The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

    Chambers has started to come into my thoughts given that both Kosc and Merts are flagged. Mert looks like he won't be back for a couple of games so is chambers worth a punt early on given that his value could go up a bit with a couple of clean sheets and his low price?

      Eriksen is actually pretty standard. Young is being picked up quite a bit himself. So all in all, nothing unusual on your team.

      The only thing I would change is dump the United defender for someone else.

          1. LvG isn't the best at clean sheets.
          2. United aren't the best at clean sheets.
          3. Shaw and Evans may both miss the first match,

        Everton can keep a clean sheet against anyone and if they get a goal it's more than likely that Baines is involved.

        I am taking a gamble that Ramsey will be deeper once Ozil returns. Therefore I've gone with Sanchez. If Sanchez fails it's easier to downgrade to Rams then to upgrade to Sanchez.

      Leave out Everton for a bit. Their fixtures are killer >:D

      Get in Costa for sure and a Chelsea defender too.

      United have it easy for a while, so Mata (Not Herrera) is a good bet.

      I'll try to help mate: too much spent on keepers look to spend no more then 9.5 on both. I'd suggest Begovic and Krul. Downgrade Baines to terry and shawcross to pieters. A qpr defender isn't worth 5 look for better options at 4.5. Schurrle isn't grunted to start but could be a good differential. Herrera play defensive mid so won't score many points. Try get siggurdsen instead of Shelvey. After downgrading elsewhere try to get Austin to Rooney. Other then that looks fine 😀

      Vlaar -> Ward

      Schurrle -> Fabregas

      Herrera -> Young/Sterling/Eriksen

      And I would strongly suggest you incorporate Rooney and Costa into your team. Cheers!

      Clichy started in the CS over Kolarov. So there's that rotation risk.

      You can upgrade Hazard to Fabregas (yes, upgrade) an use that money to upgrade Kolarov to Cahill (yes, Cahill) if you wish 🙂
