I think this flexibility is underrated, taking tomorrow's game as a risk is a price worth paying. Also whilst he might score big people rejoicing are him probably starting as a guaranteed double digit score coming. All we know Mou might be cautious to limit United attacking players.
Anyone who replaced him with Beraihino, Sakho would not be that upset, Costa has to score and get bps to at least match them.
