With Gameweek 1 concluded, it’s time to delve a little deeper into the data in our first “Big Numbers” article for members of the campaign. We analyse the display of Arsenal’s new wide man against Palace, the QPR front pairing at home to Hull, Liverpool’s ever-improving youngster, Southampton’s delivery under Ronald Koeman and United’s weekend scorer in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I've just done haz to fab. I mnow some will think it's crazy but i was 50/50 at the start so went expensive so i could switch freely.

And with no other urgent team worries at the moment im quite happy. His increased involvement in free kicks and corners swayed me and his movement in a lampard style role for jose.

I know haz will have big scoring weeks, i know he has penalties, but for the one million i cant see the difference being worth it.

I know many won't agree but there it is πŸ™‚

    a) Luis Young -> Cahill Albrighton (-4)

    b) Swallow the Young and Luis price drop.
Do the transfer next week without a hit.
Possibly taking a hit anyway due to getting the bandwagon.
Hoping Luis play this week, else Ferdinand @TOT comes in.

Look at the top price risers at that price or players who looked good from GW1. Siggy, Ki, JWP, Clyne, Chester, Koscielny. Don't take a hit for Albrighton or Cahill. If you don't like those options just stick I guess

agreed 100% which is why I think this Siggy bandwagon is ridiculous.

just a week ago people had gone from fully drinking the Siggy kool-aid to thinking he wasn't worth it anymore unless you had nothing else to fill the slot and spend the money on.

        😯

Siggy has been a massive bandwagon on here since he transferred back to Swansea!

he was a great pick when he played for swansea before. you're a member, just go and look at the stats for midfielders in the second half of the 2012 season I think it was. he's in the top 5 for most attacking categories

the only people I saw that weren't getting siggy were the delusional young owners

it trailed off once it was revealed he wouldn't play in the hole as people were less inclined to take him out wide even though he was on set pieces. from the United game though, looks like he will be in the hole (at least some of the time)

enough that you think I should take a hit to get him in? I think Young is still nailed on until Shaw is back so it's the only reason I'm hesitant because it's not like I'm replacing a player who is injured or out of favor and United's fixtures are kind

yes but that's not what I was getting at

people shipping mata because he has poor form
or people bringing in Sterling or Cesc because they have good form.

but you can't have form at all after just one game. that's just called having a good game or a bad game. everyone has both of those

Sterling has been on form for half a year. You cannot be certain of form after 1 game. If Mata or Cesc is going to have a blistering start to the season the fact that Cesc had a much better game makes it more likely to be him.

hmmm, didn't want to take a hit but now am considering a -8. funny old game this..

Yaya + Azpi + Young > Hazard + Rangel + Siggy too knee jerky? feels like it with Chelsea v Leicester this weekend but given the potential rotation in defense it could lead to 0 points for me and conceded goals for them (even if they win)

maybe I'll just do Yaya + Young > Mata/Silva + Siggy..but would feel scared to not have City even if it's Liverpool next..

I really do want to stick to my paradigm of no hits..the move makes a ton of sense, it just feels weird to ditch Yaya so early on..but tbh part of the appeal of him was that he was so expensive that shifting him instantly makes any other move possible

Agreed..Complacency would seem a good way to sum it up..The biggest club in the world(?) lining up with Smalling Jones Blackett Fletcher Young etc etc...jeez..They've taken their eye off the ball for sure...

the players acted totally inappropriately, but at the same time it's easy to understand how a group that is so used to winning could have a hard time trusting the word of a man who has literally never won anything

That is true but he never brought anyone in to make it his own team. If they had Baines say and a few others he had selected from day one interspersed with existing players it could have changed the dynamic. But nobody went out and made sure they got them it dragged on and never happened. Inept

it was an unfortunate (for Moyes) combination of his own inexperience at this level with an actual budget and Woodward's first time out on the 'football pitch' so to speak, as prior to that he had only dealt in securing sponsorships

I've debated this for a long time with fellow supporters and can't give you an honest reason why we went for Moyes..too many people at the club given a say in the matter..we should have hired Mourinho when we had the chance and we would not be in this mess..

I still don't think Moyes was a terrible decision. It was the club as a whole who cocked it up and I think the lack of signings pre season shows they have not learned.

Yup. Underinvestment over a long period. No canny cheap purchases and now they have to pay the current market for players and that is one of the most expensive markets I recall for pretty much any player.

Your whole first choice defence should never be allowed to all leave at the same time. At least Evra and Vidic should be at Utd IMO. How can you expect a complete set of players to gel just like that.

Vidic 100% would have stayed if he knew Moyes was going to be fired at season's end, I am sure of that. It was Evra's time to go though, he was far past his best defensively.

Do you think Blackett gets the start again for United with the Rojo signing?

Worth taking a taking a four point hit to do Eriksen -> Siggy and Blackett -> Clyne? Currently have 0 ITB. Not too keen on any 4.5 options long term, and I already have PVA.

He may eventually end up at CB. But right now our options at LWB are dire. The CBs aren't the problem, contrary to what the mob assumes. Blackett is quite something. And it seems LVG really fancies him. I imagine it will be...

          If Evans is fit...

          Jones Evans Smalling Blackett Rojo

          If not...

          Rafa/Young Jones Smalling Blackett Rojo

Think that LWB spot is the one that's really worrying LVG at the moment.

I've just made the puntiest transfer, but I think it's the right thing to do.

    I've done Giroud -> Gomis

    Main reasons:
    1) Free up £1.5m to bring Aguero in on a FT next week (or at least be able to if he doesn't get injured over the weekend)
    2) Like the look of Swansea's fixtures
    3) Like the look of Swansea's team
    4) Gomis should be close to full fitness now and I reckon Monk might well play Bony and Gomis together, at least for home games
    5) Giroud is going to go down by 0.1, probably not til tomorrow night, but didn't want to take the risk that it happened tonight
    6) Don't particularly fancy any of the other strikers who are cheaper (well, maybe Ideye at some point, but not until I've seen him play!)
    7) Think Giroud is rubbish

    Have I been daft?

That looks to me like Fabregas plays more killer passes. He will get more assists. Hazard should get more goals when he finds his form. (couple of months)

Hazard wasn't trying to get to a position to take a shot. He was walking around the pitch playing short but key passes. He will get more assists and goals than Fabregas. Maybe I'm exaggerating but that's how I see it.

      PVA Naylor Chester all great.

Even though Naylor was sub out I think he's still nailed in that Swansea defence.

    Are the price changes imminent?
    I'm reluctantly going to hold.

Mata- Fabs seemed to make nothing bit sense.
Prob is I have other issues which may need more urgent addressing.

    Need big perfs from
    Lamela, Jovetic, Mata in particular.
    Fingers crossed.
2fts ready after this GW to sort out my team.
A week is a long tome in football. Especially the 1st week of the new season.

I think you should not. I'd stick. Close one though but I think Mata will score more than Fabregas.

Manchester played excellent football in their first game even though they lost. If they get a tiny bit better, the goals will come raining and I'd bet you Mata will be involved. Fabre has more players to compete with for the points. That's my take.

It's a toss up on who will score more.

But what's for sure is Fab will be at least 9.1 and Mata may go 8.9.

So I am going to be 0.2 out if I want to get Fab in in the future, or 0.1 out if I want to buy a 9 player.

That being said if Mata do well his price could go back up again?
