Our quest to get the better of Paddy sees us turn to a couple of in-form budget Fantasy forwards, whilst Chelsea’s former Gunners skipper also comes into consideration as the two go head-to-head at the Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Leicester’s home encounter with Burnley brings Leonardo Ulloa onto our radar. The Argentine has netted in every match in front of his own supporters in the league, and with Paddy willing to offer 16/1 on Ulloa to score two or more and the Foxes to keep out their opponents, we’re willing to fork out £3, bearing in mind that Burnley have failed to score in the last five Gameweeks.

Next up is Upton Park, where the Hammers’ Diafra Sakho is looking to score for the fifth successive match in all competitions. Paddy are offering 25/1 for the Senegal star to score two or more and West Ham to register a clean sheet – with the R’s scoring just once in three road trips, we shell out £3 for the Sunday afternoon encounter.

Our bet of the week is kept for Stamford Bridge, where league leaders Chelsea play host to Arsenal. Paddy are offering 7/1 on Cesc Fabregas to score and the Blues to register a clean sheet – we reckon the Spaniard could follow the recent exploits of Frank Lampard and come back to haunt his former club ,so hand over our remaining £4.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

When I checked yesterday, Liverpool had the shortest odds of any PL team to win this weekend. Thought West Brom were value at 7/1! 😉

        Quite like it.

        But...

Janmaat and Moreno both look like decent (sometimes excellent) attacking options but in terrible defences. Bardsley isn't the best option either - at that price IMO. It's quite an expensive defence but I don't see the value in it.

        Quite a lightweight MF

Falcao is a good choice - should start to see returns. Dzeko vs. Jovetic is a concern.

i feel the same about my defenders and quite happy with that midfield

I'd be looking to make some money from downgrading DF and getting in Costa + Aguero + (£7-8m)

Aguero going to be the hottest prospect this year. Injury free that is.

I keep getting (good) advice around here to fix my keeper situation

      Krul/McCarthy

It's pretty obvious that Krul isn't the best GK around these days. But what are the alternatives? I have a defence of SOU/SWA/STO/SUN/AVL, and is cautious about doubling up on any of them. That excludes Forster, Fabianski, Mannone and Begovic.

I would rather not spend big on a GK either. The top teams are out of the question. That leaves me with the likes of Ben Foster, Kasper Schmeichel, Speroni and maybe Adrian.

Is any of these GKs going to give me a substantial better return than Krul over the next 5-6 GWs? I'm not so sure. And the Six Game Projeection back up that notion. I think I would feel more comfortable using those FTs to tweak other parts of my team over the international break.

Long story short: Even though Krul is not the best option around, is it really worth a FT getting rid of him? I'm open to it being a good move, but when you forget about how bad Krul looks at the team sheet for a moment, and consider the potential return from the alternatives, is it rational?

Rest of the team, for what it's worth:

      Clyne - PVA - Wilson - N. Taylor - Hutton
Di Maria - Fabregas - Sterling - Siggy - Boyd
      Costa - Falcao - Welbeck

I don't think it's too risky doubling up on Saints, so Forster for me - just play the keeper on their weaker fixtures

Most if not all alternatives will outscore Krul by 4 points over 5-6 weeks, making the transfer logical

in my opinion, he isn't the kinda player who would score more than 10 goals all season. not to mention he hasn't yet showed us his biggest asset, Red-Cards / Suspensions magnetism.

        Fabregas 10000000000%.

Old Arsenal player, playing them for the first time, at home. Goal or red card. But can't see him being quiet.

And Clyne. Still offers goal/assists in what could be a good return for saints against old boss.

I think that's a bit too simple guideline. I would rather think it through one more time, deciding who I'll feel/think will be the best option. And I worry more about the ownership in my mini leagues than in the FPL as a whole.

Posted this yesterday. Ended up persuading myself!

          The case for Siggy©

          Pros
          + Newcastle at home
+ Likely to play "in the hole"
+ Has FPL history plus a goal and 4 assists this season
+ No CL game earlier in the week
          + 4th highest owned player

          Cons
          - Has blanked in his last 3
          - Costa and Aguero are considered safer picks
          - Costa owned by practically every active team

I think the main reason why Siggy will be overlooked with the arm band is his form. Also, as the highest owned player, Costa is the safer pick, no question. But taking a closer look at form shows that while Siggy has blanked in his last 3, he has not been helped by circumstances Swansea have found themselves in.

          che - 2 pts
SOU - 2 pts (Bony sent off in the first half)
sun - 3 pts (Rangel sent off)

For me, there are valid reasons why Siggy has gone from returning 29 points in his first 3 games to 7 in his last 3, which do not necessarily suggest a dip in form.

I'm not trying to persuade anyone here. Captain Costa or Aguero, they are very good picks, but up against a woeful Newcastle at home this week, I think Siggy is still a very good option.

            Oh cheers bud
Eventhough I am certainly captaining Siggy today, I can already see the future.

Costa scores a couple tonight and then everyone (including th army of Captain Hindsights) says 'told you so' and our apparent bravery turns out to be idiocy 🙁

At least we can say we tried eh

Firstly, I don't think it is idiocy - the two weakest teams in the prem at the minute are Newcastle and QPR. While I'd never captain Downing, he is playing well for West Ham and is in a prime position to get attacking points vs QPR.

Siggy shouldn't be considered a risk as a captain. He has FPL pedigree and has gone off the boil in the past 3 games for what look to be extenuating circumstances.

It'll probably all boil down to Aguero, Costa and Siggy scoring roughly the same points, but I'm going to have to go with my gut and reasoning on this one.

Absolutely. Folk were saying he's lost form but playing Chelsea away then two games where Swansea found themselves down to 10 men, are valid reasons why he hasn't kept up the FPL returns imo.

Don't waste a transfer then. If it's for the mid-long term, go for Sterling and Kun.
