It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

    Main concerns are;

    A - Welbeck (injured? and not performing in PL)
    B - Which 3 to play in defence - didn't listen to RM before or after Europa League games, any news on Baines?
    C - Time to ditch Tadic?

    As with many I'm a little bewildered by my team this week. Doubts attributed to Baines, Chadli and now Krul, it could be worse but could also be a hell of a lot better. Do I wait for more news?

    Austin or Ings?

    I've an annoying habit of picking the wrong option in recent 50/50 decisions.

    Austin has the better ICT.
    Both play against sides that haven't scored away in 4.
    Villa and Leicester have lost all but 1 of their 8 combined away games.
    Both are on pens.
    QPR have scored 8 in the last 4 at home. Burnley have only scored 3.
    Burnley's next home game is Newcaste who are decent away. QPRs next home game is Burnley who aren't decent away.

    For me it's Austin hands down, and i also have Boyd.

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

              Clyne Chadli Pelle > Yun Hazard Austin.

              Most people will say it won't work out but I've got a hunch on this one. Hazard's about to explode, Austin is one of the few strikers who will be nailed over Xmas and Yun is a bargain at that price.

              I've spent ages looking at possible transfers but this allows me to keep Baines and also get rid of some Saints and Chadli, who I was planning to ditch during this week even before his injury. Haters gonna hate.

                If Baines doesn't make it this weekend, I don't see the upside to keeping Baines for now. He would then likely miss the Hull game if RM were to show some caution since City is just next weekend.

          I've suddenly gone off Rooney... Not sure why, maybe it's his position? Just got a feeling he'll blank this week... Losing ADM is risky but you know that. They're pretty sideways transfers but it could turn out to be a masterstroke.

            It's a calculated risk definitely. As a United fan, I don't see him dropping deep at this juncture. He's in a good vein of form and will continue to spearhead the United attack imo. Rooney and RVP also took corners off di Maria last game if you noticed. Plus good scoring record against upcoming opponents.

            AdM could still very well outscore Rooney in isolation anyway. But banking on Hazard/Roo outscoring Pelle/AdM over the coming weeks 🙂 still mulling over it though - by no means 100% certain.
