Our Watchlist rankings, which offer player recommendations over the next four to six Gameweeks, have been updated over the last 24 hours.

Between the sticks, West Ham’s Adrian is on the up after collecting his first clean sheet of the season in Gameweek 7. The Hammers face a trip to Burnley this weekend, and with their opponents having only scored in one of their last six, the 5.0-priced Spaniard could be set for further returns come Saturday afternoon. Arsenal number one Wojciech Szczesny also climbs the rankings due to Calum Chambers’ one-match suspension and the injury doubts hanging over Laurent Koscielny in the Gunners’ defence.

With excellent fixtures ahead for Arsene Wenger’s side (HUL, sun, BUR, swa), their backline looks set to prosper in spite of current form (it’s only one shut-out so far this season for a defence that accumulated 17 clean sheets last term), and Per Mertesacker – as their most nailed-on rearguard option right now – comes into our defensive standings as a result.

Joining team-mate Adrian in rising up our rankings is Hammers centre back James Tomkins, whose attacking threat has already earned his owners two assists up to this point. Across the way at Tottenham, meanwhile, Younes Kaboul climbs to just below Tomkins thanks to his kind fixtures from Gameweek 9 onwards (NEW, avl, STK, hul).

Jeffrey Schlupp is a new entry at the back thanks to his out-of-position prospects – the Leicester man is available for just 4.5 and was utilised on the left wing in the Foxes’ last league fixture, bagging his first goal of the season in the process. Another defender prospering due to their out-of-position status is Hull’s Andrew Robertson. Like Schlupp, he is on offer for just 4.5 ,and though his next three fixtures are rather tough (ars, liv, SOU), his strong form and position on the left of midfield in the Tigers’ 3-5-2 formation brings him into contention.

There is little movement in midfield, where Raheem Sterling holds on to the top spot, with Fantasy Premier League midfield frontrunners Gylfi Sigurdsson (sto, LEI, eve, ARS, mci) and Angel Di Maria (wba, CHE, mci, CRY, ars) only failing to climb due to their tricky schedules. The likes of Jordan Henderson (6.0), Saido Mane (6.9) and James Milner (5.3) continue to bubble under as mid-price differentials and cheaper alternatives to their team-mates further up the rankings – all three have strong fixtures to boost their points potential.

Daniel Sturridge is the big addition to our rankings up front. The Liverpool striker is likely to be eased back into action after recovering from a thigh injury, but as he proved against Southampton in Gameweek 1, needs little time to introduce himself. The 11.3-priced England man has enticing fixtures against QPR, Hull and Newcastle to find his feet and could prove an outstanding differential in the coming weeks.

Danny Welbeck is the main mover in our forward standings and now sits just below the template trio of Diego Costa, Graziano Pelle and Sergio Aguero. Though he has picked up returns in one of his four appearances in an Arsenal shirt, the lack of clear options in the Gunners’ midfield right now ensures that Welbeck, at a mere 7.3, is their main attacking asset for the moment – reports indicate he’s set to return to training after shrugging off the knock picked up on England duty. Should Alexis Sanchez begin to justify his 10.3 price tag and Theo Walcott quickly readjust to life in the Premier League upon his return from injury next week, both are likely to be elevated in next week’s refresh.

I might be tempted, but with Rosicky, Sanchez, and Ox as direct replacements and the soon to return Walcott and Ramsey, plus, the condense schedule of Arsenal. All are putting me off

Evening all. I am suffering almost complete blackout at the moment. Vodafone have randomly stopped my mobile contract and my broadband seems to have died in our recent flooding. It is like going back to the 1990's and is no help for fantasy football. Fortunately I have access to the internet at work or it really could go horribly wrong.

I think we just need to accept it will not happen this season. I think the best he can hope for is to be rotated in when the fixtures get heavier for Chelsea

At this point it would take an injury for him to get time, probably. Otherwise just someone to write off for the time being. Long season, though, he could well come into our plans at some point.

    Krul - Elliot

    Terry - Naylor - Moreno - Wilson - Bruce

    Tadic - sterling - siggy - fab - marney

    costa - welbeck - aguero

    1 mil ITB

Any thoughts on the team? pretty standard template tbh. Would love to get baines
and Bertrand in this week, would it be worth bringing them in for moreno and terry?

Had a little look at my mini league competitors and it seems like no one has aguero, welbeck,
tadic or baines, lovely few differentials there, hope they pay off if i was to bring in baines!

Szczesny also climbs the rankings due to Calum Chambers’ one-match suspension and the injury doubts hanging over Laurent Koscielny in the Gunners’ defence.

^^^Wish I understood how arsenal having no defence would push szczensy up the goalkeeping ranks!

^^This. People are blinded by his price as opposed to the reality. That being we've kept ONE clean sheet in 7 matches in league play and that one against a Villa team weakened by a virus where their even some of their players on the pitch were sick at halftime. We are getting dangerously close to being threadbare--and that's saying something given our woeful injury record. It is much the same with Walcott. People on here planning transfers to get him in at the first sniff of minutes on the pitch. Forgetting he's coming back from one of the most serious injuries a quick, cutting type player can suffer. Yet all they think of are his big hauls rather than that he'll probably be relegated to a month of 70 minute sub appearances before he starts.

  13. Baseline bonus magnets in attack
    President John F. Keninnsie
    • 12 Years

Hey lads, I've been intrigued as to why Costa has been getting very few bonus points even when he's consistently scoring goals. Even though he has scored in 6 different games, he's only received baps in 3 of those games. Similar to the research I did last night on defender BPS (see hot topics), I did the same for forwards to see how Costa is comparing BPS-wise to other strikers.

I've removed the goal and assist points for the 8 strikers with the highest BPS score over the season so far to find their baseline BPS scores.

    Costa : 238 BPS : 9G (-216) = 22 BPS
    Aguero : 160 BPS : 5G (-120) = 40 BPS
    Naismith : 157 BPS : 4G (-96) = 61 BPS
    Ulloa : 142 BPS : 5G (-120) = 22 BPS
    Berahino : 141 BPS : 5G (-120) = 21 BPS
    Pelle : 136 BPS: 4G, 1A (-105) = 31 BPS
    Rooney : 127 BPS: 3G, 2A (-90) = 37 BPS
    Jelavic : 110 BPS : 4G (-96) = 14 BPS

As Naismith, Ulloa and Aguero often don't play upfront alone, I checked out the baseline BPS of their strike partners too.

    Lukaku : 85 BPS : 2G, 1A (-57) = 28 BPS
    Vardy : 86 BPS : 1G, 4A (-69) = 17 BPS
    Nugent : 50 BPS : 1G (-24) = 26 BPS
    Dzeko : 93 BPS : 2G, 1A (-57) = 36 BPS

I then divided their minutes played by their 'new' BPS score to find their baseline BPS/min.

    These are the results:

    Naismith : 0.108
    Aguero : 0.091
    Dzeko : 0.085
    Rooney : 0.073
    Vardy : 0.057
    Pelle: 0.049
    Lukaku : 0.047
    Nugent : 0.047
    Ulloa : 0.039
    Costa : 0.038
    Berahino : 0.033
    Jelavic : 0.023

    Conclusion:
    - Naismith is the biggest baseline BPS magnet out of the forwards.
    - Aguero and Dzeko sit 2nd and 3rd respectively, which is probably a result of the number of attempts and the possession that City have had.

    - Costa is near the bottom of the list with a measly 0.038 baseline BPS/min. Combine this with the fact that Azpilicueta is the defensive BPS magnet in the league and Fabregas has the most BPS out of all the midfielders and it's easy to see why Costa rarely gets bonus.

Forwards get 24 BPS for every goal so in teams like Chelsea where plenty of players are clocking up high BPS scores, it looks like (on most occasions) Costa will need at least 2 goals if he's to end up with some bonus points.

NOTE: I know this information isn't very useful as forwards regularly score goals and no one will pick their strikers solely based on their BPS/min, but it does give an indication as to which forwards are more likely to get bonus points if they score in a match. If you don't find this post useful then keep your negative comments to yourself and keep on scrolling. Cheers 🙂

Final episode the other day. They released the doc and when Andy came out of the office there was hundreds of people chanting that. I can't get it out of my head 🙂

Toughest group. The Germans have to come good don't they? So much possession and losing/drawing...except against Scotland of course. Tight game in Glasgow against the Irish coming up....have to get up at 5am to watch it :~)
Never thought Scotland would be ahead of Germany after 3 games. Ahead of Germany and in 3rd place!.... I would have said impossible....funny old game 🙂

Your just working with hindsight there. Im not saying they picked a better captain just that you would still do well just having Welbeck that week. If costa exploded you would have sunk.

Just owning him is a differential in itself! Not sure you can ignore almost 70% ownership. If you get it wrong, it could ruin your season.

I used mine during a week with no breaks or CL and I got several rises....made .2 million actually when I sold at end of week. You need to use the WC during these weeks instead of the break and CL weeks so there's no injury worry.

I was happy with mine in hindsight cos it allowed me to completely revamp my defence and also get in adm at a cool 9.5. Otherwise wouldn't have done. Wc well played. I've never in 5 years gone past gw5! Lol

Any ideas??? 0.1 short of Falcao + Ivan -> Kun + Azi

    Begovic - McCarthy
    Ivanovic - Clyne - Naylor - Wisdom - Duff
    ADM - Sterling - Silva - Siggy - Boyd
    Costa - Falcao - Welbeck

Pretty risky but Pelle will still do well over the coming weeks. If you really want Kun then downgrade Silva > Mane/Chadli IMO.

If you really want aguero use silva to fund it.

I'd be tempted to stick with falcoa this week at least though as you have him.

You could trade bego down to a 4.5 this week and do those moves for free next week as well, assuming falcoa does not score a hattrick and you end up wanting to keep him.
