The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Thinking of finally offloading Lovren to who? 5.4 to spend.

    Was thinking Chambers to free up some cash elsewhere; is he a relatively safe bet to start for Arsenal?

          ADM - he didnt play first 2 games so fab has 2 games on him. also as united click he will one of the leading points scores. much more of a goal threat. fab might get you an assist every game but ADM more likely to score and bps

    Thinking of doing PVA > Chambers with one of my FTs as a long term move. If so, who would you bench out of these?

    a) Chambers
    b) One of Bertrand or Clyne
    c) Downing

        My thoughts as well though brought Downing specifically to cover Siggy's next few games. Could split up the Southampton defenders and hedge my bets I suppose but they've done me so well as of late.

          You're in a great position and there because of your gut. Go with it. Also, Downing has good games upcoming too, so don't feel the need to use him in this GW because that was the plan

        Then it becomes a story of which one to bench lol. Wary of another Downing 2 pointer to rob me of a CS once again 😉

        Would probably bench Bertrand though if I went that route

        1. Walsh
          • 12 Years

          Yeah sure it's a concern, but Downing has been playing well and still getting into good positions. If Soton had Hull at home I'd say roll with them both but as it is I think it's a good idea to hedge there as it isn't the easiest place to keep clean....small sample size but Hull have yet to be shut out at home this term. But, as my NZ Kiwi friend said, your gut has been treating you this year so go with it! If it's telling you to sit Downing then go on 🙂

    A) Rio -> Yun/Moore
    B) Naylor -> Chambers

    Begovic
    Naylor, Bertrand, Baines
    Tadic, Cesc, Siggy, Eriksen

      Sure hope you do well this weekend as we have very similar teams: I have your same 3 forwards, 3 of your 4 mids (Hendo instead of Eriksen, but I like your guy better than mine!), and 1 of your 3 defenders (Baines, I have Clyne and Ward/Duff instead of Naylor). Oh, I have Howard instead of Bego. Good luck!
