A number of forwards come under assessment this evening, with Liverpool, United and West Ham’s new frontmen all analysed, whilst we also take a look at City’s resurgent Bosnian, Chelsea’s midfield and Swansea’s worrying lack of impact in the final third.

Anyone care to help with my defensive woes?
Who the heck do I start, Chester hoping he gets a start? Just don't know!

    Begovic
    Clyne - PvA - Kelly
    ADM - Sterling - Tadic - Siggy
    Costa - Aguero - Welbeck

    Gilks -- Marney - Ferdinand - Chester

Might as well start Chester and hope for a start. Over Kelly, IMO.

Can't make any more transfers. Defence was supposed to get sorted this week but had Rooney and Ramsey to deal with

Sorry to reply, didn't get much feedbacks...

How would you rate my team on a scale from 1 to 10?

    Heaton
    Ivanovic Clyne Duff (Wisdom Bruce)
    Hazard Siggy Sterling Mane (Elmohamady)
    Costa Aguero Pelle

    0FT / 0.5 ITB

Looking to bring baines in next GW.

    1. crteer
      12 years, 28 days ago

Pretty solid, but who's your other keeper?

Heaton had a poor game, and don't think he will be keeping a clean sheet against Leicester this coming game week.

Ivanovic -> Baines next week for free seems logical.

All in all, probably a 7.5/8 out of 10.

My other GK is Gilks... I know :S

    2. st4rt__
      12 years, 28 days ago

That's a strong 8/10, I'd say your defence isn't in a great place for GW7. Interesting choice with Mane. Hazard's bound to start firing soon, been incredibly influential this season, stats don't do him justice at the moment.

difficult decision this week as an Arsenal fan ,

    Costa(C) to or not to

    1. The Man Pastore
      12 years, 28 days ago

      I'd di it

      1. crteer
        12 years, 28 days ago

I did Pelle for the differential this week, which seemed to slightly pay off, but the rest of my team didn't perform so didn't make too much in the way of movement.

Think Costa is a good decision in any case, even much as it hurts as an Arsenal fan. I can see goals being scored in that fixture, probably 3 - 1 to Arsenal.

I'm tossing up between Costa/Aguero for this game week.

    2. st4rt__
      12 years, 28 days ago

Given the way Costa's started and we're at the Bridge, wouldn't surprise me if gives us a Drogba-esque performance and runs riot with you.

If Ramsey will be injured for more than 1 week, take a hit. He ll drop definitely at least 0.1 and you ll lose points and TV.

    Save FT?

    Mannone (Heaton)

Moore, Baines, N. Taylor (Clyne, Wisdom)

    Aguero, Costa, Welbeck

    1 FT, 0 in Bank

    Begovic

    Aguero Costa Pelle

    Gilks; Davis, Duff, Wisdom

    1. crteer

Very close to my team, but haven't pulled the trigger on bringing Aguero in just yet.

Awaiting the Champs League results this week to know for sure.

Otherwise you're in good nick if you've played the hit already.

Thoughts on this lot guyz.Any help appreciated !!

    Forster
    Clyne Wilson Duff
    Ramsey* Sterling Fab ADM Siggy
    Costa Falcao

    Elliot Hutton Chambers Wood
    0.4 in bank
    0 FT(Rooney>Falcao already done)
Thinking to get Lukaku but will need -8 hit. Yay or Na ??
Had a nightmare GW,So need to bounce back.

    1. crteer
      12 years, 28 days ago

If you've had a poor week already, taking an 8 point hit won't help fix that - may only make it worse.

Would suggest taking an -4 hit downgrading Ramsey to Downing to free up funds for Baines from next week onwards?

Tadic is solid, with good fixtures coming up, but think Downing has two good fixtures coming up and you will want Baines from next week.

    Begovic | McCarthy

    Clyne | Moreno | Bertrand | Duff | Wisdom

Di María | Sterling | Fábregas | Schneiderlin | Sigurdsson

Welbeck | Falcao | Diego Costa

Really looking to get Baines in but. Not sure of the route to go down to get him in. Stubbornly going to keep Falcao as I love that guy. Thoughts appreciated, have 2 FT and £0.0 ITB

    1. crteer

To get Baines in, you could downgrade Schneiderlin and Siggy -> Boyd and Downing this game week, and then perhaps Moreno -> Baines next week?

I don't think RVP will be explosive enough this season, especially with so many team mates looking to get on the scoresheet such as Falcao, Mata, ADM, and Rooney (when back). I'd only want to spend 12m+ on a player who I know will score most of the teams goals.

^^ This. Aguero is one of the few 'must haves' if history is anything to go by. To ignore him is to deny what he's capable of and what he's proven to be as an excellent FPL prospect.

Kind of wish I chose Pelle now, not because of goals/points, but moreso because his price will/is going up quicker

I'm tempted to roll with both Welbeck & Pellé along side Costa.

That extra £5 mill practicaly buys you a Downing!

2 out of Costa, Aguero and Sturridge +1 out of Welbeck, Pelle, and maybe Dzeko or even Adebayor.

Wise people will steer clear of Dzeko (game time), and Adebayor (consistency). I think the other 4 are all valid though. Sturridge of course would need to be passed fit.

Dzeko and Adebayor are good short term picks when Pelle and Welbz have tough fixtures but i agree they are not the best or the safest medium or long term picks

    Good to go?

    DDG
    Cahill Clyne Duff (Dummet Chester)
    ADM Siggy Sterling Downing (Marney)
    Costa Aguero Pelle

    On -4.

    Worth WC now?

no need to WC. Only problems are DDG and Dummet/Chester but can be taken care of next time. Who is your second GK? Might as well play him over DDG - Manu just cannot get a CS atm

I have the same Fwds and have decided that whilst I have Aguero I will keep my WC - that way I can sort out the mess if Aguero is off for a few weeks (I have learnt from previous seasons). Your team is fine for now.

What to do this week... ?

    A)
    Downing - Fabregas - Sterling - ADM - Siggy
    Costa - Ulloa

    With Pelle on the bench

    B)
    Costa - Ulloa - Pelle

    Then bench a midfielder?

    1. Puyol Pants Up
      12 years, 28 days ago

Thats a tough one 😯 I would bench Pelle

        1. Venom Snake

        2. st4rt__

You'd bench Fabregas against Arsenal at home? As a Chelsea fan I don't think I could bring myself to it, your first reply is what I initially thought, think Downing could get a hella load of points this week, on corners, been playing in the hole, Burnley should get hammered

          1. Puyol Pants Up
            12 years, 28 days ago

I agree on the Downiing point (They are playing QPR though). Pelle is on fire, Tottenham haven't been great defensively and them rotating there central defenders every game isn't helping. Fab has been playing deep since Ramires has been injured and as you can see he has not been delivering. Playing against his old club doesn't change anything imo.

          2. Sebbo29
            12 years, 28 days ago

            You mean QPR, right?

    2. Sebbo29
      12 years, 28 days ago

that's exactly why i would not want to have 8 attacking options with good potential returns every GW. Always a benching headache. Really tough one but i would probably bench Pelle

      1. st4rt__
        12 years, 28 days ago

I'd rather have 8 strong attacking options than 6-7 with weak options off the bench or whatever, tbh

      1. Sebbo29
        12 years, 28 days ago

good point. I would wait until tonight's match though. If Newcastle are really bad and concede a lot then I would not bench Siggy

Of all their misses thus far, taking a defender from the most defensive minded team this year is what annoys you?

  23. Djerbil
    12 years, 28 days ago

In terms of transfers this week:

    Out:
    Rooney 159k
    Naismith 36k

    In:
    Pelle 61k
    Ulloa 53k
    Dzeko 45k

lot of people actually downgrading on Rooney instead of moving up

      1. FantaCity
        12 years, 28 days ago

I think they will bounce back, but Trigger was right to point out that they will eventually have to go on the attack - this may have been what they were trying at W Brom - and then they'll get aught out

    2. Rhinos

Not having a go at trigger but refuse to credit someone for pointing out that the favs for relegation mau not have a watertight defence the whole season. Burnley defs cheap makeweights in your squad, they do a job

        1. FantaCity
          12 years, 28 days ago

That's not really what he was saying, the point was more that the cleansheets achived already were as a result of chancing a zero attack, and that as soon as they open up to score points, they will be less likely to keep cleanies - irrespective of the normal run of things. I argued against him, so felt like I should hold my hand up when things seemed to prove him right immediately

    WC Option A (kun delight):

    Manone Heaton
    Azpili Duff Chambers Wisdom Bertrand
    ADM Sterling Siggy Jedinak Fabra
    Costa Augero Ulloa

    OR

Option B (who needs a defence?):

    Manone Heaton
    MOORE Duff Chambers Wisdom Bertrand
    ADM Sterling Siggy Jedinak Fabra
    Costa Augero PELLE

    basically a question of:

    Azpili/Ulloa or Moore/Pelle
