As you’ll be aware by now, we’ve joined forces with Fantasy iTeam (FiT) for this season’s Champions League campaign. Having supported their popular World Cup game, we’ve teaming up once again to cover Europe’s elite club competition and with Matchday 4 only hours away – due to Zenit’s home clash against Bayer Leverkusen kicking off at 5pm GMT– we’re back with out latest round of picks for your perusal.

A free Fantasy football app, FiT is available on a number of mobile devices, including iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. It’s free to download and play, so you can already go in and start drafting up your starting XI, with unlimited transfers right up until 10 minutes before this evening’s first kick-off.

We’re supporting FiT throughout the competition and have an official Fantasy Football Scout League, with an iPad mini available to the winner. There’s also a VIP European Match Day Experience for two on offer for the overall winner of the Fantasy iTeam Champions League game.

Having rolled out a Rule Guide and taken a look at some of the best budget options in the player price list, we now get to grips with the upcoming schedule and offer four player tips for the next two evening’s matches.

Tuesday

As domestic defences know only too well, Alexis Sanchez has looked in irresistible form since moving up front for the Gunners. Available for 9.1m, the Chilean already has a goal and assist in this season’s Champions League and a plum home clash with Anderlecht looks too good to ignore, offering us serious armband potential.

A weekend defeat to Bayern Munich kept Dortmund mired in the Bundesliga drop zone but Jurgen Klopp’s side have cast aside their domestic woes to flourish in Europe. Dortmund have won all three Group D matches without conceding a single goal and, having already beaten visitors Galatasaray 4-0 last time around, will be confident of yet another victory. Marco Reus (7.4m) grabbed a goal and assist in Turkey a fortnight ago and netted against Pep Guardiola’s side at the weekend, highlighting his strong form ahead of this one.

Juventus will be out to avenge a 1-0 reverse in Olympiacos in the previous round of fixtures as the Greek outfit pay visit tonight. The Serie A side have won every home match in the league this season and, after being utilised as a sub at the weekend, the 9.2m-priced Carlos Tevez will be fully refreshed as he looks to replicate the form that has already served up six goals and four assists in nine league appearances.

Defending champions Real Madrid could be set for a goal feast as Liverpool’s dodgy defence rolls up to the Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti’s team have scored at least three goals in each of the last six in all competitions and have already eased past the Reds at Anfield – James Rodriguez warmed up for this one with a brace against Granada at the weekend and, available for 8.0m, the Colombian is finding his best form just in time for the Merseysiders’ meeting.

Wednesday

Shakhtar Donetsk look strong favourites for tomorrow evening’s home match with Bate Borisov. The Ukrainian outfit put seven past their opponents without replay in the previous Matchday, with Luis Adriano bagging an incredible five-goal haul – the Brazilian, who is also on spot-kicks, comes in at 7.4m.

After winning each of their first three Group E matches, Bayern Munich know a home win against Roma will be enough to clinch a place in the knockout stages. Having beaten their opponents 7-1 on the road last time out, Pep Guardiola’s side look in irresistible form right now and Arjen Robben (8.1m) will be hoping to replicate his brace and assist against the Serie A side once again.

A win for Bayern could prove pivotal to City’s chances of progressing. Manuel Pellegrini’s side would climb to second if they can see off CSKA Moscow at the Etihad and after being omitted from the starting XI against United on Sunday, Edin Dzeko (8.4m) could be poised to return to the first-team and fire his side to a vital victory.

PSG’s home encounter with APOEL Nicosia brings Lucas Moura into consideration. Having back match-winner Edinson Cavani last time around, we’re opting for the 6.6m-priced Brazilian, who has scored five times in the league this term – joint-top for Laurent Blanc’s side.

Fantasy Football Scout League

We’ve already set up an official Fantasy Football Scout league for you to join, with an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

    WC'ing:

    Pantilimon Forster
    Baines Alderweireld Chambers Wisdom Robertson
    Sanchez Hazard Tadic Boyd Barkley
    Aguero Berahino Welbz

    Thoughts? Berahino or Sakho.

Thinking of Baines to Clichy to free up a little bit of cash? And maybe Hazard to ADM?

I'd just go with a cheapie alongside Forster, then upgrade Alderweireld to Clichy.

      Wouldn't go for Barkley yet.

Quite like the idea of a double Saints defence right now, you not think it's too fruitful to not have? And yeah I'm umming and aaahing over Barkley, not sure who else could go there

I have Clyne and Forster, yeah, but I don't see the need to have Pantilimon rather than saving some cash on a 4.0 keeper.

Alderweireld won't get the BAPS/assists of a Clyne/Bertrand so as you can't afford them, I'd probably go for Clichy.

Just had a tinker, can take Pants and Robertson out for Jakupovic and Clichy, therefore keeping my double Saints coverage. Thanks!

I WCed 3 weeks ago and have had three successive double Saints clean sheets, but I'm shipping Forster after the next two. It may be too late for you to benefit from doubling up for much longer, I fear.

yeah that's another worry, they could be good enough to pick a clean sheet or two up in those fixtures but it's a depressing moment when you double up then see them concede lol

I wouldn't feel comfortable with one, let alone both, in some of those games, and that's what worries me. Fair play if you do. I had to play both v Hull this weekend and was pleasantly surprised! Man City et al are a bit tougher though, and I think money could be spent better elsewhere (WHU) now.

Was all set to get Dzeko out this week, but now have Huttona dn PvA injured, Moore dropped too, in danger of only having three defenders this week!

What would you advise with 2 FT's and 0.1m??

            Lloris 4.0
            Bertrand Chambers PvA Hutton Moore
            Siggy Fabregas Eriksen Sterling Boyd
            Dzeko Aguero Costa

Dont worry about defence i would use 2FT liek this:

              Sterling > Sanchez
              Dzeko > Sahko

If someone is looking to downgrade from an Aguero, Costa combo to integrate Sanchez, Costa wins because of Value for money right?

Both can be prolific and can score against anyone so fixture analysis would seem to be irrelevant.

              Aguero for me.

I think "cover" allows you to manage without Costa if you have Hazard and/or Fabregas. Realistically City don't have a mid that allows that for Aguero, especially with Silva out.

And I just think Aguero is the better player.

            2. Jay_
                11 years, 5 months ago

It's a tough one because Aguero is the only City attacker worth having , there's lots of Chelsea midfield options but they are similar priced as Costa , if Oscar was nailed week in week out it would be easier to go without Costa

Anyone else believe over the next 3 games ADM is a better pick than Sanchez considering the fixtures? You have to bare in mind that ADM's 2 previous blanks have been against top sides where as Arsenal have had a a very kind run past 3 games which is reflected in Sanchez's form.. I feel by getting Sanchez it's just chasing points, especially given their next 3 games being quite tough and players like Walcott + Giroud coming back into the mix may be threatening to Sanchez's place in the future because of chopping and changing for Champions League weeks.

It is the age old debate of form vs fixtures. It is so close between the two over the next few considering how advanced Sanchez is playing, if Sanchez keeps this high role over the season he will be a must in my eyes because of his goal threat.. I just feel people taking hits to lose ADM for him now may suffer the consequences.

Somebody in my mini league somehow got into my friends team before the deadline on the weekend and changed his captaincy from Costa to Wisdom and then taunted him about it after 11:30...that move slightly backfired

Favoritism sometimes can blind you. Got eriksen over chadli two weeks ago when chadli was better value.

With the extra spare couldve upgraded sterling to sanchez last week. 🙁

I could have done Sterling for Oscar but went for Downing instead. This should allow me to do Pelle to Costa next week (or the week after). I reckon Fab or Haz are all you need from Chelsea midfield.

Thinking this, he's a machine though 😀 and surely Chelsea will get tighter at the back soon. I also have Clyne, Baines wisdom, Hutton

Yeah he is a machine! But if he isn't bringing in FPL points he could be the terminator for all i care and I'd still ship him out. His attacking returns have dried up as the season has gone on ( a lot of people predicted this as it is a pattern from previous seasons) If you wan't him in for the clean sheet potential I'd personally look elsewhere in the Chelsea back four and use the spare cash elsewhere.

I feel it could be a good move considering Chelsea's kind run of fixtures and Hazard + Oscar really finding their feet (with Hazard being more advanced than Costa on the weekend and Oscar with really decent influence making that number 10 role his)

                A) Fab/Sterling > Di Maria/Tadic
                B) Siggy/Sterling > Di Maria/Boyd

No not at all with Chelsea having a decent run of fixtures. Fabregas is proven fantasy gold with his consistency, Oscar is looking explosive sitting behind Costa, as well as undroppable given his form and Costa is a proven goalscorer and i can see him doing huge damage soon now he's returned to fitness.

Praying he gets starts and capitalises on them. I reckon he'll be fantasy royalty at his price! However he'll have a lot more pressure starting premier league games, we'll have to see how he handles it.

Fabregas - Di Maria - Sanchez - Downing
                Aguero - Costa - Berahino

How can I improve this with 0.0m ITB?

subs are : - Elliot, Wisdom, Boyd, Targett

so I could potentially squeeze out 0.4m if I went Berahino for Sako

It's James Milner for crying out loud!!! Ain't broke, don't fix it. You'll also give yourself a rotation issue each week.

I like your team mate i don't think you need to improve it - for me west ham fixtures are decent so sahko would be my preference

                a) luis & cazorla to clichy & Wally
                b) Sterling & cazorla to Sanchez & Downing /chadli (abit reluctant about downing though)
                C) sterling cazorla to adm & chadli/mane

leaning towards option a for differential. help needed guys

Teixeira seems to be the flavor of the day. I don't see any way worth it though with that squad.

He was definitely enough last week 😎

Tbh I think Calhanoglou will blank and he's a doubt anyway so I'm tempted to ditch, but I'll probably end up keeping

I didn't know he was a doubt - but yeah can't see much for Leverkusen in Russia this morning. I've had Bellarabi and he's getting on my nerves too. That could be a good transfer if you have .5 in the bank. Wouldn't hit for it though.

Yeah apparently he came off early in their cup game. I don't have the 0.5 so I'll just leave it

Guys, I am definitely shifting out Welbeck for Sakho.

The question is; do I do it this week, or after the International break?

Both will be free, so it comes down to opinions on points this weekend + value changes?

People seem to be shipping Welbeck out so he may drop in price.. Personally I fancy Sakho scoring this weekend more than Welbeck given form.. Plus it gives you another option for a free transfer for after the international break.

Get him he has done great since coming in and his runs behind the Defence are matched by noone else. Had a niggle last week otherwise would have started.

For me, yes. I want players 100% of a start and even though Mane's stats show him to be a large threat, the thought of only a 20 minute run out some weeks puts me off.

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked a thousand times just in a different way, but would it be daft to make the following transfers in order to get Sanchez in today??

Bertrand > Yun (to free up funds)
                  Chadli > Sanchez

                  4pt hit
