In light of Sergio Aguero’s knee injury, we delve into the data to highlight a number of forwards’ weekend displays. Wilfried Bony and Robin van Persie’s fine form arrives under the spotlight, whilst we also assess Diego Costa’s recent toils for Chelsea. The Gunners’ weekend scorers and Tottenham’s in-form Dane are also amongst this evening’s topics as Fantasy managers look to spend that left over budget from the Aguero fall-out.

What to do with this team!?

    Fabianski - Foster
    Baines - Clyne - Azpi - Taylor - Chambers
    Yaya - Sanchez - Downing - Siggy - Boyd
    Berahino - Rooney - Austin

    3.0ITB, all feedback appreciated.

Berahino -> Bony, no brainer. If you need more money then downgrade Chambers.

Yeah that's pretty good, or you could downgrade Fab to someone cheaper like Pantilimon to raise the money for Bony?

A lot of money in that defence. Downgrade Taylor or Fabianski to Hutton/Yun/Panti and get Bony for Berahino.

Howdy DZ, how'd we all get on so far?

I've had a pretty average week, on 64 with Baines and Yun to come. Could've been so much more had Azpi and Zaba played! Currently holding on to a 15 place green arrow, I might get that lucrative grey arrow tomorrow 😉

Alright my fellow late night FF addicts, any advice on this lot? I'm relatively happy with my starting lineup for next week but the bench, as you can see, is an issue. Particularly with the festive period coming up.

1FT and 0.3 in the bank.

only thing putting me off rvp is that he won't see that many minutes over the xmas period will he with wilson/falcao waiting in the wings?

cannot see him starting all the next three, especially with just two days between the newcastle and spurs games

for that tag you want assured gametime

    1. Atwood
      • 15 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

Agreed. That and the fact that in my opinion, he's been somewhat fortunate to get three goals in the past two games. You could argue both Southampton goals were big defensive errors and todays again was something of a mess up by the Liverpool defence.

I know it doesn't matter because points are points, but I think he's getting a little lucky.

      1. rickardinho
        • 11 Years

Totally open goal and an offside assist... pretty lucky yeah. Can't remember any other big chances today apart from the one that Jones tipped over the bar late on... I don't think his scoring rate is sustainable.

At 12.5m I'd want someone who was MOTM every game, and scaring the living daylights out of non-owners with every touch, like aguero or suarez last season... He was anonymous almost the whole game

        1. Atwood
          • 15 Years
          11 years, 3 months ago

Yup. For that price bracket you want someone who scores high and yet still after the game leaves you thinking, "He could've had one or two more assists with a little luck".

With Van Persie it's the opposite, with a little less luck he could've blanked entirely.

    Sakho Rooney Costa

Not happy with this at all

Rooney deployed too deep yesterday. Do we think Yaya will continue sitting too and might be better off being Sliva/Nasri

I actually like the idea of Yaya>Nasri for next week and putting the (c) on him. Or is that 'sideways' in FF parlance?

    1. rickardinho
      • 11 Years

Not to pick on you, but doesn't it ever occur to people that Yaya was playing in a deep role last season too, when he scored 20 goals? The way City plays, especially at home, means he's in and around the box loads more than your average CM/DM

      1. bigbudgie
        • 11 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

I thought last season he was playing further forward actually, when City needed to win games he was pushed up into the hole or given a license to attack, the position frank lampard had yesterday....I thought with both fernando/inho that Toure might get the same and might move into that position when/if Lampard is rested.

That's just based on my limited knowledge of City

Never applied for part time work.

Depends what type of work it is. I'd imagine that calling first to confirm the vacancy and introduce yourself would make sense, then sending an official email with your CV and asking to meet in person.. varies how informal/formal depending on the job though

For those bigger chains it's usually done through application forms on the website anyway, or at least via email, so you're fine to do it online; your CV might not see the light of day if you hand it in in person. For smaller places it doesn't hurt to make the effort to apply in person though.

            A) Play Siggy in a 3-5-2

Richardinho was championing Mangala earlier on and I've seriously warmed to the idea. Looking at more City coverage and with Komps injury that should make him fairly nailed on.
Too many good mids available to gamble on Nasri or Silva or even Lampshade and there's nothing up front apart from the janitors son.
            Mangala maybe saying hello soon.

Hey mate. I was championing him, and was busy putting together some stat tables showing his attacking potential, but just as I was about to present the case I noticed his 4YC's unfortunately, which is really annoying. Might still be a good option, what do you think?

That is just mental to me. Demi is such a better option over Mangala to me and it's not even close. Not only is Mangala a card away from suspension but he is a crazy person and plays like he has a bonus clause in his contract for injuring opponents or getting red cards.

I'm just going off of what I've seen from him. He looks reckless to me. Different level of competition he is up against with different level of expectations. I can see him growing into a good player he's a physical beast but just too soon for me to consider him in FPL. My view on it, anyways!

                    Fair enough, totally understandable.

But but but.... it says he only has 2 yellows on FPL, bugger.
                Demi's a donkey and on 3 yellows.

the red card vs saints was a straight red, and i think he got a yc earlier that game, along with a YC vs newcaslte in the cup. I too was surprised it said 2yc's in fpl.. was hoping it was an error 😛

Be aware he is on 4 YC currently. He would be my first choice for City defense otherwise.

              "I wouldn't get Mangala, he's a card magnet" - Costa owners

There's a difference between being a card magnet, and sitting on 4YC's though.

It is frustrating me being a Costa owner that he is picking up yellows like there no tomorrow. Becoming more of a turn off week by week.

Out of the two I'd take Demichelis. Mangala seems violent and rash, to put it mildly. Whether Demi's legs can take 4 games in 10 days is another question though. I had Demi for a few weeks last year and he averaged 5 points a game, which isn't bad at all.

With a barge pole mate, with a barge pole 😉

It's down to Clichy or Demi for me if keen on City though
