in a behind-closed-doors friendly with a Sheffield Wednesday eleven.

Both Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas got a 45 minute run-out ahead of this weekend’s opening day clash with Leicester City, with Lukaku scoring a brace to help his confidence.

Everton have been without a win in pre-season as fitness and conditioning take a front seat in preparations, but a 4-1 win in a training game and two goals for our record signing won’t hurt.

With many Evertonians worried about the absence of our Belgian stars, news that they are getting some sort of match practise will be welcome''

    Morning Gentlemen,

I am still truffling with my defence, has anyone got time it chip in with some ideas? I have 33.5M to spend on keepers and defenders and the current setup looks like this:

    Krul | Elliot
    Luis | Clyne | Chester | Taylor | Caulker

Ignoring what I have already, can you think of a way to spend this money more effectively?

I am happy with Krul/Elliot, in which case there is 25mil to be spent on the 5 defenders:

      Cahill - Evans - Chester - Taylor - Wisdom

Which conveniently happens to be my defence 😛

haha what your lifestyle must be like!

I had Luis for ages but just can't be sure on his starting. as a newcastle fan I have an inbuilt mechanism that makes me doubt our defence, we haven't strengthened in this department at all so I can't be sure over krul/elliot

is the Taylor you're meaning Steven? if so change him, barely featured in our back line plans pre season.

I should probably elaborate...I have A because I believe they are going to start the season better (despite B having more Chelsea players). Costa is still new to the premier league, and don't underestimate that fact, it took a magnificent striker such as Bony a long time to get adjusted last season. Hazard's lack of a pre season will surely work against him, no matter how much of a beast he is. Fabregas has been in terrific form and usually starts the season well (anyone remember the GW1 where he got over 15 points?) and despite joining from La Liga, he has an abundance of experience in the prem, so is likely to settle in nicely. Sturridge has had some concerns over pre season, but none have been issues with his form. He is a terrific GW1 captain option and is likely to get Golden Boot provided Sergio Aguero spends some more time in the medical tent.

very good ! Though I don't get the DDG pick. I don't see many save bonuses. In 3 seasons, he's had a total of 2 bonus, despite 12-11-13 clean sheets. Mannone got 16 last season. Seems needlessly expensive and unnecessary, especially when nailed on defenders are rare, so spending more on that area is a better idea...

Hey guys, first team of the year. Would be grateful to hear what you think please:

    Foster / Mannone
    Luis Davies Vlaar Cameron (Bruce)
    Mata Fabregas Ramsey Sigurdson Albrighton
    Costa Giroud/Dzeko Rooney

Alternative is Giroud/Albrighton > Bojan/Barkley and play either 3-5-2 / 3-4-3 but I hear Bojan is not nailed and Barkley has a minor injury.

I am guessing this is pretty “template”, but that’s probably not a bad thing early on. Any thoughts would be much appreciated – it is concerning to see no Yaya/Hazard/Sanchez....but I have realised you can’t have them all! Thanks in advance guys, and Fabregas looks on fire ahead of Hazard at the minute
