A number of midfielders are amongst this evening’s members piece, as we take a look the in-form options at Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham. We also cast an eye over Diego Costa’s recent form, assess Sergio Aguero’s displays compared to recent campaigns and take time to assess QPR’s in-form frontman after another impressive showing in yesterday’s narrow defeat at the Bridge.
So here is my theory on Michael Oliver's piss poor ref performance. N
Do you guys remember the Liverpool vs West Brom game GW7, Michael Oliver is the one who called the Lovren PK on Berahino which was clearly outside the box.
The following week (GW8) he tried to put his foot down on wrestling in box and called a gutsy PK on Shawcross. Later in that game, he gifted Moses a PK, which caused a bit of controversy in the media following
My guess is that he got some heat from the league or possibly the fans which made him hesitant to call a PK today. Almost seemed like he was determined not to give a PK.
Ironically, now he is getting heat for not pulling the trigger on some clear cut penalties. If MCity would've tied or lost, then this would be a much bigger deal. I'm surprised no one in the media has pointed this out.
By the way, I'm not an Aguero owner so this is not a rant, just my personal opinion.
If anything, his questionable refereeing limited the damage I took this week.
Thoughts anyone?following Gary Monk's comments**
is it crazy not have kun next got costa welb naismith
not crazy but i prob would get rid of naismith for sakho/berahino
many players fell prone to a mystery falling over illness in the derby match imo
and yes i am a citeh fan
the refs main involvement on the game was the red-for me that was caused by the player sent offDifficult to remove human nature and referee bias. You could tell he was too weak for the game, intimidated even (Joe Hart's face to face). All pen shouts last night were valid pens. For both teams.
Probably something to that argument.
Refs are human and cannot react like machines. They are subject to pressure and biases and and will certainly make mistakes.
As an Aguero captainer, I'm disappointed that he didn't end up being awarded 4 penalties, but these things happen. No need for outrage.I felt the referee's performance mirrored that of both teams - piss poor. Very disappointing game for the neutrals overall and a shoddy advertisement for the Premier League. Chelsea were the clear winners here. There's a long way to go yet but Mourinho must feel he has one hand on the trophy if he watched the game.
agreed
Worst part was that Zabaleta's challenge on RVP only a few minutes before Smalling's resembled it exactly and yet Oliver didn't book Zaba.
That wasn't the worst part...
There were more examples of that though...Clichy's 'tackle' (in the rugby/AFL/NFL meaning) of Januzaj that went unpunished.
It reminded me of a WWF script and he has been told by the premier league chiefs to stick to the script , all to create drama and increase profits
Need to transfer out Siggy but to bring in who?, suggestion anyone....
pelle or kunn next week to transfer
jedinak-save some money-watch him tonight-he doesn't seem to do quiet games
Downing or Chadli
No need.
save ur transfer. its a luxury transfer imo
make sense to do naismith to sakho for a hit if I already have downing?
is it crazy not having kunn next gw
Insane.
I have costa welb naismith dont want to take a hit so welb to pelle?
I went for Berahino just to avoid doubling up on WHam. But if you don't mind putting a few eggs in the same basket, then doubling up is not crazy.
As for the hit... I'm not sure that it is worth it stand-alone. My transfer was to fund getting Sanchez. But Naismith could very well outscore Sakho-4 this week.cheers....berahino fixtures not the best after this gw......so might be tempted to stick
What do you think about doing Hazard to Sanchez? Have no arsenal coverage and already have Costa for Chelsea coverage
its a bid 'sideways'-anything else pressing?
Nothing pressing and I've got 2FT this week
team is
Begovic
Chambers-Bertrand-Naylor
Sterling-Haz-Tadic-Siggy
Aguero-Costa-Pelle
Dummet-Moore-Marney + 0.8ITBi'd suggest sterling is pressing
Who would you suggest I move him to?
downing /jedinak ? and make some cash-you can always buy back into sterling if he and BR and sturridge recover form-i don't see this happening soon nd sterling's price is collapsing
Sterling and Tadic ➡ Sanchez and Downing?
this as well
Sterling & Tadic -> Sanchez & Downing like most did (including me). Better late than never, son.
I think that might be the way to go, Cheers guys
Bego to Adrian or
Sterling to Downing
Good moves going forward
Do it, if for Free
welb to pelle and cpt next week?
Shift Sterling
Pelle has bad fixtures coming no point get him atm..go for Sakho or Austin
Pelle looks the goods for the next 2. Whilst the following 3 fixtures are tough, I still think he'll be the likeliest to get FPL returns when Southampton host the 2 Manchester clubs and travel to Arsenal
Sanchez is a must have IMO. Haz is dispensable
Sterling has finally been culled. Downing comes in
Begovic (McCarthy)
Clyne Bertrand Naylor (Wilson, Moore)
Fabregas ADM(vc) Downing Sigurdsson (Boyd)
Aguero(c) Costa Berahino
What to do with the other FT? 3.0m in the bank
A. Berahino > Pelle
B. Sigurdsson > Tadic
C. Other?
Thoughts appreciatedYou don't have Sanchez!? Unacceptable! You must conform to the new template!
Seriously, though, it is certainly not worth taking a -8 to fit him in.
Pelle looks like a great option this week, but Southampton's fixtures turn after gw12.
Maybe save the extra transfer for the international break.Cheers El Cromulente. Ha! Not adhering to the template has cost me the past couple of GWs. Still happy to not have Sanchez in the side though. Will wait to see how the cards fall once Walcott is back in the starting XI.
It'll either be Berahino > Pelle or save the FT for the upcoming GW. A little hesitant to shift Berahino though, with the Baggies at home to Newcastle this week.
Siggy and sterling > Sanchez and Wanyama...what say?
Can't be sure of wanyama's starts but then again he is probably still worth it. What's your budget for the cheapie?
This leaves me with 0 ITB
yer
Krul Begovic
Baines Bertrand Coloccini Bruce Lovren
ADM Sanchez Fabregas Wanyama Boyd
Pelle Aguero Sakho
Good for next week?no, wanyama isn't good enough for a fifth mid
Chambers (Swa)
Reid (AVL)
Siggy (ARS)
1 to bench? (Assuming Reid is okay for the game)WC team, thoughts?
Krul, Foster
Baines, Clyne, Chambers, Wisdom, Dummet
Sanchez, ADM, Fabregas, Downing, Wanyama
Aguero, Pelle, KanePS. Clyne becomes Terry next week.
like it a lot
you've take the harry k punt-probably first of many-we'll just have to see how soon poch joins the bandwagon!!I would still pick Boyd/Marney over Wanyama.
Consudering that it is close to my actual team, I have to like it.
But I don't think that Kane is viable long-term. If you spend all your cash to get Terry, then not having the funds to upgrade Kane is really problematic. It's a good point. I could alternatively go with Boyd rather than Wanyama and that leaves enough money for Sakho instead of Kane (and also Clyne could become Cresswell).
how can I get Sanchez in here for Sterling? can't see any other reasonable way except Di Maria out..
.......................Guzan
........Chambers ᴰ Clyne ᴰ Baines
Di Maria ᴹ Fabregas ᴹ Sterling ᴹ Siggy
.........Berahino ᶠ Costa ᶠ Aguero
Gilks; Moore, Marney, Hutton
2 FT, 0.2m itbsakho is out isnt he
Costa to Pelle, simples
seems silly to sell Costa now
What does Clyne> Duff & Siggy > Downing leave you itb ? Enough ?
.2 short, yeah was looking at Clyne out potentially too
That's a shame would have been a good team
A big hitter will need to go with Aguero and Costa up front
Fab + Siggy --> Sanchez + Downing
Nice maths
Hey lads / ladies,
Any advice on this team? Happy to return the favour. 1FT and 0 ITB
Guzan (Given)
Chambers / Dummett / Wisdom (Duff, Hutton)
Sanchez / Hazard / ADM / Chadli (Obertan)
Aguero / Costa / PelleVery light in defence for me
yer got to worry with hutton out
Thanks. Any suggestions?
well you're a bit stuck in that 4.2 corner -suppose need to a some stage change the team balance
this week-cameron is currently retailing at 4.2
Cheers mate. Any suggestions?
Some front 7, will need that to offset the defence
Cheers mate. Any suggestions?
Save FT would be my advice
This
Has Sanchez become essential? Haven't seen the Burnely game but apparently he was class. Couple of tricky fixtures coming up though and he is pretty expensive.
Thoughts please?buy him before he goes into orbit
This
Saw the whole game - he was ridiculously good and has been for Arsenal's last few games (has been getting progressively better). Essentially playing as a striker. Get him in ASAP before value explodes
Must have.
I'd buy before it's too late. Essentially a strikers return from a midfielder in the game
I brought him in Saturday night... Rather defensive move. Worried about getting burned points-wise and in terms of team value.
What do people think of Cazorla? His finishing has been dire but he's been getting off an awful lot of shots in the box. Until Ozil gets back he will be playing very close to the strikers.
Keep Distance
Very off form. Most shots way off target. Likely to be dropped.
Sanchez or Walcott are the only Arsenal mids I'm interested in. Could be a decent punt but hasn't shown any signs of consistent form really
good player
in fpl terms lost in a star filled midfield
avoid
I knew it had to happen eventually but I saw my first red arrow of the season! Dropped a whole 9 places and now sit in 41st . Kicking myself for not doing Sterling + Welbeck > Sanchez + Berahino/Sakho last week with my 2 FTs like I had planned. I went the conservative route and did PVA > Chambers and saved a FT for next week so wasn't all bad! I finished with a decent 75 points considering I captained Costa this week
The real question now is do I still go after Sanchez or is it too late? swa + MUN over the next two aren't the greatest fixtures and surely by then Walcott will be an option? Perhaps do Sterling > Chadli? Could use the extra money to upgrade Welbeck as wellI was thinking the same..generally when a player gets 3 big hauls..he stops after that...there are some exceptions..but we don't know whether Sanchez is one or not...Don't want to disrupt my team because of a single player..but he could destroy my team as well
He's bordering the way too expensive range. I fear if I don't get him now then I probably never will. Contemplating taking my 2nd hit of the season. Thoughts on something like this?
Sterling + Welbeck + Naylor > Sanchez + Sakho + Saylor (-4)not sold on the Naylor --> Saylor transfer..other two look good
Sadly 0.2M off so need the money. Got priced out by being too patient
I did Costa + Naylor + Sterling > Sanchez + Baines + Sakho (-4) which is similar. I'd go it.
That sounds lovely. Think I just might...
There's 3.3 million below you and 40 above , just think about that for a second 🙂 keep up the good work mate
Thanks mate! A nice little bump for you this week as well 🙂 Keep 'er going!
Nicely done! Keep it up.
Sanchez is becoming very template. So not owning him is dangerous, in my opinion.Ugh.. I know. Don't see how it's going to be possible to own Costa + Aguero + ADM + Baines + Sanchez + Fab and field a decent team 😆
I had planned to do Cahill + Sterling ➡ Chambers + Sanchez for -4. I decided to save my FT. Can't afford to do it now 🙁
Ouch. That hurts 🙁 Probably the sensible thing to do though. At least you can take some solace in that
Yeah. I didn't want to sell Cahill before QPR, and Sterling stats away from home kept me away from doing it 😛
Got Eriksen in 2 weeks ago... Hold or sell him and Sterling for Sanchez and Downing. Have 2 FT
do it
i would not trust a single penny to the bank of pochHold Eriksen
My aim for after the break
The 3 amigos (Sanchez AdM Aguero ) +
Costa & Hazard +
Baines
Rest of team will consist of a budget 3rd forward , Boyd , 3 decent cheapie defenders and a solid sub 5.m GkYep 5m keeper is where the question lies for me, could try Fabianski for 2 weeks
Yep Fabianski or Adrian good up until Xmas, Krul has 4 good games coming though including QPR home but that's very short term
Only player I'm worried about after transferring out is Welbeck. He seemed unlucky to have a few himself Sat? I guess Sahko is a viable replacement.
Siggy and more so Sterling don't worry me so much with Sanchez and Downing performingafter 2 weeks Austin is a great option...
Welbeck to pelle yay or nay
If Mannone starts and gets a RC. Is their a chance that non Mannone owners could go up the rankings with no one left to play?
wishing on a star...
pants will startyeah there is...but why will Mannone get a Red...don't get to see Keeper get red often..
Maybe Mannone will take out a player in a one on one situation and conceded a pen + RC 😛
Well he's made every other possible cock up over the last few weeks so it's not out of the question
Possible, sure. Likely? No.
All the auto-subs would certainly have more of an effect.
Boyd or Wanyama?
welb to pelle yay or nay
Definite yay, Pelle is immense for the saints
Boyd. (5th mid)
I have Boyd, but if I had 2 ft right now or was on a wildcard I would get Wanyama
So i need a 9 million and below punt to warm a spot for Wally until he's fit and raring to go again..
Considerin Oscar. Good fixtures. Seems nailed on now and in good form. 36 points in 5 games cant be ignored really.. Any better short term punt?Oscar/Nasri and Mane all look good
Cheers mate.. on WC 😎
I think he is the best Punt you can get!
According to RMT Chadli is a better option over Downing?
Thoughts?I'd say its quite even. I own both and I think you'd be better off with Downing as he gets plenty of set pieces.
I switched from chadli to downing just now, for the following reasons
1) downings fixtures are better
2) hes cheaper
3) i feel a bit dirty having spu*s players in my team
hows this looking chicos? any suggestions?
courtois
baines clyne chambers
hazard sanchez chadli downing
pelle Naismith aguero
subs myhill siggy colo mooreWas there any timetable given for Sakho's injury?
Gameweek 11's best differential
Which low ownership player is going to explode with unexpected points this week?
I have a feeling Mane could be a shout this week.Mane, Valencia Kane
Ings or a Stoke player , think they will nick it 1-0 , Adam or even Cameron with the goal
Thoughts of this team :
Bego
Baines Chambers Duff
Hazard Downing DiMaria Sanchez
Berahino Costa Aguero
*I can get that with a -8 after the break will captain Costa for WBA
Bego Berahino will soon become Adrian Sakho afterWhy the f*** did i do Sterling to Eriksen? Don't you hate it when you regret a transfer immediately after making it?!
Me too, and considering removing now,
any suggestions for a 7.5 mid to replace siggy? already have downing and chadli
And now I feel I shouldn't have bought Naughton. 😐
Should I go Hazard + Fab? or sell one to accommodate for Sanchez or ADM?
What's happening with Moore?
He's been poor the past couple games and Leicester needed to change something at the back. Same as last season when he suddenly went on a horrid run of form and was dropped for the second half of the season. i'd look to get rid if you got a luxury transfer
RMWCT
Krulliott
Baines Alderweireld Wisdom Saylor Yun
Adm Sanchez Downing Oscar Boyd
Aguero Costa Sakho/Berahino
0.9 in the bank to upgrade Oscar to Wally when Wally starts playing 90. Alderweireld will become Naylor after 2 weeks.Nice team. I'm gonna WC to something similar in a couple of weeks. How nailed on is YUN? I don't like "wasting" transfers on defenders
Very.. Been their best player the past few weeks. Finally given a chance and has blossomed. Very attacking too. Expect a couple of blinders from him this season.
Moore to Yun then 😉
You WCed 😯
Looks good!Yup.. got fedup of looking at my team and seeing
Terry, Duff, Eriksen, Sterling, Siggy, Tadic, Welbeck
Needed a change 🙂
after 2 weeks Alderweireld's fixtures take a turn..no point keeping him..rest looks good
Have Clyne atm.. was thinkin of swapping him for Alderweireld for 2 weeks since it looks like 2 nailed on CS's.. Chambers the other option(and he is making money for me atm) but i dont like his fixtures.
im sitting on clyne bar these situation
- free transfer to spend on
- not returning poiints anymore. fixture wise yeah it seems scary, but wouldn rush into ditching him just yet
No wanyama 🙁
Gonna make a profit and then swap for the more nailed on, better fixtures and cheaper Boyd
