After the best Gameweek tally in living memory, I reserve the right for a bit of a gloat. Having risked the Wildcard back in Gameweek 7, the stars aligned and everything fell into place last weekend, leaving my ScoutCast co-host, grumpy Granville, grabbing at straws and smashing TV sets in frustration.

After last season’s defeat, I revel in my moment of glory but still find time to lock horns with Granville over the great Costa debate. Is Jose playing with our minds? I certainly think so but, as Granville points out, I reckon the Lunar landings were fake. I love a good conspiracy, me.

Congratulate yourself via this link or bask in smugness via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So.. Take a hit to get Costa out or stick with this team?

    Foster
    Bertrand - Chambers - Naylor
    Sanchez - Siggy - Sterling - Tadic
    Aguero (c) - Welbeck - Costa

    Krul - Wanyama - Wilson - Chester

    0FT, 0.6 ITB

      Team looks good.
Leave Costa a week. You already have Aguero so no need to worry if he doesn't play and drops.

Hey everyone. Did Costa -> Agüero on Wednesday, have a FT left.

    Team looks like this:

    Krul/Eliott
    Bertrand - Alderweireld - Pieters - N.Taylor - Hutton
di María - Hazard - Fábregas - Sigurdsson - Marney
    Agüero - Pellè - Welbeck

Have the exact funds to do Alderweireld and Pieters -> Baines and Wisdom.
So should I do these moves
    a) this week for a -4 hit
    b) next week for free?

Baines is racking the points up atm. I got him in for for a hit last week and benefited with 12 additional points than I would have got.
Or you could wait a week if you fancy Southampton to keep a cleanie against Stoke and double up.

Need a bit help with transfers:

    Forster (Guzan)
    Skrtel, Clyne, Chambers (Duff, Wilson)
    ADM, Sterling, Siggy, Fab (Schneiderlin)
    Dzeko, Ulloa, Costa

a tremendous need for transfers in my opinion, but wild card is already used. 2 FT and 1.9 £ in bank.

Not a desperate need but I see your point.
      Transfers to consider:
Costa-->Aguero (City double up for a week maybe? Move Dzeko on a week later)
Dzeko--> Aguero (Downgrade Skrtel and use 1.9m is it affordable?)
      Skrtel--> Baines
      Ulloa--> Berahino or Sakho

      Midfield is fine

    McCarthy (Krul)

    Next week, 2FT =

That's not the way to think about Hazard.

Hazard cuts back onto his right foot immensely. Teams last year would use a DM to block that. Man united play a diamond formation so Hazard should have more space to cut back.

      1. Shifty
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 5 months ago

1 on 1 Rafael will commit high up the pitch and leave the rest of defence hanging. Also, Hazard will have cause so much trouble running in behind United's defence. Oscar and Fabregas can do so much damage.

That's not even considering our uselessness at defending set pieces.

you have a point. Hazard plays best when defenders stand off and wait for him to make his move, and he usually goes on to shit on them.

Rafael getting stuck in could work well. Let me have a look at Hazard's record against United and who the right back was.

Is it worth a hit to get baines in for moreno? I know some say never hit for a df and moreno is at home to one of the few teams LFC kept a cs against last season !
