The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

    Just tad worried about Chelsea game. My plan was to do fab to hazard when I took costa out last week but now can't fund wise...

      Fab > Hazard makes no sense so be happy you can no longer do that. You can save your FT, but look to shift Naismith soon, his time has come with Barkley's return.

    is it worth ditching one of PvA / Collo to Chambers and play him ahead of Moreno / Clyne?
    Dropping Moreno is also an option in order to get Chambers.
    Or just leave it as it is and save my FT?

    I understand the two transfers issue when dropping a player like ADM with the plan to get him back in quickly (one or two weeks) after the initial selling but the value argument seems to me to be less of an issue this season due to the partially stagnant transfer market.

    Take ADM for example, his selling price for me is 10 million, his buying back price is only 10.2 million. Thats only 0.2 extra to find and something i'm happy with if its gives me a Sanchez for example at home to Burnley.

    Any thoughts on this guys ❓

      It's going to cost you at least two transfers so if you believe that ADM will get 4 points less than Sanchez in the time that don't have him then it's worth it.

          U can always use the transfer to get in other players. Due to using 2ft to get out and get in adm it might lead to u missing some other transfers that u could have done it for free. Lets say if kun injuried next week u might have to take a hit to take him out..but if u keep adm u end up having 2ft and could sell aguero for free

      That's not too bad I guess I'm selling at 9.9 tricky for me.. I think he could score well v Man City then Hom to CP..if the likes of Costa and Hazard Sanchez fail (unlikely) and ADM scores well guess who everyone will be talking about getting in next week.

      Costa just coming back from injury, Hazard hasn't been scoring well like he did last season and yet it's all about Hazard and Costa, Sanchez in form as too ADM

    Stoke have decent fixture this gw and very good gw12 before fixtures turn bad.

    However, Stoke look so bad atm, that I'm tempted to do Wilson => Chambers altough it's highly likely that this used transfer will mean hit for gw11 or 12.

    Alexis (C) looks obvious to me all of a sudden.

    - Has got attacking returns in every home game he's started this season
    - 3 goals and an assist in last 2 games
    - Easy fixture on paper
    - Extra point for a goal compared to strikers
    - Will likely get a clean sheet point
    - 15% ownership, quite a differential compared to Costa (53%) and Aguero (25%)
    - Costa isn't fully fit (might not even start) and has more BPS competition (needs 2 goals for bonus)
    - United defence looked better against Chelsea and Aguero probably won't have Silva to supply him

    I know there are a lot more factors to consider but after spending some time analysing what are the 3 main captaincy options this week (Costa, Alexis, Kun) in my opinion, I think I've now made up my mind.

    Disclaimer: I don't have Costa. 😀

          If he beats Wilson by 4 this week, I think transfer is already paid back tough - not greatest cs odds for future, but definetely better long term prospect than Wilson.

      I think he's over-performing a touch points wise. That's not to say he's a bad pick, just that he might not deliver the haul you're hoping for. When a player is on a hot streak though it doesn't always make sense and you just go with it.

        Yeah I think one goal is realistic. That would mean 2 (mins played) + 5 (goal) + 1 (CS point 😉 ) + 2 bonus = 10 x 2 = 20 points as captain. I'd be happy with that tbh.

      He's a great pick Innsie, managers just have to make the decision whether or not it is worth a hit in particular over di Maria and Sterling given various factors (form, fixtures, ownership).

      It's a personal decision, you've listed some great points but you will get positive reinforcement from Sanchez owners/would be owners...and negative feedback from the other camp.

      Just like your Caulker speal at the start of the season 🙂

    As you can see I have AZPI suspended this week and Rooney & Costa are doubtful (I brought Roo in before the news of his injury came in). I am thinking of changing Albrighton (S. Price: 4.3 Mn) to a starting player with my 1FT so that I have cover if either of my strikers don't play and strengthen my bench in the long run.

    Should I go ahead and get somebody like Jedinak or Arfield in place of Albrighton? If yes, Who?

    Or would you suggest another course of action - play wildcard, etc?

    A) Double up on West Ham defenders - Cresswell and Jenkinson or
    B) Double United defenders - Rojo and Shaw.

      No value in that Man U double for me - £12.0 for 2 defenders who can't seem to keep a clean sheet seems a bit much - however with West Ham's strong upcoming schedule a double up appeals to me. I would go Cresswell and Reid though as I'm not sure Jenkinson is nailed on.
