It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Seeing as Ivan has had a red card, if he picks up 5 yellows it's a two game ban yeah?

ADM appeals to me athough you need to take a view on the scorelines. If you see Citeh goals at STH, then Aguero comes into play.

and Sanchez...you never know...he can go big too.

Honestly can't decide atm La Roja. Firstly I was thinking Costa, lately I've been leaning towards ADM... But I'm probably getting Hazard in and will be tempted to (C) him!

Believe me I don't want to sell him. For some reason Im the only one holding him in my ML. Thanks to him I've been holding onto pole position for the last couple of weeks, but I have lost massive ground the last 2-3 weeks and another no show from Baines with rivals owning Rooney/ADM could be a massive blow to me.

Unlikely, FFF is the most reliable and have him at a rate of -0.06% per hour at an overall level of -90.5. So it would take 158 hours on that estimation, or 6 and half days.

Friday always a lot busier and you expect to see more activity but with doubts over Baines Ivano might see a few buyers offset this.

Just listening to the scoutcast...this idea dawned on me if Baines is out -

AdM, Pelle, Baines > Rooney, Hazard, Yun (-4)

    Would leave me with...

    Krul Elliot
    Clyne Chambers Wisdom Yun STaylor
    Hazard Sanchez Sigurdsson Downing Marney
    Costa Aguero Rooney

0.7m in the bank for Clyne > Azpi if I decide to do so in future weeks. Thoughts?

thanks Ryan. Rooney tends to go on these runs when gets confidence - and he obviously has bags full of it at the moment. Great scoring record against Hull and Stoke. Di Maria is class, but it still doesn't seem like he's a proper goal threat (i wouldn't count that 93rd minute missed chance as the norm)

Well the formation switch is positive for both of them. I can't see United going back to 4141 but you never know. Ultimately Uniteds formation has a large bearing on the FPL appeal on both Rooney and ADM.

If I sell Baines, I want to use the money wisely. Not sold on Chelsea defence yet. If anything, it will be a big Baines downgrade to free up cash.

Well if he's out and Downing on the mend, I don't want to use a transfer on Downing - still great value if can continue his form.

Hence the above plan if Baines is 100% ruled out. Maybe even if a slight doubt 😐 I'd have thought you'd like the Rooney switch 😀

Not saying AdM is a bad option, but just seeking thoughts on him vs Rooney. RVP and Rooney took corners off adm against Arsenal - not sure if that will continue granted. Rooney is a form player and he's coming into some good form. Might be proactive to try and get on that?

Or would rank come into play a little bit? Top of my ML, everyone has ADM. That's a pretty compelling reason to keep adm, but maybe Rooney could extend my lead 🙂

🙂 what's your take on it? Losing Baines obviously is against the grain.

But it gives me Hazard + Rooney in place of Pelle + AdM

AdM is more or less = Rooney

            But Hazard definitely outweighs Pelle!

Mate I'm probably not the best person to ask, as I don't have Baines or ADM, and I just transferred Rooney in.
I never got Baines because I decided to get Bertrand instead to go with my Clyne. Allowed me extra funds to use in midfield while Berty returned similar points to Baines.
I'm not sold on ADM (minimal touches in the box and shots from inside the box) and I agree with you that him playing OOP was just a one off. So if I was deciding between ADM and hazard, it's hazard all day.
Pelle isn't getting the opportunities he had a few weeks ago. He barely saw much of the ball in the villa game (even though I think villa will go on a good run defensively now) and I think this is something he is going to get used to against these tougher teams.
Rooney's stats haven't been great in the last few games, but look who they have played. He is still getting shots away in those games, and when given a big chance, he takes it (as we saw last weekend). So that's why I transferred Pelle to rooney this week.
Sorry for going over the top with the response. But at the end of the day, you can't have them all......

So yes Roo + Haz is better than Pelle + ADM. As long as you are able to rotate your D so that you can get similar returns compared to if you still had Baines. This game is all about using your funds effectively.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely agree with the logic there and it's what is going through my head at the moment as well - it's a calculated risk that has good chance of paying off.

You definitely lose out on someone - but it's pretty damn hard to ignore Chelsea's form at the moment. I feel it warrants a double up, while AdM vs Rooney is a coin toss imo.

Not too sure about selling ADM. I'm trying to bring im in atm. I'd keep as I'm not totally into Rooney.

Any ohter way to get Roo in? Try dowgrading Downing and Clyne instead.

Thanks. Surely Haz Roo outweighs AdM Pelle going forward though. Downing Clyne nah can't make the coin there unfortunately.

Again, this is dependent on Baines being ruled out.

form and quality in a consistent team-following the jack blogs(swansea way for instance)he's nailed down a starting place ,highly respected international player, and is increasingly involved at the business end of play

willian-excellent when he plays-is he nailed enough
Barkley-full of potential, when he's not falling over himself, doesn't look fit and another in a rotating team
Mane-came in with a blast-looked completely lost in last match-another rotating team
lamela-poch gets up in the morning -looks in the mirror and still can't decide who to pick to go out the bedroom door....

12:45pm kick-off scores so far this season...

    MUN 1-2 SWA
    AVL 0-0 NEW
    BUR 0-0 MUN
    ARS 2-2 MCI
    QPR 2-2 STK
    LIV 1-1 EVE
    MCI 4-1 TOT
    WHM 1-2 MCI
    NEW 1-0 LIV
    LIV 1-2 CHE

2.4 goals a game... No discernable pattern, really.

The only reason to not captain someone because it is the early fixture, as far as I can see, is that it can be a loooong weekend if they get a 2-pointer!

I captained Sturridge during season opener last season (Suarez out), worked well for me. Did it with Rooney this eason (I think), paid off.

You're right, torturing weekend if they get a 2 ptr, but the trend analysis is almost nothing, since anything can happen.

Could work out quite well. Honestly though I am swayed against Rooney because I think Falcao will be back and Roo will drop deeper again.

He does love playing Hull though.

Remember a few years back when he got all 4 against them in a 4-0. I had 35euro on him at 11/4. Thing was that the bookie did a special where for every other goal you got the same odds again, essentially I got 11/1 on him - 420euro back. I had about 20 bucks left to last me the week at that stage.
