The Scoreboard presents the Fantasy Premier League information you need from the day’s matches all on one screen, including the current top five BPS (Bonus Point System) standings from each match (potential Bonus Point earners are in bold). Actual Bonus Points will be shown when added – all points are provisional until then.

Gameweek 8

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'll happily take the loss in value if it means there are more non owners about. The value will quickly rise again once they've realised....

The number of people taking him out is very fractional.

They'll either lose out massively, or gain massively. The number of Costa owners will still be over 2 million, will still be the massive majority.

in either case I will have a stoke defender/keeper playing. the keeper in question is begovic. if I transfer him out, (probably for guzan) Wilson will play if Costa stays injured. if I sort Marney (probably for Boyd) then bego plays.

    OOP..not really but they are

Weekly look at the players who are listed as mids but play ahead of their respective strikers as the furthest forward and the FPL pts accrued (avg position)...and once again..

    Tadic (23pts)
    ADM (5pts)
    Bolasie (2pts)
    Gomez (2pts)
    James (2pts)

Tadic once again on the list, just to continue his ever increasing appeal
ADM appears for the second time in three weeks...after splitting RVP and Falcao for the other week
Bolasie another regular visitor just awaiting a nice run of fixtures for a helping hand
No idea about the other two..just one offs.

The list is significant for who doesn't appear...No Swans mids for the first time this season with Bony having a rare day where he get's higher than the half way line...and no Spurs, also for the first time this season, but kinda understandable.

Soldado is much more of a poacher than Adebayor, who drops deeper to brings others into play. Would suggest Ade creates more space in behind for Chadli to run into, whereas Soldado creates more space in the hole for Eriksen to shoot from distance/play through balls.

Exactly right...Dyer Bony Siggy and Routledge (apart from this week) all have the same sort of avg position..as do Eriksen Ade Lamela and Chadli...They both play as a genuine front four and we get the nice midfield pts...usually..

Well they're wrong. It clearly hits Falcao. I re winded it 5 times and saw it hit his leg for sure. Lescott didn't touch it at all. Falcao made a leg flick that directed it into blinds path.

        Total FAIL FPL.

A quick thought/discussion point amidst the wangers on the table "points check" and Falcao assist robbery comments.

At which point can player value rises become a disadvantage? A great example is now with Costa and Siggy. Anyone who has held them from the start is more likely to suffer from impaired decision making in light of their form and injury news. We tend to afford a player more time to recover from injury meaning you might have two/three game weeks with significant amount of money on the bench. Similarly if a player is in a bad run there is a tendency to give a few extra games to turn it around. I suppose my thoughts are that often the benefits of early ownership and value rises can be offset at the end with players holding on too long and accepting lower point returns for longer or misallocating their transfer budget.

Reason for this thought was that I am considering doing Costa + Siggy > Welbeck + Hazard, but it is almost irreversable unless i make a 0.8 sacrifice elsewhere in the team.

If Costa is out I would sell regardless of the fact I got him at 10.5. You don't leave that money on your bench.

Otherwise you just wait for news.

Eh? You imply shortsightedness from others who don't make a transfer based on short term factors?

Im implying there is a fear of making otherwise rational decisions because of the consequence of lost transfer value (and consequent inability to repurchase player).

Well yeah, but if you didn't have say Costa from the start and had gotten him a couple weeks back he would have cost you at least 0,6 more than he did for you. Also, if someone rises a lot in price he might actually be doing something right, so maybe you should pick them up 😀 (not always true)

In effect my argument here is that the greater the value you have in a player the more impaired your decision making becomes. This argument gets more telling as the season progresses as due to the increasing difference between transfer value and purchase value (assuming continuous rises). We can use Costa as an example, say for arguments sake that his value during Jan WC widow is 11.5 but he has a hamstring injury that might keep him out for 2-4 weeks. Anyone wildcarding who had just bought Costa at or around 11.5 would almost certainly replace him. Conversely someone who has held him from the start would be compelled to keep him. Even though both probably know that he will score 0 points in those 2-4 weeks the two players make opposite decisions. I'm trying to understand at which point its best to rationally hold or sell.

            7 + 2 + 1 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 9 = 36

Baines hasn't had a rest yet. Oviedo now fit. Best time for a rest is against a team who can't score. Next up Burnley 😉

Baines is a little bit superhuman on the sly though. Let's see what Martinez does in the Europa - he's taken it quite seriously so far...

Just Fab and Jags I reckon... but both combinations are very good, not sure you could go too far wrong with either to be honest.
