After kicking off our series of Big Numbers articles with a look at the best performing Defenders over the first three Gameweeks, we now move further up the pitch. This time round we focus on midfielders, with a trio of summer signings all showing plenty of promise in their new surroundings.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

That's a mess. Hutton won't get a cleansheet in a million years, he will probably end with 1. So yeah a 4 point hit in that situation is ok if it's for the long term

If Sturridge was out for longer, I'd say 'B'. He's only expected to miss this weekend though, so will share more points with Balotelli.

Morning guys. FT used. Time to hit wildcard?

    Jones (Doubtful)

Wait for Friday. I reckon Hazard and Costa will play (not basing that on much). Bojan needs to go. Jones shouldn't be too serious. If you have a bench, use it. Rooney out isn't necessary. Do you have just the 1 playing keeper?

Personally I would not risk balotelli. U have Sterling for Liv cover. Downgrade to Welbeck, and get Ramsey in for Tadic. But hey who knows Tadic and Balo could perform. Just a little risky

      • 11 Years

I'm on the wait and see side for Falcao. Atleast for 1 gw. Would much rather have Rooney this week with cash and make the move next week if he's confirmed to start. Don't think the investment is worth the risk of a 30min appearance. Is Fazio expected to replace Kaboul? I don't know, but I'd keep an eye out for that, think you can drop down to a 4.5 there - Lovren, Clyne and Wilson have pretty easy fixtures for a while and so wouldn't hurt to save on the 4th def.

I'm on WC and can't decide between: (All assuming Costa is fit, which I'm sure he will be)

    1) Costa Balo Welbeck
    2) Costa Aguero Naismith

Balo has the fixtures and the prime position with sturr likely out.
Aguero has the talent to score whenever he wants.
Welbeck is a potential exploder too.

    Krul / Foster

    Jones / Shawcross / Clyne / Coloccini / Wisdom

    Mata / Ramsey / Sterling / Tadic / Siggy

    Costa / Rooney / Naismith

    Currently have 1 FT left:

Rooney -> Welbeck? Would save me money to so Tadic -> a top midfielder

    Rooney Costa Jovetic

    Elliott Debuchy Albrighton Hutton
    1 million in the bank

Dont really like Terry, Debuchy, Eriksen and Jovetic but cant take all of em out at once. Jovetic seems to be the priority out.. so
    A) Jovetic to Welbeck
    B) Jovetic to Welbeck, Eriksen to Fabregas (-4)
    C) Debuchy to 4.5, Jovetic to Balotelli (-4)
    any other suggestions?

        nope, Evans is 0.1m cheaper.

I'm on my WC, so if I get a 0.1 price rise from someone in the next few days it could happen, but probably won't.

It's an option, I would like to have at least one defender from one of the bigger clubs ideally.

Going for Fabregas over Hazard would solve this probably, but I really want Hazard also, think he will be the top scoring midfield player this year.

                Thanks for the feedback

For both of those reasons. If you want anyone in the United defense, which I don't even want to touch right now, try Blackett.

I was thinking Blackett will be the player to go now that Rojo is available?

If Utd stick with the back 3 then Jones - Evans - Rojo will be the three to play?

Admittedly Evans has been poor in the few games I've seen him play, but Utd have good fixtures, and they have to come good soon, right?

                  Jones is injured.

Evans won't get a look in. He's been shite.

If anything, it could be Shaw, Rojo, Jones...

But I rate Blackett. He's cheap too.

Surely Shaw will play wing back, coming in for Young.

                        Yeah, Rojo is, Shaw isn't

                        It'll be interested to see how Utd line up, but I think if they stick to 3 - 5 - 2 it'll be;

                        DDG

                        Jones - Evans - Rojo

                        Valencia - Shaw

                        Herrera - Blind

                        Di Maria

                        Falcao - Rooney

I have Moreno in my side, but thinking about it, is he really going to be much better than some of the 4.5 options. Liverpool have champions league and he has Enrique breathing down his neck.

Wilson for instance has a similar kind run of fixtures and is a million cheaper. Yes Moreno scored last week but looking at his record it not something that happens often. That million saved could come in quite useful if spent elsewhere

Doos has gotten to you too I see!

He was on my watch list even before the Tottenham game last week, with attacking full backs benefiting from bonus points this year I was trying to get as many in my defense as possible.

I still think he will do well this year in an attacking Liverpool side.

People here seem to prefer Naismith over Welbeck. But I see welbeck as a permanent option while naismith would only be temporary, and Id want to use transfers elsewhere in the future... What do you think?

Also is it worth getting Balotelli rather than welbeck or naismith by downgrading a 4.5 defender for a hit?

Naismith will be a regular if he keeps his form up which I think he will. He's been impressive every time I've seen him. Wenger rotates his strikers a lot even when Giroud was in form. Can see Welbeck and Sanogo rotating often

Is there an update on Costa? Reason I ask is that a few days ago Silva said he should be fine, now I am seeing plenty of posts for him to be shipped out.
