Don’t get us wrong – we’re not labelling this latest droning session as “essential” listening. However, there’s no getting away from the fact that the concept of essential players has dominated the airwaves at Scout towers over the past week.

In this latest episode, Granville and I take on this meaty subject, whilst chewing over the importance of ownership and spit out the semblance of an opinion on both. Around that main course, we take on the usual bevvy of regulars with the usual haphazard panache.

Essential? Not quite, not even on a rainy Thursday night.

Grab this crucial slice of audio via this link or explore this necessary noise via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

On WC, I think this is OK but wouldn't mind anyone's opinions:

    Forster - Hamer

    Bertrand - Baines - Chambers - Naylor - Hutton

    ADM - Hazard - Siggy - Henderson - Boyd

    Aguero - Costa - Naismith

    Still have £0.8m available.

I'll switch Forster to Adrian after the next 5.
Naismith i'll ride out until he loses his place, and then swap to Sakho.
Henderson replaced Sterling to afford Haz and Aguero - could be a possible better option there but QPR v Liv is appealing!?

    Thoughts guys please?

Can't help feeling that if you only have two top price mids you shouldn't have Naismith. Get Welbeck

Welbeck makes me very nervous. I've never had any confidence in him finishing when I've watched him impartially, so I don't think id enjoy owning him.

You are comparing a bit player at Man U with the main striker at Arsenal. No comparison

He just can't finish, however many minutes he plays and whoever it's for. He didn't even manage to get an assist for that Ox goal v Spurs. Middle of the box, in front of goal, and he managed to make it miss every part of his body!

Downgrading Aguero would free up enough cash to spend elsewhere. Hendo back to Sterling possibly, or maybe Naismith up to Pelle?

OK I'm glad someone else is. Lot's of people don't rate him but he keeps scoring, and Everton's games are so juicy coming up. When he's out, we can switch to Sakho for his easy games without too much trouble.

Not sure I have been in a situation like this, where I have 2 FT over an Intl break and nothing has happened to make me want to change my team.

Is it worth shipping Chambers if my backline is
    Heaton Gilks
    Baines Clyne Wisdom Moore Chambers?

I have either 4.9 to replace Chambers of 4.4 for Moore or Wisdom. Cheers.

    Repost from earlier...

Not gonna do any transfers before this weekends games but need to figure out the route I want to go down for the next batch of transfers. May do a -4 past the weekend - or may stay a week and do 3 moves over two weeks.

    Here's my team right now:

    Begovic - McCarthy
    Clyne - Ivanovic - Moreno - Shawcross - Moore
    ADM - Fabregas - Sterling - Siggy - Boyd
    Costa - Welbeck - Ulloa

    3m ITB. 1 FT.

Which option do you like most?

    A) Ivanovic, Shawcross, Ulloa -> Chambers, Robertson, Aguero. 0.3m ITB.
    B) Shawcross, Moreno, Ulloa -> Chambers, Wisdom, Sturridge. 0,0m ITB.
    C) Shawcross, Moreno, Ulloa -> Chambers, Baines, Pelle. 0,4m ITB.
    D) Ivanovic, Ulloa -> Chambers, Sturridge. 0.2m ITB.
    E) Switch to a 3-5-2. Bring in a Zamora kind of guy for Ulloa while upgrading Boyd to Walcott. Allows me to keep Baines and Ivanovic both.

Any help would be appreciated! Very confused here!

Those are the two I'm torn between!

Thing is, if I want C, I should go for Ulloa - Pelle this week (as Pelle is likely to rise).

I would go for Aguero. I see Baines as a huge attacking threat, but i just don't want to pay that kind of money for a Everton defender, seeing their defensive play atm. And Aguero could explode anytime soon

    Play:
    (a) Milner TOT(H)

RMT has Downing in front. They both have great form with Milner just ahead. Right now I'm going with Downing, but it does feel odd benching an in form City player with a home game.

Moore(2 matches i ve seen from Leicester corners are aiming Moore most of the times) and PvA for more attacking threat. All of them may concede.

    I'm down to 2 options:

Chester -> Baines (will make me a first time owner)
    Naismith -> Welbeck

first one but think Naismith on borrowed time with return of Barkley

        Chester not nailed on either

I'm doing Cahill > Baines ahead of Naismith > Welbeck so I'd say Baines

In your shoes I'd have gone with Welbeck. Cahill is nailed on, Naismith isn't

I'm hoping Naismith can last AVL bur then switch to Sakho for sto AVL eve NEW

Both are great moves but but having established you can'rt afford both then toss a coin 🙂 I'm loving having both but really wouldn't want to choose. Baines probably

I would wait till next GW if I could, but if you need a 4.5 def this week, I'd probably get him. Further to my point I am getting Guzan for Bego next week. Think Villa's fixtures look great

Bring in either Kaboul or Bertrand?

Bertrand has the better next 5, but after that he has only 2 good fixtures in the following 9.
Kaboul, well the issue is do i trust the Spurs defence? Decent fixtures and 3 clean sheets in 7 isn't bad.

If i chose Kaboul i'd leave it til next week, and play Taylor, but if i chose Bertrand id do it this week for the prime fixture

      Kaboul.
I`ve got Berti but also have Naylor who can perfectly cover Bertie`s bad fixtures

I had spotted that nice rotation between Swansea and Southampton, made it quite tempting.
From GW13 Southmapton have quite a few tough fixtures, and Swansea covers them, equally Taylor's poor fixtures coincide with Bertrand's good ones

Quite a lot to spend on rotating defenders though

Playing a very long game with that move if you go Kaboul or Bertrand. Short term is not ideal.

I remember a player or two with a confusing amount of ownership and it was bugging me.

It's a good example of how not sticking with the crowd can pay off at times.
