The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

      Well its a strong 352 formation but I just think Zamora is a complete waste of space. You really need to have a better sub IMO. Its hard to look past Albrighton really, I know he's injured but if we find out its only minor then I think he's the better bet for a 343 formation.

          You need to spend at least 8m. Plenty of options up there.

    I know my defence is weak, but taking a punt this week with next few weeks in mind, and I never usually have any big hitters in defence, only cheap almost certain starters

      Yep apart from your defence its strong. Loving your strike force, they'll more than make up for your two weak defenders every week.

    Im set on my MID and FOR. Just the defence is what is getting to me 🙂
    Have a budget of 23.5 and came up with this

    Lovren/Caulker/Ward/Moore/Duff

      Defence is hard to work out. It looks solid and well rounded though. Personally I'd consider finding a way to upgrade Lovren to a Chelsea defender (Cahill, Terry or Ivan)

      Yep I like the rotation idea between Flech and Siggy so I'd say your mid and fwds are strong. Your defence looks solid too so I have no complaints really. However there is one glaring problem, No Chelsea attackers. I don't think they should be ignored.

    Wanted to go in with a solid team, no punts and no injury/game time doubts... this is the best I can come up with.

    Players in BOLD play each week regardless of fixtures... Players in brackets are bench fodder... Players separated by / rotate with each other depending on who has the easier fixture.

    Only player I really dislike is Marney... but he isn't going to play and at the moment is probably the best £4.5m bench mid with Albrighton out.

      Yeah mate, that's a pretty dangerous game to play.

      You'll probably find that you're gonna have to make a few transfers early on in defense.

      Have a look at some other teams in regards to cheap defenders who'll actually play too.

      But if you're happy with it......go for it!

        Yea i am happy with that front 7, and thats what makes me want to keep it! Defense are made up of 3 4.5m and 2 4m so hard but can change it about depending on which 4.5m play

    Hey!

    My current team is the following:

    Foster (Krul)
    Jones - Wilson - Chester (Wisdom, Hutton)
    Ramsey - Mata - Hazard - Eriksen (Sigurdsson)
    Rooney - Costa - Fletcher

    Any recommendations? I'm considering of downgrading Hazard to Fabregas and using 1 for Jones -> Azpi and Fletcher -> Austin.

    Any other weak spots in the team?

      Very similar team as mine.

      Not sure of the Jones>Azpi move as at least you'll know that Jones will be playing (and they have decent fixtures).

      Fletcher > Austin would be good in my opinion.

      Care to comment on my team and any possible changes I could make?

      Could work well. We still aren't certain on Chelsea's first choice goalie though. It probably will be Courtois but Mourinho hasn't confirmed anything yet.

      Looks good to me. Fairly nailed on throughout and its a solid 352 formation. Just hope the Burnley striker keeps his spot, he looks promising.

    Care to comment on my team and any possible changes I could make?

    I know defense is weakish and still looking for a solution to Zamora - any other striker?

    Happy to play 3-5-2 as I think most points will come from midfield.

      Consider juskiekhdfjishngfjindgjbfd as stated above. Has some good pre-season form and is flying way below the radar. You might need to downgrade elsewhere though to make it work. Probably Hazard -> Fabregas.
