It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

Lubricate your hinges via this link, or bathe in WD40 via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Who would you bench from this front 8 this weekend?

    Sanchez Oscar Siggy Hazard Downing
    Aguero Austin Pelle

This assumes that I do Tadic>Hazard (-4) first. I'm thinking its either gonna be Downing or Pelle...

I would bench pelle but its a tough choice.

Yeah, I'm leaning that way too. Was considering selling him for Ings this week but I think I'm going to do Clyne>Caulker instead, and leave my options up top open another few days.

Was looking easy when Downing was injured lol...

Fwiw, I will be playing Krul in goal (if fit).. so maybe Downing is the better choice to bench

i wouldn't say its a FAR superior fixture... City looked terrible defending in midweek at times... that Lewandowski goal was so soft for example.. and he is a striker afterall

    My team is a mess..

    Forster*
    Baines* Clyne Chambers Duff Moore
    Sanchez AdM Cesc Chadli* Boyd
    Aguero Pelle* Sakho*

    * are the ones I want to get rid ASAP due to injury and form.

    a) Sakho -> Austin
    b) Baines (if out) -> Azpi
    c) Chadli (if out) -> Siggy
    d) A + B + C (-4)
    e) Baines Chadli Sakho -> Yun Hazard Austin (-4)
    f) Baines Chadli Sakho -> Azpi Oscar Kane (-4)
    g) All above + Pelle -> Bony (-4)

How is everyone else faring with flags/injuries?

Kinda worried about going into 3 games in a week with 4 flags in my team... 😕

Krul - have Elliot though so should be ok
Baines - really need him to pull through, 7m is alot to have on the bench for more than one week
Duff - if he (and Baines) is out I might have to rely on Wisdom at home to Arsenal
Chadli - have Boyd to cover him but it'll be bare bones again

Should get 11 out, but it's the quick turnover that concerns me, which is the reason why I'm thinking I'll save my FT this week and see what happens...

As it turned out the transfer actually worked in my favour overall allowing me to grt Azpi in and Boyd coming off the bench for 2pts same as Austin. This week could hurt though.

      Krul, Wilson and Downing.
I saved FT last week and ended up with 10 men.
Going for -4 this week, but only selling Wilson out of those flagged ones.

In a similar boat, Duff seems out. So if Baines is too, might have to transfer to get a back 3 playing.

Chadli hasn't train this week I heard; possible but unlikely to play. Got Boyd as coverage but wondering if Siggy (-4) is worth it with those fixtures.

Fortunately both of my keepers are injured... Begovic and Krul... a week after they played BUR and QPR respectively... funny how these injuries couldn't be more coordinated :/

Baines and Downing are my other two doubts. I can deal with Downing's fine (might bench him anyways), and have Chambers(wba) to cover Baines so its not that bad

In my experience, spending more on defenders and expecting attacking returns leaves you feeling nothing but bitter and frustrated by the end of it, only to find the cheapest option was the one to get that assist you had been craving all along anyway for 1m+ less...

Just get Apzi IMO, or if you are desperate to get someone with more attacking threat, perhaps Terry at 6.3m...

I might have to get Zamora this week if I want Kun. 🙁

I hate spending points. Truly. I come on the top 10K pretty much every year, and I think it's that aversion that probably stops me being a 'top top' player.

Now, here's the thing. I have Sakho, and he almost certainly won't play.

Not the end of the world because I have Tadic who would come in. Is it worth spending 4 points to bin Tadic for a top alternative?

        I can afford anyone.

Sanchez hazard di Maria absolutely worth it especially if you have other plans for your ft next week

My hesitancy has cost me transferring In Sanchez before his run and Hazard last week. And once I miss the optimum moment I can't seem to just suck it up and put them them in. I need a blank first!

I have a Siggy yes. Di Maria, who I held for fixtures. Plus Fabregas and Downing

I'm going to take a -8 this week on Tadic>Hazard and one of Pelle>Ings or Clyne>Caulker. I feel like it'll be worth it when the fixtures come thick-and-fast next week

All I can find on Chadli is this, a tweet from last Sunday from a Sky reporter

        https://twitter.com/MichaelBridge_/status/536662059304624128

However there were also reports chadli had a scan this week on his knee but just no reports at all on the results

        Best captain pick?
        A. Di Maria
        B. Fabregas
        C. Sanchez
        D. Aguero
        E. Costa

        Currently on Di Maria.
