With Gameweek 1 concluded, it’s time to delve a little deeper into the data in our first “Big Numbers” article for members of the campaign. We analyse the display of Arsenal’s new wide man against Palace, the QPR front pairing at home to Hull, Liverpool’s ever-improving youngster, Southampton’s delivery under Ronald Koeman and United’s weekend scorer in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea.

How do people like this for a team?

    Krul
    Clyne - Chester - PvA
    Siggy - Ramsey - Fabragas - Sterling
    Rooney - Costa - Sturridge
    _____________________________
    Elliot: Hutton, Marney, Moore

OR swap Sturridge with Aguero and Clyne down to a 4.5?

    Any help/suggestions welcome thanks.

So ive resisted Fabregas so far, and resolved to save a transfer this week, but am considering taking a hit for him.
I've checked the points - a 4 point hit takes me from 1k OR down to about 4k.

    Eriksen and Jovetic out.
    Fabregas and Naismith in

Gives cash itb to move Costa or Rooney to Aguero at a later date.

This doesnt really make sense, and considering Eriksen has QPR this week it doesnt make a huge amount of sense, but does allow me to drop Jovetic. Any thoughts?

No robs with getting Fabs in but not sure Naismith in for Jovetic is a good move.

If you think Spurs will do us (QPR) then Eriksen should score similar to Fabs.

Im 0.5 short of Eriksen to Fabregas, hence the hit. His fixture does mean i should keep him tbh, QPR defence was not solid the other day.

Jovetic is probably one to get rid of before too long, but I'm happy holding, or even benching him this week i guess

I have same issue someone should make a topic about this. Have used my free transfer. Trouble is there is no obvious replacement, especially in terms of a free transfer. If you have no other issues in your team you could, or you could bench Jovetic I suppose.

You either need to downgrade or take a hit and get an £8.5m striker, or just get Aguero in.

    Dear FFS community,

For the past 2 seasons I have gained lots of valuable information and advice from you so I decided to give back to this community I benfited alot from so bear with me. This is an honest advice on the mata to fab craze. First of all, in a vaccum I do not object the transfer at all what I object is the attitude. This is my 3rd season playing FPL, my 1st season was a disaster finishing around 150k dont really remember. My second season was much better achieving a top 60k finish which could have been much higher if I was not hasty with some of my transfers like doing transfers on monday and that player gets injured midweek thus taking alot of unnecessary hits. Due to my fall from the top 15k to 40k by gamweek 34 I stopped playing. Sorry for taking that long in introduction I just wanted to make clear that im atleast a decent player by now.

    1) Do not underestimate fixtures guys. Last year we were bringing in players like Nolan and Mutch just because they were going into a decent run of fixtures. What im trying to say is a player playing for a worse team can match or surpass a player playing for a better team just because of easier fixtures.

    2) Those bringing in cesc for his home game against Leicester next week are in my opinion very short sighted as chelsea dont have very good fixtures after that game

    3) A FT is way too valuable to use switching between Mata and cesc depending on price changes and who does better in a given gameweek. This is why I heavily objected getting people like young and chambers who are bound to lose their place eventually. These FT are key to adapt your squad to the ever changing environment of this game.

    3) One thing that really served me well last season was staying ahead of the game by monitoring several players and getting the good ones in just as their side is going into a good run of fixtures. I think Mata to Fab is thinking about the past instead of thinking into the future.

    4) What happens if an expensive player like Aguero or sanchez explodes next week and you only have 1 FT? You will take a hit but if you saved your FT especially when that transfer is not a pressing transfer due to injury.

    5) I know it sounds like im not fully appreciating the importance of team value but I do. Getting fabregas to catch the rise does not really gain you much money in the short term since he is staying your team for a good while since you didnt care about the fixtures anyway. By the time you want to sell Mata can rise to a similar value.

    6) Fabregas' output last weekend was 2 assists. Nothing to scoff at but its really like he scored a hatrick to warrant such a bandwahon.

    7) Back to Fixtures, it doesnt really take a diehard chelsea fan (which I am) to know how mou sets up against top sides 0-0s and 1-0s all day so the creative players like fabregas get shackled thonk how amazing hazard was at the etihad but still got no FPL output.

    8) Dont be too worried if u cant do Mata to fabs if you wait there are plenty of other alternatives like going for silva or sterling or tadic its not like fabregas is essential at this stage of the seaso especially with sterling playing in very advanced position and liverpool's great fixtures starting gwk4 and the same applies for silva starting gwk 6.

I know this is a very long post but I just wanted to give my insight on the current situation. Excuse my typos since I am writing this from my smarthphone which is really inconvenient. Would be great if you guys could make this green so alot of people read it

    Thanks for your time.

      This.

Especially point 2) which I have been saying on prev pages.

Chelsea do not put teams to the sword like Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City like to do. Burnley 2nd half was prime example of this. If that was City or Utd they'd have been looking to put 6 or 7 past a Burnley team that were ridiculously outclassed.

I have Costa so not in a hurry to take hits for Fabs when I perceive that the tougher games on the immediate schedule will have an effect on his pointage.

But not stopping anyone else from going for him.

If I get him in it would be for Gerrard but Liverpool have some nice games coming up and there could be some juicy pens and FK's for Gerrard coming up, which leaves me reluctant to change it.

I swapped Caulker for Clyne in a bit of a drunken haze on Sunday and now wishing I hadn't as it makes sense to do Mata > Schurrle? Worth the hit? Had a good first week am in top 3k:

    krul foster

    chester debuchy clyne pva moore

sterling siggy fabregas ramsey (mata / schurrle?)

    costa rooney jutkicewiczaijaoicjcoadokd

am i kneejerking? quite keen to upgrade the jutki with the extra 1.5 (if I do it before Mata drops)..

No rush to do anything. You have the big risers in midfield. And no, Schurrle not a good pick. Willian will takes games off him.

    Current team:

    DDG (sun)

Baines (ARS) - Cahill (LEI) - wisdom (sou)

Hazard (LEI) - Ramsey (eve) - silva (LIV) - Davis (WBA)

Rooney (sun) - Sturridge (mci) - Naismith (ARS)

Bench Elliot - Chambers - marney - Bartley

    So...

I would like Fab and Sterling after this weekend's performances, but it's hard to fit them in! Any ideas? Not wild carding as I'm on holiday with crap wifi. Could also get Hutton in for Bartley?

I wouldn't want to get baines. as good as he is I wouldn't want that much money in defense when there's tons of expensive mids that look good. cesc, haz, sterling, silva, ramsey, walcott (when he returns), sanchez (once he adjusts) will all be great picks. then up top you've got aguero, rooney, costa, sturridge

6.5 for a defense is the most I wanna spend until the second half of the season

Baines would be the move assuming none of the other mids take off. Currently have...

            Haz Rams Fab Sig Albrighton

May be that I want to upgrade Albrighton and go 352 or upgrade Diouf if he sputters. We shall see.

Do like the flexibility I have at the moment.

So I orginally had Clyne in my team and thought Id take a punt on Chambers for a game then switch to Clyne GW2 for his fixtures. I also have Jovetic and Mata and want to make a trade on one of them. With Jov and Chambers possibly losing their starting place and mata > sterling (money bags), any suggestions on which of the 3 is most important to trade first?

I'd hold Chambers. Arteta injured today. Could find himself playing in midfield.

Mata's a tough one. I'd sell but then others would say hold. Decent trade for me though.

Jovetic is worth waiting on too. He'll surely start or get a 30 minute cameo with Aguero being eased back in.

Thats kind of huge for chambers value, thanks.

Yea Mata is tough, i want to get on the money train but the tables could turn quite swiftly if Sterling blanks and Mata sees he back of the net.

I guess Jovetic might be my only transfter or .. Hold on to the transfer for next week.

    a) Luis Young -> Cahill Albrighton (-4)

    b) Swallow the Young and Luis price drop.
Do the transfer next week without a hit. Possibly taking a hit anyway due to getting the bandwagon.
Hoping Luis play this week, else Ferdinand @TOT comes in.
