As we brace ourselves for the second international break of the season, our Sunday members regular delves into the Gameweek 7 data. United’s record signing, City’s in-form frontman and Swansea’s resurgent striker are amongst this evening’s topics, as we also analyse the recent displays of a number of favourably priced midfielders across the last few Gameweeks.

    Azpilicueta.

I know that £6m is hardly bargain basement territory for a defender, but Chelsea have just recorded a second straight cleanie, against Arsenal too, and are starting to look like the shut out kings of last year once more.

Yes, fixtures aren't great, but that can often be a good thing with Mourinho sides as defence comes first so we are looking at a season keeper here. He's also played 90 minutes in EVERY PL game so that Luís risk in negligible.

Azpic picked up 18 points in his last 2 and is £1.3m cheaper than Ivanovic (who picked up 13 in the same period).

I'm not saying I think he'll continue to outscore Ivan, but i don't think there will be a huge amount in it with Ivan slowing down (Goals) and Azpic picking up (BAPS).

Put it this way... I did a pretend WC team & he was in it... Excellent choice behind Ivanovich

My mate put him in for his WCT a couple of weeks back and his scores are basically the difference between us right now.

I think that we are too quick to identify the 'best route to x defence' and forget everybody else.

Azpic is a very good alternative if you can't afford Ivan.

I am just concerend if Mou suprisingly put Luis instead of Azpi sometime. I was thinking to do Cahill to Azpi.

Ironically I was thinking more about when Remy comes in for Costa!

After reading an article on Chelsea, I think their Premier league starting back four will always feature Azpil

Ivanovic can play CB as well though. I would have Terry is the one who may need a rest the most?

I don't think any of them need a rest at this stage. Not for a while IMO.

And when they do it'll be domestic cup games with the likes of Zouma and Luís coming in.

I really don't see it happening.

Azpilicueta is such a tenacious player, and Mou loves that. He's gone up against some quality wingers and always dominates. Luís will not come in for those tough fixtures when he's yet to really stake a claim in other comps.

            I couldn't agree more.

I have 2 FTs and am thinking of doing the most boring moves of all time.

            Moreno -> Azpic
            Rodwell -> £4.5

I already have ADM and Agüero so no need to look at any big hitters this week.

    Bit of help please....

Many of you will be aware of the site Fantasy football fix, I wasn't until the poster Marr alerted me to this.

I wanted to do some basic research into looking into this site, but you need to input your FPL password/Email to access their articles (which look/sound very interesting)

Does anyone know if this is safe? Or should I just avoid?

So you believe safe? Nothings 'hacked' or whatnot into your fpl account?

All I want to access (predominantly) is their price change section, apparently pretty reliable

          Nope, it's all good.

They use the password to get your current squad details (including stuff like what price you bought players at) to be able to suggest stuff to you.

Personally didn't like the suggestion made by their algorithm but the price change seemed good. Really gonna test it tonight.

Repost from before... Could do with some long-term advice if possible guys.

    Current team is:

    Begovic - McCarthy
    Ivanovic - Clyne - Shawcross - Moreno - Moore
    Siggy - Fabregas - Sterling - ADM - Boyd
    Costa - Welbeck - Ulloa

    3m ITB with 1 FT.

Long term, I'd like to bring in Walcott and one of Sturridge/Aguero.

For Sturridge/Aguero - I have to upgrade Ulloa. I'm personally thinking of slowly downgrading my defense (Ivan, Shawcross, Moreno are all replaceable I feel). Looking at Chambers and Oviedo as interesting picks right now.

For Walcott, who do I go for? If I could've found a way to fit him in over Siggy, I'd have done that in a heartbeat. But that seems difficult right now.. Thoughts?

          I agree.

That team dies out without Silva.

Last season, they kept chugging along when Aguero and Yaya were both injured. But when Silva got injured, they starting losing everything.

Absolutely. I've been saying this for ages but most people can't seem to look past Yaya / Aguero.

On another note, would you trade out Yaya for Silva in a draft league? I have Yaya but I'm thinking of swapping him for Silva.

I got him, but my concern is he goint to Argentina and Hong Kong on int. break and then it's first game of the gameweek. Maybe he will start from the bench?

concerns me also - tempted to hit the WC button to ship him out again for a while

He's not going to Argentina - The Brazil game is in Beijing. Still a fair way but relatively speaking not as much impact on the body-clock as both games are in China.

the one that is tempting me most is sterling. back on form against wbrom, was very unlucky not to get a huge haul and sturridge will be fit again.

and its QPR who have the worst defence in the league

Didn't get Aguero on WC two weeks ago, now have the urge though. Who to downgrade out of hazard, fabregas, sterling? ADM obviously locked in my team.

Alternative is sticking with pelle & welbeck up front. Fixtures look good but worried about their consistency.

Yeah you're prob right. Lost siggy on WC so would be annoying to get him back. Might go chadlii.

Will prob have to downgrade two mids.....May get a southampton mid to retain their attack given fixtures along with chadlii. Saying that without siggy gonna get punished every time like on sat. Just a good job hazard got the points too y'day. Cheers.

He should've scored two or three against Villa, so he certainly is in form. If you don't have him, I'd hold

      I've made my decision!

I'm not getting Baines and will get Kun after GW10 with Costa Pelle Dat Guy until then.

Will go Moreno ---> Wisdom after QPR game, along with Ivan ----> Azpi

Wait two weeks then downgrade Sterling to Chadli if he continues to fire or Henderson if not and Welbeck to Aguero (C) just in time for Man City at QPR.

      😀

      PHEW!!!

So which of these would you go for:

      A) Ivanovic, Baines Pelle
      B) Chambers, Bertrand, Aguero

(Chambers will only be out for one game of course)

      Cheers!

Are people actually doing transfer already? We've got 12 days. Unless you're bang on the money and can't hold on, it's not a good idea

No....just planning. Always best to have an idea of transfers though just in case a chance of getting priced out of them due to rises/falls.

Welbeck in for Ulloa on Saturday night. Risky I know, but a combination of not wanting to see Ulloa in my team any more and catching the Welbeck price rise created an itch I just had to scratch 🙂

Welbeck is pissing me off. Almost wanted him to get sent off on sun so had a reason to take him out, saying that he has the fixtures now so I expect points.

If waiting costs you - say - 0.3 (in drops and rises), it might not kill your transfer plan this gameweek but who knows which future transfers it prices you out of?

I'm not saying this is a cast-iron reason to move early. I'm undecided on the price you can put on avoiding an injury risk. But I do get surprised when people rule it out of their thinking altogether. To me it seems a bit short-sighted to only consider this week's transfer budget.

      Krul Elliott

      Clyne Bertrand Chambers PvA Duff

      Hazard DiMaria Sterling Siggy Boyd

      Aguero Costa Welbeck

Any changes worth making (I'm already transfering Krul out sooner rather than later).

I can see them setting up similar to how they did at The Emirates and getting a goal on the counter.
