We’ve filled with a sense of optimism this morning as we prepare to go head-to-head with Paddy for the first time this season. Our hand-picked trio all approach the kick-off in excellent form and each has a plum home fixture to take advantage of tomorrow afternoon.

Our first stop is Old Trafford, where United prepare for their first league fixture under Louis van Gaal. The Red Devils’ shift to a 3-4-1-2 has helped them to a 100% record over the summer and in Wayne Rooney, they have one of the most in-form frontmen around. Heavy favourite in this week’s Captain Poll, the England star netted four times over the close-season and with Paddy offering 13-2 on a Rooney double and United clean sheet, we’re prepared to make this our bet of the week and throw £4 of our tenner their way.

Next up, we take a trip to the Britannia, where Stoke square up to Aston Villa. The Potters lost just three times in front of their own supporters under Mark Hughes last season and the addition of Bojan Krkic has lit up their summer, with the little Spaniard firing three goals in recent friendlies. With Paddy prepared to offer 13-2 on a Bojan goal and Stoke clean sheet against Paul Lambert’s side, we part company with £3 this time.

Our final stake is left for the Emirates encounter between Arsenal and Palace. Paddy are offering 7-2 on Aaron Ramsey to score and the Gunners to grab a clean sheet – given that Arsene Wenger’s side delivered 11 shut-outs at home in 2013/14, we’re giving the Welshman our backing against the managerless Eagles.

Aside from our trio of flutter bets, Paddy are also offering a deal on Arsenal new boy Alexis Sanchez for the season ahead. You can get odds of 4/10 to score over 10 goals in his debut year with the London outfit.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

New Account Offer

Paddy are also offering a great offer for those yet to open an account. Ahead of the season’s kick-off, new customers can get 15/2 on favourites Chelsea to win the Premier League, with Man City at 9/1, Man United 16/1, Arsenal 20/1 and Liverpool 30/1 to clinch the title.

To clarify, the Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified. New customers can only opt for one of the five offers. The offer is open until 12.45pm on Saturday August 16.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

May be fit for this week already. Probably will be fit for the next week for sure.

That's it!! I'm done... here is my brain dump if it helps anyone with last minute twitches 😉

Actually gone for 4-3-3 this week.

    GW1
    De Gea (Myhill)
Chambers - Chester - PVA - Caulker (Clyne)
    Ramsey - Fab - Mata (Mutch - S.Davies)
    Giroud - Costa - Rooney (c)

Tick- GW1 11 players with strong fixture
    Tick - Budget def
Tick - 3 Strong strikers (hopefully)
Tick - 2 mid-range midfield gambles (good initial fixtures though)
Tick - GW2 transfer Chambers > The stoke 4.5 when we know who is playing

De Gea - Strong first fixtures
Myhill - De Gea for fist 6 fixtures so not gonna play
Chambers - Cheap way to Ars GW1 def. Will sub or transfer next week
Chester - Prefer Davies but cheaper. Good initial fixtures
PVA - Gamble, but budget could spend time a lot of time on bench
Caulker - Goals potential and OK first bunch of fixtures
Clyne - Good fixtures GW2> Could be BPS magnet
Ramsey - Goals, assists and low price is due to rise I think when people swap from Sanchez
Fab - Hopefully scores free kicks and plays in hole (could be a mistake!) swap for sterling GW3>
Mata - In hole and strong initial fixtures
Mutch - Always popped up with a goal or two last season and allows Giroud
S.Davies - Strong initial fixtures scored goals in preseason
Giroud - Assists and Goals can't believe he is a differential
Costa - Gamble but can't risk leaving out with the first two fixtures
Rooney - As Captain he is gonna be on it!! (I hope)

    My Worries
No Haz, No Chelsea Def, No Liverpool Attack, No Man City Attack.

Hope some of above helps someone out there with their last minute panick

Good luck all!! Thanks for all the great articles and comments/chat over last week.

    Strong coffee time 😉

Great post, like the thinking all the way through.... Only two Im not sure about are DeGea ( will he be busy enough?? ) and PVA,.... His stats don't look great over last 2-3 seasons... May be transformed in Prem, but not convinced at the moment... I went similar, but with Begovic and B Davies... Good luck....

        Thanks!

Had B Davies until the Rose doubt came in so changed him for Clyne

PVA was gonna go for the Stoke budget in GW2 but prob bench him now and switch out Chambers. At 4.5 and with casuals Chambers could rise in price this week.

3rd one in equation was Ward but after Pulis this morning can't risk that def now

        So that is why I have gone for GW1;

        PVA | Chambers | Clyne

        over

        BDavies | Cameron/Pieters | Ward

I have to ask again. Any 4.0 goalkeeper starting?

    I have

    Krul-Mannone
    Cahill-Blackett-Vlaar-Chambers-Ben Davies
    Hazard-Gerrard-Arteta-Young-Siggy
    Costa-Rooney-Giroud

at the moment and 0,5 in the bank.

I am thinking to change Mannone to a 4.0 goalkeeper and upgrading Chambers to Debuchy or Blackett to P.Jones.

    What do you think?
