Jack Wilshere is a big doubt for Arsenal’s home clash with Burnley, who welcome back Dean Marney into midfield. West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is in with a chance of lining up against the Potters. Brendan Rodgers rules out Jose Enrique against Newcastle, who themselves could be without forward Papiss Cisse. Sadio Mane is set to return to training as he bids to prove his fitness ahead of Southampton’s KC clash, while the FA rescind Federico Fernandez’s three-match ban ahead of Swansea’s trip to Everton.

Arsene Wenger is “quite confident” Kieran Gibbs will overcome a hip problem in time for tomorrow’s visit of Burnley. The Gunners boss expects Jack Wilshere to miss out with a “very, very short-term” knee problem, whilst he also went on to confirm Theo Walcott is “not completely ready” and won’t start against the Clarets.

Sam Allardyce has revealed that Diafra Sakho is “touch and go” for the weekend, after injuring his shoulder during the win over Man City. Allardyce confirmed the Hammers will monitor the forward’s condition before Saturday, whilst James Tomkins and Matt Jarvis have recovered from their injuries and will make a return to the squad.

Jose Enrique will miss the reunion against former club Newcastle, with Brendan Rodgers confirming that the defender has an issue with his knee. The Reds boss has also conceded he expects Daniel Sturridge to remain sidelined until after the next international break, before talking up Fabio Borini’s prospects ahead of the Magpies clash and also hinting at a change of tactics for the weekend, after mainly operating with a 4-2-3-1 in Sturridge’s absence.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has rated Papiss Cisse “touch and go” as the striker bids to overcome a knee problem in time for the Liverpool clash.

Reports in the local press indicate David Silva will miss the next three weeks with a knee problem sustained against Newcastle in midweek. Manuel Pellegrini is expected to clarify the situation in today’s lunchtime press conference.

Sean Dyche has received a boost ahead of the trip to the Emirates, with news that midfielder Dean Marney is back in contention to face the Gunners after recovering from injury.

Sadio Mane is a doubt to face Hull as he bids to overcome an ankle injury picked up last week. Ronald Koeman has announced that the winger is expected to be part of the travelling squad on Saturday, should he come through training this morning.

Federico Fernandez will be available for Swansea’s trip to Goodison after successfully appealing the red card he received in the midweek cup exit to Liverpool. Elsewhere, midfielders Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ki Sung-Yeung are both back in training ahead of the Toffees test

    Funny, a quick Granville(esque) miff...

So I said other day how since GW1 my subs all had points, but I never required them to come on, the past few GWs when subs have been required, no points sitting on bench at all...

My new 'miff' is... So I get Cisse in, after showing some form of 'form' anyhow he gets me an assist, he's then ruled out injured & Newcastle continue to win games & I would think Cisse would have been in the points if had been playing

Geezers, it's really bothering me that I don't have Alexis. Would appreciate some help.

    Krul
    Moore Rose Clyne
    Sterling Hazard Sigurdsson Tadic
    Diego Costa Agüero Welbeck

    Subs: Foster Dummett Marney Caulker

    2 FTs
    0.4 ITB

    What would you do?
    A) Caulker > Chambers / Alcaraz and save the other FT
    B) Sterling and Tadic > Sanchez and Chadli/Downing
    C) Both A and B for a hit
    D) Any other transfer

I would be more concerned with the DEF. You have Welbz already and also good CHE coverage, I would try to get in Baines (perhaps downgrade Sterling to Downing and upgrade Caulker to Baines)

I don't see the value in Baines when the cheapies are all still delivering. Besides, too many big hitters out there in attack at the moment.

Not having Alexis with that team is a bit of a first world problem, mate! You'd be losing a consistent performer in the process and have Welbeck if the Arse go mental. I like option A to be honest.

I really am tempted to go Siggy - Chadli

really makes sense I think. Chadli is due another big game and has a villa side shipping them in with no Hutton and Senderos and then Stoke and Hull.

Swansea have Everton, Arsenal and Man City. Just think this is the time to swtich??

Or just Dyer to Chadli and save the other transfer for next week.

this one is tough. some differentials are not convincing for me but they still could play so i would fix non-starter problems first. Ward-Prowse to Boyd, and trade Dyer/Cazorla.
