Our Friday regular arrives as the minutes tick down until tomorrow’s deadline. We continue with a three-part approach, taking in the weekly poll standings, the Opta player statistics and our Rate My Team projections to help steer your thoughts on the Captain conundrum.

The first section is free to view for all visitors to the site and will analyse the chief protagonists, as selected in our Gameweek poll. The latter two parts are restricted to our members, as we delve deeper into the Opta and Rate My Team data.

The Captain Poll

Chelsea dominate this week’s poll, with three of their players populating the top-four places ahead of a home encounter against promoted Leicester. Diego Costa leads the way with over 50% of the votes cast after he netted on his debut away to Burnley on Monday evening – the Spain international scored 18 of his 27 goals for Atletico Madrid at home last year and clearly offers a stronger option in front of his own fans.

Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard trail in Costa’s wake, with 14% and 6% respectively. The Spaniard’s 11-point haul at Turf Moor showed that, even when fielded in the Blues’ double-pivot, he has the ability to wreak havoc, while Hazard’s owners will be looking for the Belgian to replicate last season’s displays at the Bridge, where the Belgian scored 10 of his 14 league goals. Certainly, his owners will be looking for an improved display in the final third – Hazard, along with Fabregas, failed to register a single attempt against The Clarets.

One of the few Fantasy successes in United’s home defeat by Swansea, Wayne Rooney has been backed with the armband by 8%  ahead of a testing trip to Sunderland. With Robin van Persie reportedly set to feature at the Stadium of Light, though, Rooney’s 48% popularity in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game may be set for a drop as managers consider the 3%-owned Dutchman, who is likely to be handed spot-kicks by Louis van Gaal.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Aaron Ramsey and Raheem Sterling are all fancied to continue the form that served up a goal apiece in the opening weekend. Certainly, Sigurdsson looks the most promising of the bunch here as he prepares for a home encounter with Burnley – having averaged 5.7 points per game in his first spell with Swansea, a role in “the hole” looks vital to his prospects. Ramsey and Sterling face tougher tasks, though – trips to Everton and City are far from certain to bring home the points.

Sigurdsson’s team-mate Wilfried Bony has been overlooked. The Ivorian netted 13 times in his final 18 appearances of 2013/14 yet has so far received a mere 62 votes, whilst Sergio Aguero, as the most popular City option, has so far earned less than 1% of the votes cast and looks another differential armband option capable of delivering in style.

Two Glaswegians, Archie and Jimmy, are sitting in the pub discussing Jimmy's forthcoming wedding.

"Och, it's all goin' pure brilliant," says Jimmy. "Ah've got everythin' organised awready, the fluers,
the kirk, the caars, the reception, the wee rings, the min'ster, even ma stag nite".

    Archie nods approvingly.

"Ah've even bought a kilt to be married in!" continues Jimmy.

"A kilt?" exclaims Archie, "That's magic, ye'll look pure smart in that. What's the tartan?"

"Och," says Jimmy, "Ah'd imagine she'll be in white."

Man walks into new bar and starts drinking, after several pints he notices a large jar of money on shelf.
Asks bar man what that is for.
Bar man says that is ten pound challenge, you put ten pounds in and we give you the three challenges and if you complete them you get all the money.
Guy puts ten pounds in, and bar man says, first you need to drink a full bottle of tequila straight, then you have to go out back and removes sore tooth from my Rottweiler with these pliers. Finally you need to go upstairs and pleasure my 75 year old 30 stone sister for an hour.
Guy thinks about and says no it ain't possible . After a few more drinks he is completely sloshed and jumps up and grabs the bottle and downs the tequila in one.
He then staggers out the back to the dog, half an hour of barking, screaming and yelping he staggers back in and says, " ok where is the old woman with the sore tooth"

Interesting to see that Total FPL has seems to have adjusted its pricing to accomodate triple risers (sigurdsson is at 58%) whereas Fiso hasnt (168%). I yet to see proof that the pricing structure is different from last season...i think it almost identical...just needed time to adjust the calculations as shown with totalfpl

But that 200% was before totalfpl adjusted their percentage calculation to the correct amount which fiso is yet to do. So if they use calculations based on previous double price rises in a season (and there hasnt been any) the data (and the %) are by definition in accurate. Basically what im saying is that i doubt you'll see anyone on totalfpl going up to 200% before they increase in price for a 2nd time in the week (you might on fiso but thats cos its not working as well as totalfpl for price increase at the moment).....i shouldve been proven wrong or right by the end of the international break....but as i dont think theyre that different i may well have already played my WC by that point to take advantage of price increases

A man walks into a bar and orders a shot of whiskey then looks into his pocket. He does this over and over again. Finally, the bartender asks why he orders a shot of whiskey and afterwards look into his pocket.
The man responded, "I have a picture of my wife in there and when she starts to look good then i'll go home".
