With Gameweek 1 concluded, itβs time to delve a little deeper into the data in our first “Big Numbers” article for members of the campaign. We analyse the display of Arsenalβs new wide man against Palace, the QPR front pairing at home to Hull, Liverpoolβs ever-improving youngster, Southamptonβs delivery under Ronald Koeman and Unitedβs weekend scorer in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea.
I've just done haz to fab. I mnow some will think it's crazy but i was 50/50 at the start so went expensive so i could switch freely.
And with no other urgent team worries at the moment im quite happy. His increased involvement in free kicks and corners swayed me and his movement in a lampard style role for jose.
I know haz will have big scoring weeks, i know he has penalties, but for the one million i cant see the difference being worth it.
I know many won't agree but there it is πOpen Controlshe might do every week, i just think until haz gets up to speed he wont be 1mil better.

Which 3 to start between:
Kelly (WHU), Kaboul (QPR), Chester (STO), Debuchy (eve)Open Controlsfirst 3
Open Controls
a) Luis Young -> Cahill Albrighton (-4)
b) Swallow the Young and Luis price drop.
Do the transfer next week without a hit.
Possibly taking a hit anyway due to getting the bandwagon.
Hoping Luis play this week, else Ferdinand @TOT comes in.Open ControlsI just dont know mate. Sorry. Thats a tough one to call
Open Controlsc) get different players in
Open ControlsLook at the top price risers at that price or players who looked good from GW1. Siggy, Ki, JWP, Clyne, Chester, Koscielny. Don't take a hit for Albrighton or Cahill. If you don't like those options just stick I guess
Open ControlsI got all the good players already. π
Ki is lucky, Cattermole is Cattermole, JWP is losing his place.
CheersOpen Controls

you can't have good or bad form from just one game. form is how you play over the course of 3-6 weeks
do you guys agree or disagree?Open Controlsagree
Open ControlsIts the basic definition of form. You can have a good game and still be on poor form overall.
Open Controlsagreed 100% which is why I think this Siggy bandwagon is ridiculous.
just a week ago people had gone from fully drinking the Siggy kool-aid to thinking he wasn't worth it anymore unless you had nothing else to fill the slot and spend the money on.Open Controlsπ―
Siggy has been a massive bandwagon on here since he transferred back to Swansea!
he was a great pick when he played for swansea before. you're a member, just go and look at the stats for midfielders in the second half of the 2012 season I think it was. he's in the top 5 for most attacking categories
the only people I saw that weren't getting siggy were the delusional young ownersOpen Controlsit trailed off once it was revealed he wouldn't play in the hole as people were less inclined to take him out wide even though he was on set pieces. from the United game though, looks like he will be in the hole (at least some of the time)
Open Controlsthere were some doubts but most still went with him anyways. Siggy nailed on in the hole is fantasy gold
Open Controlsenough that you think I should take a hit to get him in? I think Young is still nailed on until Shaw is back so it's the only reason I'm hesitant because it's not like I'm replacing a player who is injured or out of favor and United's fixtures are kind
Open Controls
you can have price falls or rises though
Open Controlsyes but that's not what I was getting at
people shipping mata because he has poor form
or people bringing in Sterling or Cesc because they have good form.
but you can't have form at all after just one game. that's just called having a good game or a bad game. everyone has both of thoseOpen ControlsSterling has been on form for half a year. You cannot be certain of form after 1 game. If Mata or Cesc is going to have a blistering start to the season the fact that Cesc had a much better game makes it more likely to be him.
Open Controls
I'm not crazy to save my transfer, yeah ? 0.5m itb
...................Begovic
......Kolarov - Azpi - Chambers
Fabregas - Yaya - Ramsey - Young
........Jelly - Rooney - Costa
Gilks - Marney - Hutton - BairdOpen ControlsI'd do Young -> Siggy there
Open ControlsSorry, just realised you were 0.1 short for that one...
Open Controls
Now that Siggy's risen I guess so. Unless you like Yaya>Sterling.
Open Controlssee above. you're gunna want siggy so get him sooner rather than later, especially since he has such a great fixture this weekamd good fixtures over the next 6 bar Chelsea
Open Controlsit would require a hit unless I drop one of my 9m+ mids
Open Controlsyaya > siggy this week
young > sanchez/haz/sterling next weekOpen Controlsseems like a bit of a knee jerk wouldn't you say? Yaya had a good game on Sunday
Open ControlsI agree with him. But could see your reservation.
Open Controlshmmm, didn't want to take a hit but now am considering a -8. funny old game this..
Yaya + Azpi + Young > Hazard + Rangel + Siggy too knee jerky? feels like it with Chelsea v Leicester this weekend but given the potential rotation in defense it could lead to 0 points for me and conceded goals for them (even if they win)
maybe I'll just do Yaya + Young > Mata/Silva + Siggy..but would feel scared to not have City even if it's Liverpool next..Open Controlsπ―
Too much too soon, mate. Just free up some money with Yaya>Siggy if you're gonna do anything.Open ControlsI really do want to stick to my paradigm of no hits..the move makes a ton of sense, it just feels weird to ditch Yaya so early on..but tbh part of the appeal of him was that he was so expensive that shifting him instantly makes any other move possible
Open ControlsAlso that if he got off to a flyer we'd have the upper hand as others would have hell fitting him into their teams.
Didn't pay off. Onwards and upwards.Open Controls

Am I missing something this GW for a transfer?Open ControlsWhat to do about Luis then? Surely not just cover, so if he doesn't start this week at home to Leicester, when will he?
That's my hopeful outlook at present anyway :SOpen ControlsYeah, hoping he starts against Leicester. Otherwise I'm chucking him out.
Open Controls
Fun Fact: Manchester City's first two goals from last season came from David Silva and Sergio Aguero and were also scored versus Newcastle...

Am I missing something this GW for a transfer?Open ControlsJust looking at the Man United squad...Jeez..which teams would even want about half of their players..How did it come to this...?..just rubbish...
Open Controlssome combination of blame falling on the shoulders of Fergie and the Glazers
Open ControlsDunno what it is but I doubt even the lower half teams would even want a lot of those players even on a FT...
Open Controlslet's not be ridiculous..I think United fans are just sensitive to the issue but to suggest players like Valencia/Young/Anderson couldn't cut it at the Aston Villas of the league is a bit extreme
Open ControlsReally..I'm not a United fan btw..Those three players you list are playing the same teams in a United shirt as they would be in a Villa shirt..If Young is crap playing against teams for United he will be crap playing against the same teams if he played for Villa...Same for Anderson and Valencia..
Open ControlsI think you can blame complacency. At one of the biggest clubs in the world and playing relatively frequently..taking em down a peg could light a fire under their asses..
Open ControlsAgreed..Complacency would seem a good way to sum it up..The biggest club in the world(?) lining up with Smalling Jones Blackett Fletcher Young etc etc...jeez..They've taken their eye off the ball for sure...

and anyone in the purchasing team at Utd. They hung Moyes out to dry by not supporting him from day 1.
Open Controlsthe players acted totally inappropriately, but at the same time it's easy to understand how a group that is so used to winning could have a hard time trusting the word of a man who has literally never won anything
Open ControlsThat is true but he never brought anyone in to make it his own team. If they had Baines say and a few others he had selected from day one interspersed with existing players it could have changed the dynamic. But nobody went out and made sure they got them it dragged on and never happened. Inept
Open Controlsit was an unfortunate (for Moyes) combination of his own inexperience at this level with an actual budget and Woodward's first time out on the 'football pitch' so to speak, as prior to that he had only dealt in securing sponsorships
Open ControlsAlso the clubs fault then. Maybe Ferguson as a director could not be accused of knowing nothing in this area. He must have seen it coming.
Open ControlsI've debated this for a long time with fellow supporters and can't give you an honest reason why we went for Moyes..too many people at the club given a say in the matter..we should have hired Mourinho when we had the chance and we would not be in this mess..
Open ControlsI still don't think Moyes was a terrible decision. It was the club as a whole who cocked it up and I think the lack of signings pre season shows they have not learned.
Open Controls
Yup. Underinvestment over a long period. No canny cheap purchases and now they have to pay the current market for players and that is one of the most expensive markets I recall for pretty much any player.
Open ControlsUnited have spent the second most on net transfers in the past five years in the whole of Europe behind PSG (SSN today)..where the hell has that money gone ?
Open ControlsReally? I guess RVP and Mata weren't cheap. They have spent a lot this year on relatively few players.
Open ControlsWhen you say net I suppose I don't recall them selling anyone for good money to counterbalance it either
Open ControlsYep..That point was made today...Nobody has been paying good money for ex United players..
Open Controlsdefinitely true. we spend poorly (as in buying in positions we don't need reinforcement in immediately) and don't sell
Open ControlsToday being a good case in point..Nani leaving for nothing and paying 16 mill for a defender...Good player but shocking business..
Open ControlsYour whole first choice defence should never be allowed to all leave at the same time. At least Evra and Vidic should be at Utd IMO. How can you expect a complete set of players to gel just like that.

Owner of Bruce (Hull), wondering whether using my free trade to upgrade to Chester is a good idea?
I also own Azpili, who I'm sure needs to go as well.
Any help appreciated! Thanks.Open ControlsCan anyone help me out; is Steven Taylor of Newcastle likely to play the next GW?
Many thanksOpen ControlsDo you think Blackett gets the start again for United with the Rojo signing?
Worth taking a taking a four point hit to do Eriksen -> Siggy and Blackett -> Clyne? Currently have 0 ITB. Not too keen on any 4.5 options long term, and I already have PVA.Open ControlsYou own blackett? π―
Open ControlsRarely ever worth a hit to move a defender if you can still field 3.
Open ControlsYes he will. Rojo will go to LWB if he goes straight in.
Open ControlsHe may eventually end up at CB. But right now our options at LWB are dire. The CBs aren't the problem, contrary to what the mob assumes. Blackett is quite something. And it seems LVG really fancies him. I imagine it will be...
If Evans is fit...
Jones Evans Smalling Blackett Rojo
If not...
Rafa/Young Jones Smalling Blackett Rojo
Think that LWB spot is the one that's really worrying LVG at the moment.Open Controls
don't take a hit on a defender
naylor, rio, colo, chester, kelly all seem decentOpen Controls
I am a Yaya Toure owner and I need a hug.
Open ControlsIs Ramsey Out of GW2 since he got red carded?
Open ControlsI've just made the puntiest transfer, but I think it's the right thing to do.
I've done Giroud -> Gomis
Main reasons:
1) Free up £1.5m to bring Aguero in on a FT next week (or at least be able to if he doesn't get injured over the weekend)
2) Like the look of Swansea's fixtures
3) Like the look of Swansea's team
4) Gomis should be close to full fitness now and I reckon Monk might well play Bony and Gomis together, at least for home games
5) Giroud is going to go down by 0.1, probably not til tomorrow night, but didn't want to take the risk that it happened tonight
6) Don't particularly fancy any of the other strikers who are cheaper (well, maybe Ideye at some point, but not until I've seen him play!)
7) Think Giroud is rubbish
Have I been daft?Open ControlsRiviere or Berahino?
Open ControlsRiviere if he can fix his end product, looked decent though
Open ControlsBerahino a much better prospect never mind the money saved.
Open ControlsBerahino is not a better prospect lol
Open Controls
I didn't watch berahino
But Riviere was pretty crap. Not sure if it's due to first epl game.Open Controls
Hazard passes in the attacking third area

vs.
Fabregas passes in the attracking third area:
http://tinyurl.com/kmgr4zv
Hazard is going to explode any day now. Sit tight gentlemen, next GW will be huge!Open ControlsThat looks to me like Fabregas plays more killer passes. He will get more assists. Hazard should get more goals when he finds his form. (couple of months)
Open Controls
Best 4.5 defender?
Open ControlsPVA Naylor Chester all great.
Even though Naylor was sub out I think he's still nailed in that Swansea defence.Open Controls
Are the price changes imminent?
I'm reluctantly going to hold.
Mata- Fabs seemed to make nothing bit sense.
Prob is I have other issues which may need more urgent addressing.
Need big perfs from
Lamela, Jovetic, Mata in particular.
Fingers crossed.
2fts ready after this GW to sort out my team.
A week is a long tome in football. Especially the 1st week of the new season.Open ControlsGonna go Mata > Fab in the next few minutes. Anyone think I should not?
My team below:
Krul Foster
Terry PVA Taylor Chester Hutton
Mata Ramsey Henderson Siggy Marney
Sturridge Costa RooneyOpen ControlsIs Costa Fab Terry too much chelsea?
May offload Terry to upgrade Henderson in the next few GWs.Open ControlsI think you should not. I'd stick. Close one though but I think Mata will score more than Fabregas.
Manchester played excellent football in their first game even though they lost. If they get a tiny bit better, the goals will come raining and I'd bet you Mata will be involved. Fabre has more players to compete with for the points. That's my take.Open ControlsIt's a toss up on who will score more.
But what's for sure is Fab will be at least 9.1 and Mata may go 8.9.
So I am going to be 0.2 out if I want to get Fab in in the future, or 0.1 out if I want to buy a 9 player.
That being said if Mata do well his price could go back up again?Open ControlsI have done the transfer!
Open Controls
Is it generally agreed that Mata's price will drop before Sunday?
Open ControlsWhat are people doing (or what would you do) with Chambers?
A) Playing (can't see a CS against Everton anyway!)
B) Benching
C) > Chester/Robertson
D) > other (please name)Open ControlsAny news on Kyle Naughton's red card? Has Tottenham appealed against it?
