This week’s ScoutCast is a throwback – a return to the days when Granville moaned about his team of red flags and names like Robin van Persie and Yaya Toure dominated our thinking.

Granville and I slip into such subject matter like it’s a pair of old slippers, whilst assessing the Aguero fall-out, the Dzeko option, Ivanovic versus “Dave” Azpi and how I’ve modelled my Fantasy Football management style on Roy Hodgson.

We roll out the regulars and lament the demise of the ScoutCast team – eliminated in the opening round of our own cup competition. Some things never change.

Swim in nostalgia via this link or roll back the years via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm going Lukaku...ManCity away...Dzeko not in best form/QPR have conceeded most away goals of any team this season...17. Lukaku is better at home 🙂

Yeah, but who first ? 🙂 Want to get Silva in. Reckon City could pump Leicester more than Everton do QPR. Then Everton will find Soton away tough enough on the week after. Dzeko does miss a good few chances, but he may still get several....

I have just got in Lukaku, so him.

I'm waiting for tomorrow's presser to see if it's likely dzeko starts. If it looks that way, he's coming in too.

But yeah, as others have said, I think Lukaku over Dzeko just now

It's just that Lukaku has screwed me over more times than not, and so am scared of getting burned by him again ! Will leave it 'til tomorrow myself. Doubt we will get much out of MP, though...

Choose Lukaku. He's nailed on to play QPR whereas Dzeko might not even get 2 points...

If Jovetic was injured, yes. But they'll share game time, and Dzeko isn't on form. Its important to pick nailed-on players now when there's alot of injuries, suspensions, and rotation

    Here's one for you:

Which side have let in 13 goals at home (joint worst in the league), keeping just 1 CS in 8, but only conceded 7 in 7 away games (second best in the league), picking up 4 CS (the joint best record)?

West Brom was the answer. Villa are another side who are defensively stronger on their travels though, was also the case last season. They've conceded 10, with 1 CS at home and conceded 9, with 4 CS away.

    Evening all, quick one..

    Aguero & Cesc »»»»

    A). Costa & Yaya

    B) Dzeko & Hazard

    Both -4

£3.4m saved by doing B) allows me to upgrade chambers to a city Def next week and Marney to a better fifth mid for suspensions/rotations etc..

    1. Ludo
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 7 days ago

A, if you can't bench Cesc.

It's close... I prefer Hazard to Yaya, but not yet convinced on Dzeko's gametime or form, though I do like him as a player.

        Krul
        Duff
        Chambers
        Cesc
        Austin
        Aguero

Although A) looks more attractive I think that B) give me more options to improve my squad as a whole. Even tempted to ditch chambers now for a -8 to San/clichy

I'm actually tempted tbh. Lots of good home games coming up, and 5.7 isn't too much if you've got someone who can cover rotation.

The only worrying thing is that he gets subbed on late in alot of games though

I discuss City's defense above, you might enjoy that read.

I think its safest to stick to Hart, Zaba, or Kompany... and I only say Zab because he never gets subbed late so you can manage his rotation reasonably well.

Hutton's got a couple of good fixtures coming up Creswell will score more over next 10 matches. Depends how long you wanna keep? However, with Wildcard coming up I'd go for Hutton. Also, that way you can save some cash. He might rise due to goal last GW as well so you could make a bit in the short term then decide whether or not to ditch when WWC comes round

Was Kane saved for the weekend?

Just to check if he's not injured as he was not in squad last night.

I'm wondering if he will start behind Soldado again. There are pro & con for him to play that position. He involved more than Soldado, but less big chances he got

    Take -4pts for Kane -> Dzeko ?

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 7 days ago

Yes he was. I don't think that is a good point hit (coming from a Kane owner looking to get rid). I can see him actually getting a start as a lone striker in this one..or at least I'm hoping. Perhaps Poch will favor this route when they play on the road.

I don't, but not out of refusal. Have been looking to get him for a while but yet to materialize.

I don't either. This week was the prime opportunity, but I'm veering towards Yaya instead now.

I have him but if Ramseys stats continue with an upward trend I'll swap

Too expensiove now, not on PK´s, and with Giroud, Ramsey & Welbeck back, his potential decreases.

Don´t forget also Walcoot and Ozil in a few weeks...

Nasri or Eriksen, maybe fixtures and differential sway me towards Nasri.

    Thoughts thanks

What do people think of Giroud as a differential? Proven goalscorer and massive differential to dzeko

Said the same thing the other day and did not get a good response. Not liked so much around these parts.

His stats have been good, and if he had of scored that header against Stoke last weekend i think people would be on him more. Arsenal have been one of the most attacking teams in the comp. So having Giru along with Sanchez/Ramsey makes sense as they should continue to score goals.

However because Giru misses headers like last weekend is what makes him frustrating to own.
