As we brace ourselves for the second international break of the season, our Sunday members regular delves into the Gameweek 7 data. United’s record signing, City’s in-form frontman and Swansea’s resurgent striker are amongst this evening’s topics, as we also analyse the recent displays of a number of favourably priced midfielders across the last few Gameweeks.
Terry/Schmeichel
or
Azpilcueta/West ham GKB by far.
B
B erry day
The last 2 weeks I've done my transfers early and as a result I've slid from 15k - 70k.
Need to take my time, there will always be options regardless of budget.Guess you just got the wrong players.
I've done transfers early too in an effort to build team value, as later in the season having $$$ is critical. Have slid by taking some hits, but saved WC for the eventual double gameweeks.
You'll have time to get back up the rankings ... long season
Chambers: any cetain degreee of certainty he will drop bak to 4.5 by end of intl break? given he shall b suspended.
need the extra .1 to get him in at 4.5I doubt it because of the standard of his fixtures after that
who cares he's a keeper until debuchy comes back in 2-3 months
Moreno and Dzeko > PVA and Aguero for -4
Yes or no?No chance.
Why?
Just because its so tight at the moment. -4 means so much.
I would infect save the FT if yo are thinking that. Moreno is probably 50/50 to get a clean.
I would wait.
PvA?
Really struggling this season and tempted to use the wildcard now only thing preventing me is that I like my front 7. Team is:
Krul/Foster
JT, Chambers*, Pieters*, Naylor, Coloccini (I know)
Sterling, Tadic, Fab, Siggy, Marney*
Aguero, Costa, Pelle
0 itb, 1 ft and currently sliding into oblivious at 550K. The defense is a shambles, just wondering if it warrants a wildcard?i wouldn't use the wildcard. Would do the following to shore up the defense over the next few weeks
1) Colo > Hutton
2) Chambers > Duff
3) JT > Baines
4) Krul > Guzan
Rest of the team looks good imo
To WC or not to WC?
I'll be honest, it's mainly to jump on ADM before he hurts my rank further. I'd also take the chance to optimise a few other parts of the team, e.g. look at Baines, Wanyama>Boyd, drop Moreno/Chester, sort GKs.
Krul (Foster)
Bertrand, Moreno, Chambers, (Moore, Chester)
Siggy, Fabregas, Silva, Sterling, (Wanyama)
Costa, Aguero, Pelle
Many thanks in advance!Don't WC.
i'd hold off on the WC. There will be a point in time you really need it. I'd look to replace Moreno with Duff and use the extra funds to move Silva to ADM. Think you'll have enough $$$ rest of team looks pretty good.
Thanks for the replies. After much thought I think I'm gonna hold off on ADM. He's just had the best fixtures he's got for a while and it smells of chasing points. I think I'd rather keep my 4 points (or WC) and trust in Silva (fixtures) and Fab (form so far).
Think I may simply use my FT to get Chester out to avoid playing Moore away next week.
Thanks for the advice.
Was just thinking - with the teams being so similar this year if it stays like this say around gw 15 am i right in saying it will be harder to move up in rank and also to fall in rank significantly?
If so it would be paramount to get off to a good start and maintain a good rank up until halfway point othrwise would be very difficult to say go from 50k to 10k.
Am i making sense? :/Doesn't sound unreasonable, but there are always things that come along and blow up the template. By Christmas there will be plenty new players who are 'essential' and someone like Pelle might look silly.
Who's Pelle ?..never heard of him.....Cisse is the new Pelle...
Love Cisse. So glad hes back on form.
But the january wc will ensure active teams stay quite similar.
This is true. Maybe delay my prediction until later in the year, but it only takes a Costa torn hamstring (which must be coming!).
I've been with Trigger all along on this one. Thanks to the new price system we're already only really cheering our differntials. This normally doesn't happen till post Jan, for me it's been the case since GW3. Bit of an anti-climax when your just cheering defenders coz the rest is template
We were doing that in past seasons too. Every year people complain about the template, that never changes.
I can't remember it ever being soo template so early
But it wasnt so easy in getting the same players last season. This season managers can wait an extra 2-3 gws before bringing in a form player and his price wont be out of reach. Last year you had yo jump on yaya and ramsey wagons early.
Siggy thi season for example so easy to get in. All you have to do is downgrade a defender And on top of that cheap defenders are doing wellThey still end up waiting 2 or 3 weeks. That's not keeping up with the latest template
Yep. Will be good for players who are high up in rank albeit a bit boring.
Lets hope the template gets burst wide open in jan. Also fpl towers should really revert back to the old price system. This a complete fail. There were templates in previous seasons and there is a template this season. Nothing has changed
Need to find differentials when the template slows down. Lallana helped me last season in January along with one Hazard captaincy.
There will be plenty of good differentials this season just like any other season
I honestly like the new price system. Perhaps not for most on here, but it gives other players a much better crack. My brother, who is a very good FPL player, pretty much religiously makes his transfers on a friday night. This year he is doing much better than ever before, simply down to the fact that people like Clyne, Fabregas etc. haven't raced away from his budget earlier in the week. Makes it so much more competitive.
Hazard, Yaya, Silva, Sanchez, Walcott, Falcao, RVP, Sturridge, Balotelli etc could all break up the established order if they start scoring regularly.
With the template team so consistent, team captain and the occasional punt will be all the more important
Adrian
Azpilcueta- Naylor- Gibbs
Fabregas - ADM - Siggy - Gerrard - Sanchez
Welbeck - Costa
Subs: McCarthy-Hutton-Moore-Barnes
THOUGHTS?Not entirely comfortable with 352, but that aside I quite like the team. Different in places which is nice, and potentially profitable.
I would look to accomodate Walcott in a 3-5-2 system
Not a fan of Sanchez, otherwise good. I'd consider Downing ... bit of a punt ... and use the extra funds on a Baines or 3rd quality striker. Think Baines will come alive now that fixtures improve somewhat. He's like another midfielder.
If Cisse so much as sniffs another goal next week I'm on him..Newcastle have been creating bucket loads of chances this season with a donkey up front...
I was just watching the highlights when you wrote that. He could be a great option again (as could Benteke)
So could the 2.0 mill between them...Love them both though.
As ever I'm left wishing I had a 4th striker spot after reading, and agreeing, with that.
I'd consider him if Newcastle wasn't so bad. Could only trust Cisse to do well if Newcastle dominate the game or are at least even
Who is the best footballing child of a top class footballer?
Falcao
Slash that, Pele's adopted son, Pelle
The ex-West Brom guy? Good player he was. 😉
falcao
Is he really..who was his dad ?
Old man Falcao. I wasn't aware he had a footballing dad either
Got to be the Maldini's really...Not just footballing dad and son but top class footballing dad and son..
I think we're referring to the Brazilian of '82 & '86 (&maybe'90) world cups.
Paul Dalglish
Lampard count?
why not?
I would have gone with him, but reading Falcao above might have swung my vote.
Cruyff or Maldini
Daley Blind & Kaspar Schmeichal from current crops.
Lampard surely
Blomquist maybe - def not Cruyff, Jordi was pish.
The Cloughs & Fergusons, Nigel & Darren.
Bruce
Paul & Tom Ince.
enzo zidane
will Naismith or Scheneiderlin drop during int break?
I think Naismith will stay. Schneiderlin maybe
don't think either will drop
Begovic, Moreno and Ulloa to Mannone, Baines and Welback (-4)??
(need to downgrade Bego to 4.5 GK to finance this trade)I like it, though still not personally sold on Welbeck.
Best 4.5-4.6 Gk, only to go w/ him? sub will be a 4.0/
1.gusan 4.6
2.manone
3.fosterfoster
Guzan easily
guzan easy based on fixtures or better gk as a whole?
Better team, better fixtures, better defense ahead
wba is not too bad at defence. sun can get into streaks. but yes i see your pt, w avl maybe being th best defence as a whole enabling + potential CS.
i was leaning Vito for his saves streak etc, but his fixtures r not the best. ure basing foster on fixtures or better gk as a whole?
Manonne
Without question Guzan. Fixtures also improve greatly after Everton next week
thnx all. will sleep over it i think.
buy ADM, even when he have Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal in next 5?
Currently stuck on this myself. I think it really comes down to who you'd be dropping for him.
I wouldnt buy him , but either would i sell him if that makes sense
At 10m with those fixtures i dont think hes worth it. But if like myself you bought him for 8.5 then he well worth holding onto9.5
Already locked in? You better hope he doesn't go quiet or get injured for a week or two.
I agree
Totally agree. Its the same situation with Fabregas. Also probably Costa as well if he were to get sent off or injured (which he eventually will).
My TV actually lost 0.2 when I traded Ulloa>Welbeck because of losing half the gain on Ulloa. Makes me really hesitant to replace the good players who i got cheaply and have been performing reasonably well.ADM is essential and believe he can compete with any team.
Schneiderlin,but couldnt do straight swap
If its a for a hit, have to drop Cahill who has CRY n QPR in next 3 :/Probably not worth dropping a defender like Cahill and spending 4pts.
You basically need Chelsea to concede and ADM to score to make it worth your while.
Hold mate, & go to sleep. Those knees need a massage
5K to 25K yesterday. Boooo
135k to 220k. BOOOOOOO
Chambers
Currently own him but starting to wonder if he is worth the bother.
I dont mind the suspension , but his continual string of yellow cards is rather
annoying. Its obvious hes not much of a full back and can only stop players going past him by fouling them.
Arsenal have good fixtures but starting to wonder if i should look elsewhere
Have two frees and nothing much to do with them so need to use oneIt might be a bit premature due to fixtures, but if you have a FT to use and don't like Chambers then Robertson is a worthy replacement at the same price. The lad is unlucky not to have assisted more with all the good crosses he swings in. He has 3 YC's though, and has got 0 or 1 most games apart from 7 against QPR and 13 against Palace. I think he should have scored more though.
If you can work him into a rotation i think he's worth a look. Ideally only after gw15 though. At that price level I think it is difficult to find a player at that price with that level of potential due to fixtures so I would hold.
This. Price is a steal. He should improve.
This. Best case scenario you get a CS against the weak teams & a yellow.
Sorry to hijack your post r.e. Chambers Triggerlips but i replied to your post on who to drop from your front 7 to bring in Baines but the page had moved on ( not very quick on this technology, posting on forums malarkey).....anyway i digress, do you not think Sterling to Chadli could work in your quest for the scouse left back? Chadli seems consistent enough to rival Sterling for points and you get Baines in for his good run of fixtures?
not yet, sterling plays so much better when sturridge on pitch and the fixtures great
I did mention Sturridge and his return and the possible increase in Sterlings output so fair enough.
Do you really want to drop Sterling for games against QPR, Hull, and Newcastle in the next 3?!
Whilst i agree that pools fixtures are pretty good they and Sterling inparticular have hardly been pulling up trees of late and yes with Sturridge back Sterling could return to form but Baines also has good fixtures and could indeed rival or surpass Sterlings output in the coming weeks.
Just thinking same, as I have no other moves to make a my 2 FT. Looking for a def 4.9or under w a good fixture this week.
That is my budget. Chambers ruined it and I really cannot see another option. Let me know if you spot something
Nothing in sight so far. He rotates with wisdom and Moore for me and this was supposed to be his week. Am actually looking at Caulker, but I have twelve days to stop myself from that.
I looked at him too. I have even half looked at Oviedo at 4.8.
Do not get Caulker. Just don't!
The life of Ryan on now recorded from earlier. Hope it is interesting. He had a peculiar situation at Man U when he managed
Is welbeck likely to rise in price tonight?
He rose last night so I will say no.
No, not until later in the week at best.
only Clyne and Di maria tonight
Which site are you using to guage these Trigger? Is there one site that is now more reliable for both rises and falls, or do we need to check different sites for both?
http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk
very reliable for rises not for dropsThanks.
no
?
I'm participating in a draft in the next 10 days, and was just thinking about what the top 10 picks should be (although I have pick 18/20, and 3/20 in the next round). The first two have already been picked, but here's my guess:
1. Costa
2. Di Maria
3. Aguero
4. Hazard
5. Sturridge
6. Falcao
7. Sanchez
8. Sterling
9. RVP
10. Walcott
Do you agree with that?Pick 18 equal crap side 🙁
18,23,58,63 etc doesn't bode well.I did a little mock-draft on excel, and I think having a pick around 12-15 is the best place. There's a drop-off after 15 in the A-listers, and then again another drop after around 28-30. Having 18, 23, isn't so bad but I'd have loved to be 3 spots higher.
I'm really hoping a Walcott, Ramsey, Fabregas falls to me at 18, and that I can get someone like Baines or Siggy at 23. Unlikely though.
Baines?
Not top 10 for me. I think he should go 16-17th.
which one to get rid?
need money for ADM.
A. Moreno -> Alderweireld
B. PvA/Naylor -> Moore
C. Pelle -> WelbeckLiverpool are leaking goals and Southampton are looking great.
A.Thats bollocks. Liverpool were 30 seconds away from a CS against Everton, and only a blind referee kept them from a CS against WBA.
While both true, ten goals conceded in seven games tells a story, as does the constant frustration of owning a Liverpool defender.
Of all the sides in the elite defence bracket, Liverpool are the ones who will constantly let you down when you expect a "guaranteed" clean sheet. Can't see it changing any time soon.
Better shipping out and not worrying about.
A
Wisdom or Hutton?
Hutton. Villa better defending team and good upcoming fixtures (after Everton)
What do you guys think of Welbeck for the next few games?
It is what I am doing so best to avoid
Good option. Best value in the Arsenal attack
Imo a frontline of Costa-Pelle-Welbeck is the best you can have for the next 4 GW's.
Aguero will have must-win CL games, and should be rested for 2/4 games coming up, the exceptions being against Spurs and United. Not sold on Welbeck, though fixtures not bad and everyone needs something to differentiate themselves
I would definitely get him if I hadn't gone with Pellè. Great option as a 3rd striker.
Begovic, Moreno and Ulloa
to
4.5GK, Baines and Welback ??
for a hit (-4)
(need to downgrade Bego to 4.5 GK to finance this trade)Looks good.
I think you'll come to regret trading Begovic. In isolation I don't think Moreno>Baines is worth a hit either with Liv's fixtures in mind.
I think it is. Until Liverpool stop playing four at the back with two flying full backs they will keep very few clean sheets, irregardless of opposition.
You do realise how close Liverpool have been to keeping CS's in their last two league games?
Only a freak 92nd minute wonderstrike and a shocking referee error kept them from getting CS's.
I think Bego and Mannone will end up on similar points..
more importantly i will have Baines and Welback in my team with more points potential
than ulloa and morenomaybe you're right. but now isn't the time to trade begovic for mannone given their respective fixtures in the next 6-7 gw's
Thoughts on tadic and vaz te to chadli and sakho(whm) for free?
Current side is
Krul foster
Clyne Naylor pva Bertrand duff
Cesc siggy sterling tadic Di Maria
Aguero Costa vaz te
2 FTs and 0 itbConsidering Chadli at the moment myself. There's certainly a chance he'll get a nice price bump before the next gameweek...
Tossing up between Sakho, Welbeck and Naismith for 3rd fwd spot.
Yes, those moves make sense.Vaz Te is probably 4th choice striker now.
What about Vardy? I know it's a bit kneejerky, but he seems like he's going to get returns on a pretty frequent basis...
I've had four 3rd fwd's already this season, but i believe I've finally settled on a keeper with Welbeck. I kept changing Bojan>Naismith>Ulloa>Welbeck to ride the price rises, but I think I've finally found one who will keep rising no matter what, as well as scoring more.
RMT PLEASE
Adrian
Azpilcueta- Naylor- Gibbs
Fabregas - ADM - Siggy - Gerrard - Sanchez
Welbeck - Costa
Subs: McCarthy-Hutton-Moore-Barnes
THANKS IN ADVANCE3rd striker?
Barnes
it really doesnt matter im playing 3-5-2
Just trying to garner some opinions. Looking to oust Ramsey for a striker in my draft game. Baring in mind that I have Walcott, who would you offer Ramsey for from the following?....
A) Welbeck
B) Dzeko
C) Lukaku
These are the options available to me.
Thanks for guidance...Losing Ramsey is a heavy price to pay. You should be looking at the tier above this lot, as there's only about 12-14 players better value than Ramsey. My 1st rule will be that the one who gets the better player always wins the trade, and I don't think you would win the trade with any of those 3.
Even with Walcott? My strikers are RvP, Adebayor and Austin.
I would try to entice someone to sell Rooney, yaya, or baines in exchange for Ramsey. He's one of the very top midfield options.
welbeck or lukaku
Anyone thought about upgrading Fab to Haz?
I thought of doing Ramsey>Hazard before settling on Downing, but wouldn't do Fab>Hazard. Too sideways and I would lose 0.3 on Fab's value.
yep, after hazard's goal and before fab's assist yesterday..
The problem is we have more urgent issues than this move, feels a bit sideways.'Upgrade' is debatable.
Stick with fab I reckon. It's too sideways
Plan was to sell PVA to Baines. Worried about not having ADM though. Should I sell Tadic for ADM instead? It would mean I couldn't afford Baines though
ADM averaging almost 9ppg. And looks great from what I've seen Ryan.
Tough fixtures coming up though and even owners must admit he's been a bit lucky so far
Pretty tough, may as well toss a coin it's that close.
Yeah normally I'm decisive but this time it's hard. The knee is telling me to get ADM but I know the knee isn't trustworthy
If it helps I've decided against ADM at the moment. He's had a fair slice of luck so far and the time to get him was probably before the recent fixtures, not before 3 away in 5 with 3 being Chelsea City Arsenal.
Pelle to Welbeck
Or
Falcao to Welbeck?
Not 100% convinced by him yet though.
ThanksI went with Pelle but there is nothing in it
I wouldn't do Pelle to Welbeck myself. I think Pelle could easily score whatever Welbeck does over the next few fixtures.
My team:
Bego_4.0
Cahill Bertrand Kaboul Colo Wisdom
Fab Sterling Siggy Tadic Marney
Costa Kun Ulloa
1.4 ITB
Wanted to bring in Baines for Cahill but that looks not logical at all this morning, Chelsea finally getting CS? 10 points on last 2 games while Baines got 4 points and Everton leaking goals.
Is there a way to bring Baines and Welbeck to my team without disrupting everything (I don't see it).except WCing and ending up with
Mannone 4.0
Cahill Bertrand BAINES CHAMBERS Wisdom
Fab Sterling Siggy ADM Boyd
Costa WELBECK PELLE
What do you think???
Thanks amigos !About the only thing I can think of is doing Fab to Chadli to fund getting Baines. Not sure if it is worth doing just throwing it out there.
yes i thought about it, but selling a guy with 7 assists in 7 games....
