I can see your logic, but wouldn't go completely without, big teams stay big by scoring points against all teams, may only be one goal but could still be 7-10 points from your man

Do United have a better defence than Villa ?...Not sure they do..Vlaar with Senderos looks pretty damned good.

I think with Rojo and Vlaar though they'd keep a fair few clean sheets.

Raging I took Vlaar out before the GW1 deadline for Rio because he rotated with the rest of my defence. But now Villa have some tough fixtures coming up so it puts me off Vlaar 😕

Okay, since we agree that as the price system has changed it is better to just take hits and get the players you want, what do you think I should do with my free transfer:

    Cameron > Huth?

There has been a couple of reports that said Cameron wants to leave

That's what you THINK. It's a tactical move. The real question is who will play? Cameron, Wilson or Huth?

Good idea, but I have Newcastle coverage,

I really want a Stoke defender (might not sound amzing but it's my plan 😉

Who will play more (long term) Huth, Wilson or Cameron?

                11 years, 10 months ago

Probably Huth if he finds a way into the Stoke side. He is currently injured. Keep an eye on it though

                1. HUMZAH96
                  11 years, 10 months ago

Must make my transfer today as Cameron will drop. He was their 1st choice with Shawcross but he was injured. He has a knock 75% chance of playing, so I expect he'll be back and ready for the LEI game (when I need him) 🙂

repost with some clarity (bottom of page too), a little help lads?

    ...................Begovic
    ....Kolarov - Azpilicueta - Chambers
    Fabregas - Yaya - Ramsey - Sigurdsson
    ........Naismith - Rooney - Costa

Gilks; Marney - Hutton - Baird

    0.9m itb, 1 FT

Yaya is dropping but I'm just going to take it on the chin though if it's clear that Di Maria will start vs Burnley I may do Yaya > Di Maria, but if not I think the following are my options:

    A) save FT
    B) Chambers > anyone at 4.5m that plays
    C) Bego > Krul
    D) Other?

I also think that Kolarov and Azpilicueta will still start this weekend, so thoughts? thanks!

Thinking about JUST this GW which would you prefer in your team?

    A. Dzeko (STO) - nice fixture but a bit off form and will he start? If he does, may get subbed.

    B. Ade (LIV) - tougher fixture but seems nailed on, coming into form and usually plays 90 mins

    Thanks.

Hi everyone, please any suggestions? This is a long term WC prospect. I know, it seems I am not fond of defenders, but can't decide between 3:5:2 and 3:4:3 yet and it's easier to downgrade attack later 🙂 Talk me out or into this. Werde dankbar fuer alle Vorschläge!

    Mannone Krul
    Wisdom Hutton Dummett Yoshida Taylor
    Lamela Sigurdsson Ramsey Mata Fábregas
    Rooney Costa Jovetic

    1. Courtois in the Rye
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 10 months ago

To be honest I just don't think there's all that much point considering a long term WC prospect unless you are pulling the trigger today or on Saturday lunchtime.

It looks pretty good, of course it does it's a WC team, but by the time you come to play it fixtures will have shifted for people like Yoshida and Taylor, Dummett and Wisdom will likely not be first choices and the Jovetic situation obviously needs monitoring.

It does however have a major flaw that you are going to be benching one of that front 8 every week and so you need a re-think.

    2. Tangogooner
      • 12 Years

      Similar to my team

I would downgrade llamela to a 4.5 and bench them and

      Upgrade cesc to hazard.

    • 12 Years

This article reassures me on Sturridge, surely he is going to get very consistent returns from GW4 and even on Sunday - the Spurs defence wasn't exactly tested against QPR and against West Ham they conceded lots of chances, just the finishing was woeful (and some good goalkeeping thrown in).

    1. Valar(Keith)
      • 16 Years

it's so tempting downgrading him to Jovetic/Adebayor and gettin Sterling instead though. tough one

      1. Courtois in the Rye
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 10 months ago

It's very tempting I agree - downgrade to Adebayor and I can do Ashley Young to Lamela or Henderson to Mata for free.

Or do say Henderson to Mutch and Sturridge to Aguero.

But having bought him knowing he'd likely blank in GW2 I don't think I'll waiver.

        1. Valar(Keith)
          • 16 Years

the problem is there's not 4th mid id really want at the moment priced below 7.5(Which lets me keep Sturridge). If DeJong looks good tonight i may continue with Rooney Costa Sturridge upfront. or i may just swap Costa to free up midfield funds.

          1. Courtois in the Rye
            • 12 Years

Just had a look at your team - we are pretty similar overall: Costa, Rooney, Sturridge, Ramsey, Chester, Terry, Newcastle def.

At the moment I'd be tempted to move Rooney out rather than Costa.

Current thinking is I need to get out of Ashley Young so thinking DDG and Young to Krul and Siggi. Feels a bit reactionary as United won't be this bad forever but don't want to disturb the CSR forward line yet.

De Jong your best bet but he's still easing in after an injury... I'd probably go with Tadic - good vision, fixtures and a big differential.

Chadli is worth monitoring, if he's as involved as he was at the weekend he could keep scoring good points

Surely not worth the risk with the likes of Townsend and Lennon waiting on the bench?

Maybe wait until Eriksen's price drops...

This might really throw a spanner in the works and is only a consideration but Di Maria signing if/when it happens surely LVG has to change the system to accommodate a player that expensive in order to get the best out of him. What I'm getting at is could 4-3-3 be on the cards with Rooney or Van Persie shunted out to one of the wings. He can't seriously be thinking of using him like he is with Young and Valencia at the moment and I can't see him replacing Mata when Van Gaal's already complained about having too many 'number 10' options at the club

Can't believe how quickly prices are falling in comparison to the rises

Have made a decent enough start 2500 rank yet have already lost money on Mata and several others already coming under pressure. Hate to think what it must be like for those who made a bad start

Already about to take a hit to get Bego out. And now Sturridge will probably drop a penny due to Lambert's "exploits" yesterday and Balo coming in.

Yeah, maybe to do with the new formulas on price changes. You really can't afford to lose money on players this season otherwise your team gradually erodes.

The new price system is ruining the game. Players values are falling as per last seasons rules but the changes for the the price rises is penalising insight, prediction and judgement.

agree but we have to adapt to it and play the game as best we can. Normally I treat the first half of the season as a casino to build TV and then calm down on the hits but this season means taking less hits will pay of from now asTV will play less of a part in the second half of the season

Not a member of this site but looking at general OPTA stats... Jovetic's brace last night was not simply luck. His stats are fantastic. Lots of chances created, lots of touches and shots, and an excellent work-rate evident. Looks hungry to impress Pelle given the chance he's getting...

Expecting a big improvement from utd this week. Think just the arrival of de Maria will be enough to give them all a lift. Can't see them playing quite as badly as last week

Hopefully it gives them a morale boost - and gives Mata and Rooney a lift. If Di Maria can link up well and improve United's flow then I think they'll pick up the scoring pace, and against the three promoted teams back to back I wouldn't bet against it...

    D. Chambers + Dzeko -> Clyne + Jovetic (2FTs)
