hard to argue with any of it. Hutton and Chester is the only decision really. I'd be tempted to say Hutton because people will be jumping on the Hull bandwagon and I don't think Stoke will go another game without scoring.

Open Controls -
don't forget RVP when he comes back. Plus sturridge. I think those 5 will still end up being the 5 best strikers and that's why they're priced what they are. I think you def need 2 of them. But 3 may be overkill.

I think I could do it with -4 (assuming prices remain)

60 isn't bad at all, stop sulking.
Open Controls -
yep. 54. (hangs head)
my back four returned me 5 points. and Austin got zero. So to be fair I got out of jail a little as 6 players got me 50 points!Open Controls-
the only difference between those on 50 points and those on 70 is who got lucky at the back. There were only 2 clean sheets weren't there? Plus some unexpected defender goals. Those scores could easily be reversed next week. I'm not worried. Yet.

Yes, Tom Fenley. Last year's overall winner.

When we had a discussion here over the summer about 'which player would you most love to be a regular starter', I and several others voted for Schurrle.
I think last night showed why!
I believe he will start many more matches this season and be a real star for just 7,5, but of course there is always the rotation/early substitution worry.Open Controls -

I want to put Siggy in my team. Missed his price rise. Only way to put him without a hit will be to downgrade mata to him. Not impressed with mata at all in the final set of preseason games and against swans...Good thinking?

Morning all.
Finished GW1 with 72pts, so pretty happy! My current midfield is Mata, Siggy, Ramsey, Eriksen and Sterling.
So tempted to make my first transfer Mata -> Fábregas while I can before the price rise kicks in.
Can anyone give me some advice either way?Open Controls-
do you have costa up front? If yes don't do it, mata will come good over those fixtures.
Open Controls -
See krkic is for kinnear's post a few pages back, it's a long one. But it sold me on the benefits of going for it
Open Controls -
I'm keeping Mata for now. I have Terry and Costa.
Open Controls -
Thought of the same, the price rise is my main worry (especially more if Mata price drop!)
But Mata has nice fixtures still, and I would only have Rooney for coverage. I have Costa.Open Controls
-
-
Who usually is more accurate at predicting the price fall on the first few weeks?
Total or Fiso?Open Controls -
I hate to jerk that knee but price changes look likely to force my arm and Haz - > Fab may have to be done. As much as I don't really want to, by the beginning of the next game week it looks like almost 0.5m swing which is too large to ignore, anyone else feeling the same?
Open Controls-
hazard is only at -11%
Open Controls -
we all do - only Mata -> Fab for some. But I have this voice in my head that keep nagging "stay level-headed, stay level-headed " ...
Open Controls -
No. One swallow does not make a Summer.
Open Controls -
Unfair. If Referee hadn't made a collosal eff-up in the penalty decision, Costa would have had an assist and Hazard a goal (like as not).

In hindsight, that Young punt was a disaster waiting to happen.
Eventually he'll be out of first team so a valuable transfer will be used on him.
One day of madness ruins my whole month of planning, decided to go for Bojan-Siggy-Young rotation in short term. Rotation for attacking players doesn't work.
I benched Siggy in the end. Went Luis instead of Cahill because I need the money to get Young.
So I'm 13 pts+ behind, and gonna spend a FT and a hit to fix my team.
/rantover
Young Luis -> 4.5m Cahill (-4) ?
No kneejerk, but seems like the wise thing to do. Can't have 6m defender not playing every week.Open Controls-
I went the same wrong way with you .. Bojan + Siggy + Young and also benched Siggy. ðŸ™
I guest you have to do it.Open Controls-
Worse thing is. Not only I would've played Siggy, I would've have Chester in my team as well instead of Moore.
Would have been a perfect GW 1 team.
At least I have ClyneOpen Controls

Right. I was planning to bench Young this week and then use 2 free transfers to upgrade him the week after. Should I just bit the bullet and get rid now though? Will his price fall this week?
Open Controls -
Had a proper knee-jerk late last night.
Luis + Hazard OUT
Ivanovic + Fabregas IN
Think we all know what will happen next, injuries in CL and Hazard worldies.Open Controls -
-
All these Fabregas stats remind me of a certain Yaya. I never caught that train
Open Controls-
It's worrying. Same with Ramsey last year. It killed me points and TV wise early on.
Open Controls
-
-
I'm not too fussed if Siggy and Fab blank next week. The potential 0.6 gained in value is more important at this stage of the season IMO
Open Controls -
I still think Hazard will score 200pts this season.
But then again, Cesc might as well...for 1m less.Open Controls-

Worth a WC to get fab and aguero in?
Have a feeling aguero will start vs Liverpool and is fixture proof....Open Controls -
-
I used my FT to get Siggy in, unfortunately, couldn't without keeping Young in. I'm planning on getting rid next week. Would use my FT this week to get him out though, but that options gone...I'm still hopeful he'll give me some returns in the next week or so. We'll see how I feel next week.
Do with this what you will.Open Controls

Gameweek 1 last season;
Liverpool 1-0 Stoke (Sturridge, Mignolet penalty save)
- Liverpool defence, and in particular Mignolet at 5.5 was a 'must have'
Arsenal 1-3 Aston Villa (Giroud, Benteke x2, Luna)
- Aaron Ramsey was still an unknown FPL force
- Benteke followed this up with 1 goal followed by mediocre performances for the rest of the year. Luna didn't score all season.
Norwich 2-2 Everton (Whittaker, RvW, Barkley, Coleman)
- Barkley seemed to establish himself as the bargain of the season, how many were happy with him last season? Coleman on the other hand continued this form and was the best defender below 6M.
- RvW didn't score in the remaining 26 appearances for the club, and Whittaker lost his place soon after.
Sunderland 0-1 Fulham (Kasami)
- Fulham CS away from home and a goal from Kasami at 4.5, potential bargains it seemed. Look how that ended up.
WBA 0-1 Southampton (Lambert)
- No sign of Lallana or J-Rod who would end up being 2 of the bargain buys in their positions.
West Ham 2-0 Cardiff (Cole, Nolan)
- A sign of things to come for Cardiff. As for Cole and Nolan? The less said the better.
Swansea 1-4 (Bony, RVP x2, Welbeck x2)
- Fergie who? RVP proving to be well with his hefty price tag under the guidance of Moyes. Welbeck a potential bargain even!?
Crystal Palace 0-1 Spurs (Soldado)
- Spurs new signing kicks the season off with a match winning penalty, along with maximum BP's. At a reasonable price tag many thought they hit the jackpot with what ended up being one of the biggest flops of last season.
Chelsea 2-0 Hull (Lampard, Oscar)
- With De Bruyne and Torres getting the assists, Hazard looks an expensive flop in comparison to his cheaper midfield partners. Don't think Oscar owners were too happy for very long.
Manchester City 4-0 Newcastle (Silva, Aguero, Nasri, Toure)
- The beginning of the story of the two biggest trolls of the season in Aguero and Toure.Open Controls-

Just goes to show any knee-jerks and so called conclusions based on GW1 is risky business.

Should I play Rio vs Spurs or Wisdom against Southampton? Give reason why?
Open Controls-
Rio. spoke to some Spurs fans at the gym last night who told me that Spurs' first performance under Pochettino was as disjointed going forwards as their first game under AVB.
Southampton on the other hand look like a team with goals in them and West Brom defence looks like they'll concede a lot.Open Controls -
I have the same problem, and I'm tempted to play Rio. Southampton looked pretty good against Liverpool, while Spurs struggled (albeit with 10 men). And Rio got a BAP without a CS. Arghh, I dont know...
Open Controls-
I guess Rio is my man. Having to field him Baines, Hutton and Krul I am not looking forward to next round defensively!

Matta < Sterling too knee jerky?
Open Controls-
Damn. Mata.
Open Controls-
Oh. In that case, no.
Open Controls
-
-
Yes
Open Controls -
I would say yes only because of the fixtures and because you can still make the transfer with the price changes. I've gone mata to fab only because they both have decent fixtures but after today will not be able to make the change due to the likely price changes
