Christian Benteke could be set to return to the Villa squad to face City. Daniel Sturridge remains a doubt for Liverpool. The central midfield woes build for Burnley, Stoke have worries out wide for their trip to Sunderland, Hull are set to be without their number one keeper for the next month, whilst Nacho Monreal may be back for Arsenal.

Sean Dyche faces a problem in central midfield ahead of the trip to Leicester. The Burnley boss has confirmed that Dean Marney and David Jones are still unavailable, whilst Nathaniel Chalobah is also ruled out after sustaining a throat injury during a midweek reserve outing.

Christian Benteke looks set to return to the Villa squad for the first time in months. The Belgian turned out for the reserves in midweek as he steps up his recovery from an anterior ligament injury, though Paul Lambert has admitted Ron Vlaar is likely to miss out yet again as City roll up to Villa Park.

Steve Harper is set to start for Hull’s home encounter with Palace after Allan McGregor was ruled out for around four weeks with a shoulder injury.

Nacho Monreal has a chance of returning in time for Arsenal’s trip to Chelsea, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier this morning.

Mame Biram Diouf is unavailable for Stoke this weekend after sustaining a hamstring injury in Monday’s win over Newcastle. Victor Moses is expected to shake off a minor thigh problem in time for the trip to Sunderland.

Wes Brown is available for the Black Cats once again after missing out with a calf complaint last weekend. Emmanuel Giaccherini remains a doubt for Gus Poyet’s side, though.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted he’ll have to “wait and see” over Daniel Sturridge’s fitness as Liverpool prepare to face West Brom. The Reds boss has confirmed the likes of Joe Allen, Emre Can, Jon Flanagan, Glen Johnson and Mamadou Sakho remain sidelined.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Thoughts on who to replace Ramsey for a -4 hit?

    Foster, Krul
    Clyne, Naylor, Hutton, Wilson, Manquillo
    Siggy, Albrighton, Lamela, Sterling, _____
    Pelle, Aguero, Lukaku

Looking at Tadic, Mata, Silva, Hazard, Fab, Ozil, YYT, Sanchez, god there's loads to choose from but nothing that stands out.

Why don't you just play 4 at the back and bench hutton?
Save the minus 4, then look at it next week

Embarrassing. Rodgers is already trying to wash his hands of responsibility for Balotelli

I dont understand how he is trying to wash his hands, everyone knew and I dont remember Pool trying to disquise that bringing in Balo was a gamble.

        • 14 Years
        11 years, 2 months ago

And Balo knows himself that this is his last chance at a biggish club. That is how it works for clubs with limited funds. Dont you think Danny(although one of my favorite players) was a gamble?

not to the same extent. he has work rate and still contributes when not scoring. also Wenger wouldn't be coming out with this stuff if Welbz wasn't scoring. it was only right at the very end after one incident too many that he stopped talking up Bendtner after all

            11 years, 2 months ago

Hard to tell who is right here, you seem to think he is throwing Balo under the bus here. I think he just knows it wont be easy but he can provide value for 16 mil and be a solid 15 goal striker

            1. Kostja
              • 14 Years
              11 years, 2 months ago

I appreciate that he is not giving us BS how this is sort of all part of the plan or Balo is playing great, team just not creating chances. This is open declaration that more is expected from Balo. And if Liverpool want to save this season he is the man who has to step up IMO

probably somewhere in the middle. this tactic could be to fire up Balotelli and motivate him. but to me it seems like Brendan is trying to avoid responsibility

he said other targets fell through and balo was the last option... sounds like he is trying to make excuses for why balo won't work already to me

That is probably true on most transfers, you get the best that is available for that money. U really think United would not have Vidal instead of Blind or smthn. I agree with you that he is complaining a bit, but I can see why, when the club have an opportunity to stay in the CL and to compete there and than they dont provide the funds. Liverpool should have been top spender this pre season IMO, considering the leap they have to make. I bet they could have gotten Falcao if they really would have showed intent.

That is true, I forgot about that, I guess I just kind of feel bad for them. I have loads of cash on them not being in top 4 this season. So sad to see Rodgers really not being able to do anything about it at all.

        Exactly this.

In fact, if we go back a bit. He didn't have to buy any of the Soton boys, Migs or even Sakho. A lot of money could be generated for a really big player or maybe even two. Instead, he played moneyball.

it does work sometimes though. when united were suffering from mourinho's dominance at chelsea we signed Carrick from Spurs and that was our only signing. he had a great season and we got the title back.

Is Alexis Sanchez gonna be an option soon? No longer an OOPtion as Welbeck gonna lead the line and his gametime looks far from guaranteed of late. However, he is on a few set pieces and is a huge goal threat as compared to other premium mids(until wally returns) and has fantastic fixtures. Can either swap Eriksen for Silva this week or wait until next week and get Sanchez instead with a Terry to Chambers downgrade.

Fair enough... But welbz gives you better (arguably) attacking coverage of same team for substantially less budget leaving cash for a big defender (leighto Barnes from gw8) or mid (loads of me doing good) so overall, your team should be better off... Its very subjective admittedly & a Sanchez hattrick wouldn't be long changing things... But I'm not sold yet

Welbeck nailed to my team since he moved.. Wally will come straight back in when fit(prob gonna be a while with a lot of sub appearances).. until then sanchez can keep his spot warm 🙂

Siggy - Fab - Sterling - Di Maria (Henderson)

      Ulloa - Welbeck - Costa

      (c) Ulloa this week

changes to your team, i'd look at defence. i'm not fussed on moreno and ivan in mine at min for their price, so looking for replacements, prob double up on saints, an get bertrand. or tie shawcross to begovic. think i'll be bringing in baines when I have the cash.

    -------------Bego---------------
    Shawcross---------Blackett -----------Clyne

    FAB------Sterling------Mane----- ADM-------Siggy

    ----Ulloa-----------Costa
    Subs. GK McCarhty---Welbeck---Duff-----Cissokho

I see in loads of teams people have 2 Saints players so I'm gonna go for it myself. I can't see Welbeck scoring V Chelsea but I've been wrong many times before.

Feel free to scorn me... 😛

I would go with your thinking here. Can see Chelsea beating the gunners to nil.

Love it Flynner nice to see someone on the same wavelength. Its these choices that make or break you I think.

I think I'm going for Costa, despite owning Aguero.

Own both , and am really torn. So I'll probably flip a coin.

I did this 2 weeks back for Baines/Rooney.

Landed on rooney and ended with 8, where I could have had more (penalty)! Darn coin.

Haven't RMT since GW1 so here we go.
Any advice for the next 5 weeks appreciated. 🙂

Siggy - if he blanks one more goodbye
Chester - goodbye if on bench again
Jedanik - been getting me goals so a good sub! and only 4.9

League position pretty healthy so I don't think any major changes

    Bego (Myhill)
Taylor -- Clyne --Moore (Duff) (Chester)
    Siggy-- Sterling-- ADM --Fab (Jedanik)
    Pelle --Costa © --Aguero

    thanks xxx

Ya chester is the one to sort out there. Villas fixtures come good soon so possibly hutton.

Id hold on Siggy....He'll come good

Jedinak like you said is good value.

Have a bit of a dilemma here

Jedinak Vs Hull or Naismith Vs Man Utd.......Who to play?

Jedinak playing well for Palace...On penalties aswell.

Naismith playing upfront. Utds defensive problems aswell

Who should I play do you guys think?

Tough decision. I would probably go for Jedinak because of his fixture and the fact he is on penos.

    Currently on Heaton and Clyne.

      Forster
      Clyne

Can't see Burnley keeping a cleanie, Saints have the slightest chance of doing so.

    Taylor - PVA - Clyne

    Costa (C) - Aguero - Ulloa

    Bench: Caulker, Albrighton, Wisdom.

    Correct to bench Caulker?

True. But he's still managed a couole of assists in that time, the guy is quality, surely its just a matter of time before he comes good

Not sure about 'due' as he hasn't looked great, but he could well score this weekend with Rooney out, yes.

if he really sucks get Danny next week instead, I dont think you need costa now if you already have missed this early surge. He is a sure bet to slow down a bit

Yeah I'm regretting it.. but a man can only play FPL 2014/2015 so many weeks in a row without Costa.. sold him after gwk 2 when he was injured:p
