As we brace ourselves for yet another international break, we turn to Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures and delve into the data in our first members article of the week. We assess Southampton’s chief creator and main frontman as the points start to dry up, cast an eye over Chelsea’s penalty box predator, Man City’s talismanic Argentine and Newcastle’s recent defensive displays as the clean sheets keep coming for Alan Pardew’s men.

    Guzan (Given)
    Bertrand - N. Taylor - Shackell (Hutton, Moore)
    Sanchez - Di Maria - Fabregas - Jedinak (Boyd)
    Aguero - Costa - Berahino

    1.0m ITB

    Any suggestions on my next move? I'm considering keeping the FT.

    1) Berahino -> 6.9m Forward
    2) Jedinak -> 6.0m Midfielder
    3) N. Taylor -> 5.6m Defender

        I'm not making any moves until after the internationals. This would be at that time.

    Fabianski (Krull)
    Coleman, Clyde, Jagiielka, (Dawson, Shlupp)
    ADM, Chadli, Downing, Tadic, (Diame)
    Pelle, Costa, Berahino

    2.3 in the bank !
    I need a shot of adrenaline any advice who to drop or who too add?
    Is it too early to make any transfers ?
    Would a ADM for Sanchez make sence ?

      I don't even know where to start, but I'll try.....

      You need to get rid of Tadic for sure....you need to get Aguero for sure......you should have Baines for sure.....you shouldn't get rid of ADM to do any of it.

          I personally don't put as much weight into waiting as others do, but it is slightly risky to pick up players who have a history of getting injury's. But if money is tight, I'd do it right away.

    Carrying on the Southampton top 4 discussion from the last page...

    I know West Brom, Hull and Newcastle have been in similar positions at similars points in seasons past but I think Southampton are being dismissed too easily. They have the best defense in the league and the best CM pairing in the league. And their manager is a hard nosed, no nonsense type who knows how to scrape results.

    I wouldn't bet against them.

      i predicted they'd finish 5th around gw4. I still stand by that. They could get 4th but need a lot of luck with injuries. They don't have the depth.

        I was saying before the season started that they'd finish above Everton and push United hard for a EL spot. And people told me I was crazy and that they would get relegated! 😀

            no, just not someone who gets carried away by the negative hype of teams selling loads of players. Koeman is a good coach, and they bought smartly.

            I didn't know much about Tadic or Pelle apart from that they scored bucketloads in holland, but Alderweireld and Forster were very solid buys, and keeping Schneiderlin was very important as well

        I disagree. Have capable replacements at every position and JRod still to come...

        GK Boruc
        RB Aldy(Gardos comes in at CB)
        CB Gardos and Yoshida
        LB Clyne(Aldy go RB) or Targett
        CM Cork and JWP
        AM JWP/Davis Mane Isgrove
        CF Long Mayuka

          we have to agree to disagree then. Long, mauka, isgrove, targett, gardos, yoshida? Every team has back up players we could rattle off. By depth i mean players that can step in without hurting the quality of the team much. They rely heavily on pelle and tadic in aattack. Without them they wouldn't be half the team they are.

              to get 4th with key players having injuries it's not. My whole point is they could get 4th if thry have some luck on the injury front

                But neither us, City or Arsenal are up to snuff. There's plenty of quality in depth in their squad to pull it off.

                  i agree, if they are lucky with injuries 🙂 we agree 4th or 5th is doable but if they lose some key players they will drop right off. It will hurt them more than the usual top 4 suspects.

      They did also just play SUN STO hul LEI though, hardly the toughest fixtures so far. A successful Winter would be massive for them, as thats when they play Everton, Unitedx2, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, which are the teams they will be fighting for top 4 with

            So exactly the same except you like Hazard instead of Costa. I can live with that....but only if I was building an actual team, not for FPL. I love Hazard....believe me.....but Costa is a fantasy stud atm. He is averaging a goal every 75.1 minutes currently.

    Howard, Gilks
    Cahill, Clyne, Chambers, Wisdom, Naylor
    Sanchez, Downing, Mane, Siggy, Marney
    Aguero, Welbeck, Costa,

    1ft, 2.8m in the account.
    Think I may go for Baines..
    Cahill has some good fixtures.
    Could go Naylor to Baines too but worried about being short in midfield..

    What would u do here?

    Tinkering a lot. My latest plan with my 2FT!

    Moore>Azpilicueta
    Pelle>Austin

    Next week:

    Clyne>Taylor
    1.0M ITB

    Simple but I keep the 352 🙂

    This Austin vs Sakho thing is tricky.

    Obviously Sakho has a better record, but Austin looked immense vs city. Both have good fix.

    Heart says Austin, head says sakho.

    Any of you made your minds up?

      Yep I have: I'm not going to get a budget striker because it's bound to end up in tears (see Ulloa, Berahino, Bojan and Naismith).

        I'd add Welbeck to that list. Expected so much more from him than 1g 2a in the 4 games i had him, considering the fixtures he had.

        I've done Welbeck>Austin, though I'm only planning to play him in home games most likely, which is where QPR are good and he is most destructive.

          Yeah, sometimes you've just got to set a deadline though. cheap strikers are really hit and miss, but usually come good over time. I'm planning to give Austin 4 home games: LEI BUR WBA and CPL, which is 8 GW's. Need to find a cheap mid who rotates well with him though.

            No way. Berahino well capable of getting something on the counter. I say this as a Berahino and Sakho owner. Only player I'll sell Berahino for is Rooney.

                No doubt. I'd hold fire unless you think you'd want one for the long haul in which case I reckon Sakho is your man. If I had to choose one it'd be him over Berahino.

      I'm pretty certain on Sakho. Both teamsdecent fixtures and can score goals. But just ook at the amount of goals West ham are putting away. Often scoring 2,3. For that reason I've gone Sakho over Austin.

    Getting Sanchez now feels like being a wet dog cowering with its tail between its legs while it stumbles reluctantly in through the backdoor after spending the night in the pouring rain, or being the cleanup crew for a massive drug-fueled all-night hotel-room rave. You can't win no matter what you do, but you know you have to just accept and get on with it. Sigh.

    Woah considering this moves.

    FORSTER
    CLYNE Baines Chambers Duff Moore
    FAB Sanchez diMaria Chadli Boyd
    PELLE Aguero Sakho

    Fab Pelle -> Siggy Costa this week.
    Forster -> Fabianski next week
    Clyne -> Azpi after.

    Can't delay the first move though as I have exact money for these moves - unless Clyne / Forster rise before Azpi / Fabianski

            Goodto know we have very similar teams going forward..... ive had Ivan since gw2 and hes pissed me off majorly in that time and ive just seen baines score and score and aguero so they were the only 2 reasons i wc..... and to clear out a few for the next few weeks

              I belive Ivan will come good soon, No need to drop on WC mate. Chelsea just lost CS by just 1 goal for last 4 or 5 matches or so. Even if on WC, no need to drop Ivan, just try to get both Ivan and Baines on WC with Newcastle and Swansea defence and I think it is good to go.

      Dummet, Ivan, Baines, Wisdom, Yun
      ADM, Siggy, Downing, Chadli, Sanchez
      Aguero, Costa, Zamora(or a cheapie who nail on)
