With Gameweek 1 concluded, it’s time to delve a little deeper into the data in our first “Big Numbers” article for members of the campaign. We analyse the display of Arsenal’s new wide man against Palace, the QPR front pairing at home to Hull, Liverpool’s ever-improving youngster, Southampton’s delivery under Ronald Koeman and United’s weekend scorer in the 2-1 home loss to Swansea.
Not everyone has been updated yet.
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/stats/elements/?element_filter=0&stat_filter=cost_change_startOpen ControlsEvening. Anyone else only only saving a transfer but also running out the same starting 11?
My only move will be c from Rooney to Costa.Open Controls0.1 rise limit per week??
Siggy the only one who hasn't risen of those above 100%...Open Controlsthat would be unreal if not even the double amount of last year is enough for a second rise
Open Controls
Well if Ryan is right and the percentages needed for double and triple rises have changed and changed so that it takes thousands upon thousands of NTI.
Then everyone taking hits and rushing to get Mata out 'cos they were onto a good thing making money may have blundered BIG time.
Big LOLOpen ControlsHaha!
Open ControlsI agree....100%
Open ControlsTrying to figure out the impact on the game if the threshold for double/triple rises were increased. I guess, come the end of the season, we would all have template?
Open ControlsWould be hilarious if Mata doesn't drop, scores a brace and Fab blanks. 😆
Open Controlsfrom your keyboard to gods eyes! 😎
Open Controls
Yes, let's have a Mata revolt. I'm sick of being shamed for having Mata.
Open ControlsI was shamed last season when he blanked for like 3 weeks after his debut at united. His priced dropped like 0.3 then he came through with like 3 straight 10+pt hauls
Open Controls
The NTI to change in price is much higher in the beginning of the season due to the amount of active players. It will gradually decrease as the season goes on. Something else to be aware of.
Open ControlsI know, but this level of NTI not activating an increase is unprecedented
Open Controls
So does that mean it'll be harder to build up TV than in other seasons?
That would really blow! Especially, if people want 3 premium forwards up front (35m+)! 🙁Open Controlsgood point Eden. Perhaps they want the game to be harder.
Open ControlsNot being able to afford loads of big hitters you muppet.
😉Open ControlsCatching the wagons and scoring points at the same time isn't exactly easy though. If there's more stability and less uncertainty surrounding prices for me that makes the game easier.
Open Controls
The more prolific strikers, who'll surely score 150+ has been priced over 9m. Plus Sterling has seen a 3m price hike, so that he ends up in the premium bracket. Irs hard to make a team with several quality players without a high TV , which seems harder to build now.
Open Controls
Most changes in FPL this season has been about lowering the scores. More negative baps and now they're trying to force managers into picking a certain number of budget options throughout the season. Reaching that 2300 point mark will be a real challenge this season.
Open Controls
it will be nearly impossible to build up TV if takes THAT much transfers for another rise
Open Controls
..................Begovic
......Kolarov - Azpi - Chambers
Fabregas - Yaya - Ramsey - Siggy
....Naismith - Rooney - Costa(c)
Naismith hattie this weekend please! 😆 😆Open ControlsPersonally, i would have downgraded Kolarov to raise the funds for Siggy
Open ControlsI'm taking a chance on him, I don't generally like to take hits for defenders
Open ControlsIn this case, it was warranted. In that it was used to fund the transfer in of an attacking player, besides, mci should concede this weekend. Further, Kolarov is always a rotation risk.
Open Controls
watch it be 100% for rise #1, 200% for rise #2 and 400% for rise #3 😆
Open ControlsTotalFPL and Fiso will of course be changing their formula's regularly as they try to guess the correct formula. It will be a case of trial and error for a while as they slowly get more accurate in the coming weeks. Don't assume a fixed % at this stage, it will change.
Open Controls
Bego
Blackett Naylor Hutton
Hazard(C) Rambo Fabs Siggy
Studge(VC) Roon Diouf
Quite optimistic. Roll on, next week!Open ControlsLike it .....we need Diouf to come good!
Open ControlsThat is a fun looking team up front. Would like to see some of the cheaper forwards make it interesting and give us some options up front.
Open Controls
Start Blackett or Hutton this week fellas, please?
Open ControlsI think this week is likely the least rational we are on the site the whole season. Psychologically, we are experiencing a bit of a withdrawal after we had been manipulating our teams for over a month with unlimited transfers before all of a sudden on Saturday morning it stopped and we were suddenly out of control. There were ten premium mids at the deadline but only four or five of them got a haul over the weekend; with little to do about it, the number of posts about form turned FFS into a bit of an echo chamber.
I'm not saying don't get Fabs or Siggy or even Berahino, but just do it because Cesc looked shit-hot when he made that pass to Schurrle, or because he was the last cut from your team, but not because he has better form than Mata or Hazard.
There is no form right now, and that is a fact in FPL terms: the form table is on the site and shows the average ppg over a five game stretch. Absent five games, the form table uses the season to date, which in this case is exactly the same as last week's points. And of all the truisms I've read on here over the last few years, that is the one I have always tried to follow: do not chase last week's points. If you are following form right now, you are actually following last week's points.Open ControlsWell said TM...+1 form CF
Open ControlsGood post. On Fab, it does sting if the price changes are different this season, but a big part of my decision (Mata to Fab) was just what you said. His involvement in that match and Mourinho had to say afterwards compared to how invisible Mata looked and the apparent lack of confidence around utd right now, plays a huge role.
Open ControlsNot sure I entirely agree with you here...we are not that long gone past a world cup, at which some players were completely and utterly off form (Hazard being the prime example).
Open Controls
Nice big spanner this one
Open ControlsIvanovic & Ward-Prowse or
Terry & TadicOpen ControlsHands up who didn't knee jerked Mata out tonight
Open Controlso/
Took out Arnie for Siggy insteadOpen ControlsNot me.
Open ControlsI feel so bad for the guy I want to bring him in.
Open Controlsdo it .....it will pay off
Open Controls
can I put my hand up if I don't have him to begin with?
Open Controlshand up
Open Controls
Got for his 8+ week run of great fixtures. I see he still has 7+ weeks of those left. No panic over 1 week of not scoring, everyone does 2 pointers some weeks.
Open Controlso/
Open Controls
Now both totalfpl and fiso showing mata at -68%.
What's chances for a drop this week?Open ControlsI reckon he will with the bandwagons in Midfield
Open Controls
2 questions re untied;
1. When is RvP expected back?
2. Whose place will Rojo take ? Jones, Jevans, Smalling? I think Smalling!
3. Where does he play CB or FB? i thought in WC he played FB but his is listed as a CBOpen Controls3 questions.....lol got greedy
Open Controls1. can't imagine him missing more than 1-2 more matches since we lost vs Swansea, LVG will want his golden boy back
2. hopefully Smalling but Evans is still injured so likely that for now
3. CB for Sporting but LB for Argie because they had Garay and Demi..he's versatile and a bit of a maniac, should be fun (and nervewracking at times)Open ControlsThanks....reckon his price will be 5.5 like the other mooks? or similar to Shaw @ 6.0?
Open Controls
1. Not this weekend but the next
2. Smalling (presuming Evans is fit)
3. He's a CB and will play on the left side of a back 3, can also play left wingback if neededOpen Controls
He wanted to buy some half-price garden furniture but his enemies got their first. I think.
Open Controls
Lloris (Krul)
Debuchy - Lovren - Luis (Caulker, Vlaar)
Hazzard - Siggy - Sterling - Ramsey (Albrighton)
Costa - Giroud (Bojan)
Thinking of holding this week with 1mill in the bank. Or should i look to trade Luis this week with a view to upgrade giroud if he does nothing?Open ControlsHenderson, Bojan, Vlaar
Which do I not start?Open ControlsBojan....This is why i do not like playing 352 benching nightmare every week.
Open Controls
Why didn't Shaw or Naughton drop, but Snoddy did? What the helll is going on?
Open ControlsI'll go out on a limb and post my unpopular view of how I think the United D will shape up...
352 with Evans fit
Jones Evans Smalling Blackett Rojo
352 without Evans
Rafa/Young Jones Smalling Blackett Rojo
433 with Evans
Jones Evans Smalling/Blackett Rojo
433 without Evans
Jones Smalling Blackett Rojo
Surely not what everyone's expecting. But then LVG isn't exactly the predictable type, is he?Open ControlsDDG
Jones JEvans Rojo
Janujaz Fletcher Herrera Young
Mata
Rooney RVP
MUN first 11, when all are fit?Open ControlsIf you mean right now without any more signings most likely...
DDG
Evans Smalling Blackett
Jones Fletcher Herrera Rojo
Mata
Rooney RVP
Although I think we could see Roon dropped into the hole and Welbeck played up top once he's fit or Januzaj in the hole with the big two up top. Mata better sort himself and quick. If the big three don't click I guarantee a pace option will be brought in.Open ControlsRojo won't play as a WB he will play as a CB. Shaw will be the LWB.
Open ControlsAnd we hardly have any CB cover. Rojo will still play as a CB.
Open ControlsHe'll be cover for CB and LWB for now. I would bet a wad of cash on it.
Open ControlsI like our youngsters but he probably needs to get more game time in cup fixtures etc first I believe. Still a bit too green.
Open Controls
When all are fit Shaw will play instead of Young and Valencia/Rafael instead of Januzaj. Fletcher will also rotate a lot.
Open Controls
Rojo is NOT a left back/left wingback, he played at centre back for Sporting
Open ControlsHe most certainly is. Played games for Sporting at LB and at Spartak Moscow as well.
Open ControlsHe has played games at left back but his preferred position and the position he will be played in at United is a left-sided centre back.
Open ControlsWhen he transferred to Sporting, he was being sought after by other teams as a LB.
Open ControlsHe will play left wingback for now, yes, but when Shaw is back fit I am 100% sure that he will play at centre-back. (United fan who spends quite a bit of time on forums)
Open ControlsThat's all fine in regards to Shaw. Just don't go around saying he's not a LB. (Benfica member and season ticket holder who's seen him play just about every match)
Open ControlsHow do you rate him, mate? In both positions...
Open ControlsI think he'll do well. His skill and flair for the dramatic can make him vulnerable to switch off at times, but he has improved that and is a good man marker and tackler. I can honestly seem fill in for Shaw (where his technical skill can come through), but solid at LCB as well.
Open ControlsThat's good, I'd rather someone that plays with passion than a guy frightened to make mistakes and then making them anyway.
Open Controls
Great, then you can confirm that he played CB for Sporting for the majority of last season?
Open Controls
You've no more idea than us about what his ideal position is. He was good at the WC.
Open ControlsHe only played left back at the world cup because Argentina had no one else.
Open Controls
Rojo is perfect for the LCB role because he can move over to LB when the wingback goes forward. Don't see why LVG would play him at wingback
Open ControlsDoubt Jones would play right wing back to be honest, would really think Valencia/Young/Rafael would all be ahead of him in that position.
Open ControlsRafael maybe but apparently he's well behind the curve right now. Valencia and Young are both not good enough, WB or not. And Jones is actually a very good attacking FB. Don't see why he wouldn't.
Open ControlsIf Jones plays RWB, who plays centre back next match? I mean, is Evans going to come up and even he does then it still means Blackett starts and while he looks promising for the future I'm not sure we can afford to do that?
Open ControlsJones would only go RWB if Evans is fit. And don't fear Blackett. He's class. We're not supposed to be a club afraid of playing youth and we've just brought in a manager who actually believes in youth, unlike Fergie in his latter years. Happy days.
Open ControlsActually you've convinced me on this one, the main reason our defence fell apart against Swansea was due to the wingbacks being useless and not being able to cover the defence, Blackett deserves a prolonged spell in the team.
Open Controls
Ok I am almost 100 % sure. Bojan will score away to Hull. I think we are ready for a cracker. Fantasy gods laughing to all those rotating Siggy and Bojan. I just don't have the guts to bench anyone from my front 7
Fabregas Mata Siggy Ramsey Lamela
Costa Rooney
Any candidates? Rambo, Mata maybe...?Open ControlsYeah and feel free to bookmark it, Bojan will score pts next week. And all of your Chester knee jerkers don't count on a CS. There I said it.
Hull after Europa League and with terrible defensive stats btwOpen ControlsNo need to bookmark....you speak the truth. Even if it didn't happen this week it will eventually happen. rotating a mid and striker is a recipe for leaving points on the bench!
BTW....i disagree on Bojan scoring....Bojan will get 2 assists setting up 2 Diouf goals 😉Open ControlsScoring fantasy pts. That is what I am talking about. You will all see
Open Controls
I really hope Bojan gets on the scoresheet next week
Open Controls
If someone I know started with Mangala in their FPL team does that make them a casual? :/
Open ControlsThoughts on my gw2 wc side
Krul (Elliott)
Ivanovic, Clyne, Chester (Hutton, Moore)
Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas, Siggy, Ward-Prowse
Costa (c), Aguero (Naismith)
This leaves me with 2.0 itb.
I have gone with Aguero instead of Rooney & I'll be playing 2 of Costa, Aguero, Rooney & Sturridge each week depending on fixtures. Is this a good strategy.Open ControlsI really like KUN....should pay off well especially when RVP returns, he will take away from Rooney. Sturridge/Kun combo will pay huge dividends going forward. Did you notice their H and A fixtures rotate wonderfully in the weeks forthcoming?
Open ControlsThanks CF. I feel Rooney is not the player he once was & that he captaincy will be a burden for him & also the point you raised re RVP. I also feel Sun away will be a tough game for MU. When I looked at the fixtures going forward that's when I decided to only play 2 & rotate.
Open Controls
So there isn't anymore Explosion imminent table by In Tommy we trust?
Open ControlsMata to Tadic and one of roo and Costa to aguero next week. Looks tempting
Open ControlsJust have a plan to get Sturridge in for GW4 and Aguero for GW6
Open Controls
Whats going on with the price rise system?! Siggy has gone from around 200k to 450k ownership in 3 days yet still only 0.1 rise... Very odd
Open ControlsThinking in the next few GW's, if Mata does not perform: Mata > 5.5, Dzeko > Aguero.
If that looks shite to all of you, How about: Rooney/Costa > Aguero, Dzeko > Bojan? + Upgrade mid.
Maybe? or Trash..Open ControlsMata will come good. Might want to plan on an exit strategy for Rooney after GW3.
Open Controls
Evening lads, risers tonight?
Open ControlsSterling, Chester, Cesc, Berahino. Notably not Siggy - at 200+% on fpl.
Open Controls
Wildcarding already and formed this team: Krul, Yoshida, Hutton, Chester, Siggy, Ramsey, Fab, Sterling, Rooney, Costa, Aguero Subs:Elliot, Pva, Marney, Moore. Question :is it really worth doing Yoshida+Chester/PVA+Aguero>Debuchy+Ivanovic+Dzeko?
Open Controlslol
