Southampton’s displays under Ronald Koeman have been one of the success stories of 2014/15 so far. Few believed the Saints were capable of replicating last term’s eight-placed finish after a handful of their leading lights followed Mauricio Pochettino through the exit door but Koeman’s canny dealings in the transfer market have steered his side into third spot after seven rounds of fixtures.

Whilst Graziano Pelle has hit the ground running as a replacement for Rickie Lambert, fellow new boy Dusan Tadic has yet step out of Adam Lallana’s 2013/14 shadow. The latter served up 178 points in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game last year, courtesy of nine goals, nine assists and 20 bonus points, whereas Tadic – who arrived on the back of 28 goals and 29 assists in his two seasons with FC Twente – has mustered just a trio of assists so far.

With spot-kick and dead-ball duties in his favour, the Serbian playmaker certainly has the upcoming fixtures to improve. Home showdowns against Sunderland, Stoke and Leicester, allied with trips to Hull and Villa in the next five, look tailor-made for the 7.5-priced, 2%-owned midfielder to finally make an impact before the schedule takes a turn for the worse in Gameweek 13.

With that in mind, we compare Tadic’s displays to Lallana’s from last season and also cast an eye over his displays relative to this term’s main men in the midfield bracket.

    A) Sterling + Fabregas
    B) Tadic + Hazard

    Currently on my wildcard and have had the proven A pair since GW2, but something is drawing me towards B. Less prolific currently but potentially explosive? Both on penalties too.

    Thoughts?

      Hey Badger. I am no computrr whiz but i will gibe you a couple of suggestions.
      1) Try using an external keyboard.
      2) Scan for viruses
      3) If you are using a laptop it might be a faulty battery. Try removing the battery and connecting directly to the mains.

      Hey SeoulBadger... if you're getting the same issue on Microsoft Word, then it sounds like it's a keyboard issue.

      If you have another PC or an old keyboard, try plugging that in until you get a new one!

    Oh well deadline day is edging closer , starting to feel slightly uneasy at losing losing a bombardier exciting left full back and one of the most creative mids in world football who are both fully fit and play for 2 of the most attacking teams in the league for a Everton defender and Southampton mid I had no idea even existed until July , think I need to go to sleep

          500 word piece, composed by one of the most respected posters here in Paul, dripping with statistical evidence, touting Tadic's promising fantasy prospects.

          vs.

    Heaton (Gilks)
    Clyne/Wilson/Naylor (Hutton/Moore)
    ADM/Sterling/Fab/Siggy (Boyd)
    Kun/Costa/Pelle

    I want to upgrade my DEF and bring in Baines & Chadli but not sure if I should already do it this week with away to City:

    1] Fab & Moore --> Chadli & Baines
    2] Fab & Moore --> Downing & Baines
    3] Sterling & Wilson --> Hendo & Baines
    4] Do nothing and wait til next week

      I'd drop one of the mids to 4.4 and just play 3-4-3 every week. Downing to 4.4, Ulloa to Costa?
      Don't think dropping sterling just before games against qpr, hull & newcastle is smart.

      Personally I'd keep Downing for the upcoming fixtures. Begovic to Guzan/Adrian as you are already doubling on Stoke and upcoming fixtures dont look great. Agree Ulloa needs to move too

    Hi guys, what should I do with this lot:

    Mannone Heaton

    Wisdom Hutton Moore Duff Clyne

    Sterling Fab Tadic ADM Cork

    Costa Kun Ulloa

    1FT 1.6 ITB

    Thinking of:

    A) Ulloa => Sakho
    B) Moore/Duff => Moreno/Jagielka

    Thoughts?

      With that defense you may as well go all guns blazing up top
      Fab>Siggy , Ulloa> Falcao

        True as I do not have any ARS cover at the moment, but if I do that, I won't have enough to upgrade my defense.

        Will probably do Fab => Wally once he's back.

          Jags might be worth it but you're relying on CS points from him and Eve haven't been getting CS's lately. Hoping that will change now I've just brought Baines in. 🙂

    Evening all. Currently on WC.
    Here's the team:

    Adrian 4.0
    Ivan Baines Moore 4.6 Bertie
    Sterling Siggy ADM Boyd Chadli
    Aguero Costa Cisse

    0.0 ITB.

    Any thoughts on 4.0 Gk?
    4.6 Def is currently Naylor, want to put in Chambers but hesitant because he's not playing this week. Chances of Bellarin playing?
    Thoughts on Chadli's injury? Anyone better for 6.2?
    Any other comments?
    Cheers all.

    1. Jay_

      That is a lovely looking team
      I would have Guzan and Foster as Gks
      Chambers instead of Naylor it's only 1 game but saying that you will be playing Ivan Baines Bertie every week anyway so don't really that spot so Wisdom could be good and bank the.4

            Do that. Get Hutton instead - you're going to be playing a 3-4-3 most weeks anyway.

      I think with Siggy, Chadli, Cisse and Boyd all in your front 8 your team lacks flexibility. By this I mean, if an expensive midfielder (e.g. Walcott) gains form, you'll have to downgrade Ivan or Baines to upgrade one of your cheaper mids. The same applies for your third striker, it'd be good to have an easy get-out plan if Cisse fails, and to get Welbeck/Pelle you'd have to downgrade a defender again.

      So, IMO, your defence is too expensive, I'd consider downgrading Ivan/Baines to a ~5m defender which will give you more flexibility with regards to future transfers. If you're set on Cisse then stick with him, but I'd definitely downgrade at least one defender.

        • 12 Years

        Hmmm, good food for thought there. Walcott definitely on the radar and I was starting to think of using ADM or Sterling out for him if and when that time comes but if they are still scoring points then I won't be wanting that option.
        Baines to Kaboul gives me 2mil to play with. Could upgrade 4.0GK to 4.5 and have money itb for flexibility?

        1. President John F. Keninnsie
          • 12 Years
          11 years, 9 months ago

          Yeah Kaboul could be great after this week. I'd stick with just Adrian in goal, 9.5 would be too much on keepers I reckon. If you want to rotate then have a look at Guzan + Foster, though.

          Money in the bank is always handy, I left 2m in the bank when I wildcarded which allowed me to get Aguero in for Rooney for free when he got suspended, so I think you should definitely consider that option.

            ok, cheers.
            Yeah am liking Adrian in goal. rotating gks doesn't work well for me.
            So it's basically coming down to Kaboul + 2mil vs Baines. Tough to decide that one.
            Hey any thoughts on Chadli vs Downing at all?

              Kaboul + Pelle/Welbeck beats Baines + Cisse IMO. Not much in it though, eh.

              I prefer Chadli... Great form, great fixtures, better team... I got him in this week.

        for the next few gw there isnt a better option than baines. i bet by Dec hes in the top 5 point getters for 7m across all positions, and ivan will continue to benefit from chelseas shut outs and attacking points. keep em.

        agureo will get injured soon, maybe costas hamstring will finally snap, theres your flexibility.

      Harmer is probably the most popular 4.0 GK choice, my mid-price is Naylor but there are options (Tompkins, Chambers, Dawson etc), Bellarin will play, Chadli a doubt and I have a hunch that he won't start against City. I like your side, although it might be a good idea to keep the 0.6 and buy a cheaper def to sit on your bench, assuming you're playing a 343.

    I'm really struggling with what to do this week. My team is as follows with 1.1 itb:
    Bego
    Lovren, Terry, Naylor, Wisdom, Hutton
    Sterling, Siggy, Hazard, ADM, 4.5
    Costa, Dzeko, Pelle.

    Would like to bring in Augero over the next few weeks but am considering either sticking, or bringing in Bertrand for Lovren, depending on his availability.

    Other thoughts have been to take Sterling out to fund Dzeko -> Augero, or swap Terry for Baines. Really need some advice.

      what about downgrading Hazard as you already have Costa? Chadli, downing, Mane etc etc. Does that give you enough to go Dzeko - Aguero?

    My defence is a mess.

    Clyne
    Dummet 75% chance of playing
    Lovren 75% chance of playing
    Vlaar 25% chance of playing
    Bruce never plays

    0.2 in the bank. 1 free trade

    No idea what to do. No plan to take a hit on a lemon defender.

      I think Dummet will be fit but I don't think Lovren will be. If you've held onto Vlaar for this long, maybe stick with him. Maybe keep an eye on Lovren and stick if he's fit, twist if he isn't.

      is it worth thinking about taking a hit if you're not going to be able to field 3 defs? That way the hit is only for 2points, even less if they score you points.
