Having run the rule over the sides set to ease their way into December, itโ€™s now time to check on the teams granted a more treacherous path. Monday nightโ€™s participants provide the headline acts, while a cloud is hovering ominously over the Potteries. Elsewhere, we offer early warnings on some prime Fantasy assets on show at St Maryโ€™s and the Emirates.

Sunderland

โ€œfrisking

Sunderland’s victory at Crystal Palace was all the more crucial given the schedule awaiting both clubs going into December.

Gus Poyetโ€™s side will be desperate to build on the precious three points earned at Selhurst Park but find themselves on a collision course with Everton, Chelsea and Man City in their next three home matches. Itโ€™s fair to say that new stopper, Costel Pantilimon, will be kept busy during that period, while Steven Fletcherโ€™s revival will be put to the test given that opportunities could be at a premium in the coming weeks. Poyet has earned results against the “bigger” teams before of course but, even so, the away trip to Leicester in Gameweek 12 looks vital if the Black Cats are to avoid being dragged back down into the relegation places by Christmas.

Crystal Palace

โ€œfrisking

Neil Warnock will have known the significance of Mondayโ€™s loss, with the fixture computer conspiring against his side over the next five Gameweeks.

A trip to Old Trafford without their suspended skipper Mile Jedinak and attacking spark, Wilfried Zaha, is followed by a home clash with Liverpool and a visit to Swansea. The Eagles then have a crunch clash with Villa at home, before taking on Spurs at the Lane.

Fantasy managers will have been warned off their inconsistent assets following Mondayโ€™s defeat and the schedule offers very little incentive to revisit Warnockโ€™s charges until that Villa meeting.

Stoke

โ€œfrisking

Pegged back by West Ham on Saturday, Mark Hughesโ€™s men face a torrid run over their next five, with the Britannia meeting with Burnley in Gameweek 12 looking crucial to their chances of retaining a mid-table position. Around that Potteries clash, Stoke face three evil away trips to Spurs, Liverpool and Man United and then a home encounter with Arsenal.

Hughesโ€™ rearguard has shipped seven goals in their last four: if youโ€™ve held your Stoke defensive assets through that period, now is the time to show them the door.

Also be wary of…

Southampton
Ronald Koemanโ€™s outfit currently look unstoppable โ€“ capable of scoring goals across the team and reinforced by the best defence in the Premier League. That winning formula will be put to the test, however, once theyโ€™ve disposed of the St Maryโ€™s meeting with Leicester and a “routine” trip to the woefully out-of-form Villa. City, Arsenal and United are hovering and they offer enough attacking menace to have us check for alternatives to our Saints defensive assets from Gameweek 13 onwards.

West Brom
While the Baggies face a pair of Hawthorns clashes with Newcastle and West Ham in the next four, encounters with Arsenal and Chelsea are sandwiched in the middle. When you consider Newcastleโ€™s resurgence and West Hamโ€™s goal power, youโ€™d have to say that those holding Ben Foster or Andre Wisdom will be anticipating scant returns from that quartet. Meanwhile, Saido Berahino owners will likely be holding with one eye on West Ham’s Diafra Sakho as a cheaper replacement with stronger fixtures to come.

Arsenal
While the Gunners are being fired by the genius of Alexis Sanchez, Arsene Wengerโ€™s flat-track bullies do not have the easiest of runs in the coming weeks. They may well get results against Swansea, United, West Brom and Southampton but โ€“ on paper – they’re up against three of the most improved defences over that spell. Bizarrely, given Unitedโ€™s casualties at the back, the Emirates meeting with Louis van Gaalโ€™s men may actually provide the best platform for goals.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah, i agree. Atm sakho is probably looks like a better choice than enner, but if u ever watched whu games u should notice enner has been more involved in attacking build up than sakho.
Sakho has benefitted from more advance position and he scored more goals, that’s true.
But i don’t think he can regularly get assists point, he is more like a targetman
Enner is more than capable to create chances and also scoring goals, thats the reason why i rate him higher than sakho. One more thing, carroll is coming back soon and i think he will rotate with sakho, especially in christmas period.
        *cheers*

Chelsea only with one pen so far. They'll get quite a few more, and i would expect Hazard to step up in terms of goals from open play, not like he hasn't got the quality. Also Fabregas seems to tail off during the 2nd half of seasons, so could see Hazard pick up more of the slack in the assists department too. He started slowly last year too i think, ending up on 200+

We all know that anticipated performance of team vs actual performance of team leads to particular assets being under/overvalued.

Given upcoming fixtures I am considering tripling up on west ham attacking assets with Sakho/Valencia/Downing. Virtually covers all of their goals, pens aside.

Not only are these guys reaping points consistently, they are dirt cheap and I could virtually buy any other players I like.

Anyone else tempted to commit so fully to a team, or ever done so before for similar reasons?

        Will do fella.

Tbf, at the mo they are in fifth and have only scored two fewer goals than Southampton, who of course had the 8-0 drubbing. I'm only considering it because of the funds it would create. I could have four premium midfielders of my choice plus baines

I'm not sure I would do that as if the team blanks, all your players blank and, for all their good form, we are still talking about West Ham don't forget.

I've got 3 Saints players currently but two are defenders.

No. Spending an extra 4m on your back line is going to get you limited returns..people are managing to accommodate Costa, Kun, Sanchez, AdM and Hazard without having to do that

Fair comment. I do feel that people have often achieved that by being extremely weak in the supporting areas tho

Less so with Valencia. But certainly sakho and downing! May even get a defender.

Many here with three saints, myself included.

Yeah, I realise it isn't a popular move. Not seen anyone else do it. It's hard to deny the brand of football they are playing, the juicy fixtures coming up, and the value tho.

Obviously if they blank as a team it would be annoying but I would still have four premium midfielders plus costa/aguero and baines to get me out of the hole.

Someone said Valencia/sakho is ridiculous. Harsh considering they are both producing, and if one fails the only one probably won't.

It's just an idea, but I am tempted. I finished 3k last year, and am not prone to such moves, but am tempted to give it a go as an experiment

I do this regularly, but usually later in the season. I'm also tempted by the west ham option but only if I can spend the rest of my money in a way that satisfies me

I have been considering this too for the past few days. My dilemma is- I have Sakho, Pelle & Berahino. If I was to bring in Valencia, i'd have to drop either Pelle or Berahino this gameweek. Both have tasty fixtures. Tough decision!

    Advice would be appreciated guys:

    Foster McCarthy
    Chambers Naylor Bertie Moore Hutton
Di Maria Sterling Siggy Fab Boyd
    Aguero Costa Pelle

    0 ITB and 2FT

Decided against getting Alexis as don't want to lose Di Maria or any of the front 3
I'm weighing up these options instead:
    A) Sterling to Tadic (but Saints fixtures turn soon)
    B) Sterling to Chadli
    C) Sterling to Downing & Naylor to Baines

Options A & B will still give me 2FT for the IB

    Baines / Bertrand / Moore / Wilson / Taylor
    Boyd / Sigurdsson / ADM / Sterling / Chadli
    Aguero / Costa / Pelle

2 FT 0.1M in the bank

    A) Sterling + Costa ----> Sanchez + Sakho

Spotting out of form players is very easy, just have to sack up and sell them no matter the case.
