Granville and I get cosy on a two-seater sofa – within touching distance – just how he likes it.

In truth, my-host is getting too close for comfort: the mini-league gap is down to just 42 points, with Granville relentlessly chiping away at my previously unassailable lead.

We review Gameweek 16’s events, including my oh-so bitter Dzeko pill, before discussing De Gea’s uncanny form, the demise of Leighton Baines and my latest set-to with Jonty: are there better options than Diego Costa up top?

The regulars wrap themselves around that lot, while Granville, thankfully, keeps his hands to himself.

Snuggle up to the noise via this link or get up close and personal via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

currently banking my ft. Bertrand to kolarov looks like so much fun though! Feeling the pressure of maintaining rank is putting me off 🙁

I know I'm going to get trolled for saying this but I tend to ponder these things...

Lets imagine that ShawX breaks Costa's leg on Monday....

Can you picture the chaos on here that would soon follow?

    Armageddon like!

Especially with all these close GWs coming up, Jan wildcard, etc

it could make this season quite memorable!

    Am I 😈 😈 ?

      not really.

If he's out, then I'll have RvP + Aguero + cheapo as my strikers for January WC at ease.

What would you do to this team? 1 FT

    Heaton - Krul
    Duff - Bertrand - Yun - Chambers - Wisdom
    Hazard - Boyd - Siggy - Yaya - Sanchez
    Costa - Rooney - Austin

I agree. The only issue is that it feels a little sideways going from one forward to another in the same team, but the reality is that Rooney is mostly a MF. It makes the decision easier.

It's apples and oranges though Champ. One looks like a deranged mother (?) killing her own kids in their home, the other one was a muslim fanatic holding random people hostage and killing some. Both terrible tragedies, but any country's media would make a big deal of the hostage situation given what is going on around the world with some sick fanatical acts of murder etc.

That is so crass and disrespectful of people who have lost loved ones in that siege. And yes, I know personally of the hurt and how real it is. My daughter is a legal secretary who talks almost daily with the female barrister who died's brother (also a barrister).

I'm not saying real people weren't hurt, and my condolences go out to them and theirs of those who were, I'm just saying that some of those interviewed and those covering the story may not have been what they seem, though that's hard to prove or disprove. Media is a big fat propaganda machine.

And you should be comparing apples with apples. If a non-muslim held 15 people hostage and the media didn't make as big a deal about it as the the Sydney one, you'd have a point.

The only ones pushing the muslim story is the media. Nobody would give a crap about that side of the story if the media didn't spoon feed the masses with it.

For example, instead of saying that its a "politically motivated terror attack" (in the words of the highly repugnant PM Abbott), they could have labelled it as a "lone lunatic"...

For all we know he could be someone not involved in ISIS who wants to spread fear about ISIS to further an agenda (i.e. gun control laws, more troops dispatched to Iraq, more surveillance, etc). Don't you think its an incredible coincidence that after every single school shooting or incident like this, the only ones who seem to benefit from it are the government themselves who are pushing for gun control laws among other things?! 😯

No of course not. I like to look at one simple question: Who benefits? In other words, who has motive? Very often the answers will start presenting themselves very clearly.

Just popped in to ask people's opinions about Balotelli being fined, but this is way better. Totally agree.

If you look closely you'll notice that the Australian government is already rolling out new "anti-terror" legislation that allows more intrusive and blatant (i.e. more "legal") phone-taps and surveillance, as well as cracking down even further on gun-control laws. No doubt they'll start pushing for a larger Australian military presence in the middle east soon too.

Funny how those things get rolled out so quickly following high-profile events, you'd almost think the government had planned them themselves... 🙄

Oh btw, you'll also notice that the Sydney swat teams held drills at the EXACT same location 1 year prior to this incident. I kid you not - google it, searching "sydney false flag" for example.

I don't mean to be patronizing, but I think there's a great deal you're assuming to be "conspiracy theories" simply because you don't understand them yourself and are scared of being ridiculed. I completely accept that you'll mock me for whatever beliefs I may have, but I just implore you to do your own research into the subject, with an open mind of course 🙂

far out so anyone that doesn't buy into your ludicrous theories is lapping up the "mainstream media" story? Just because a government has it's own hidden agenda does not mean it is capable or willing to do anything to make it happen. Sorry but you actually a very simplistic worldview where every chaotic event fits neatly into your conspiracy theory box fully explained. You seem to start with a conclusion of who what was behind something and work backwards twisting the facts to fit your theory. Not that you actually do any of this yourself you just regurgitate it off some tin foil hat blog.

haha no i've read it all before. It's the same shite over and over again so full of massive failures in reasoning. I only ever read that stuff sometimes on the skeptic sites like skeptics guide to the universe or science based medicine because it's hilarious. You are a sheep man that's the funniest part of it. You try so hard not to be yet you just lap up this non sensical rubbish as it's served to you and accept it without doing any critical thinking of your own. Go and do some reading on cognitive biases and then take that knowledge and look inwards. That's my advice

I'm not sure why you think I'm the sheep here, when most of the people ridiculing me are the same people lapping up the mainstream media story that obviously follows the agenda that those who own the media want them to believe.

You laugh at people like me - and I don't mind it one bit - but (hopefully) one day you'll realize just how right some of these alternative media sources really are.

I don't see why there is a failure in reasoning?

              Problem > Reaction > Solution

              1. Problem: "Politically motivated" ISIS hostage attack

              2. Reaction: National outrage

              3. Solution: More severe anti-terror (i.e. anti-freedom) laws, gun control legislation, and more public support for illegal wars.

Yeah I'm not so sure myself. I think that Eriksen's purple patch is hard to ignore though. There may be a chance when I captain Yaya in the coming weeks, but for now, there's just so much uncertainty around that attack that I don't know.

the comparison with that from fg i think was just an example and neither here nor there. The point is the reaction has been unbelievably over the top. Even for today's media climate. And it's not just the media it's large sections of the public here in sydney too. Feeding off each other i guess.

Any of these worth a free?

    A) Siggy->Eriksen
    B) Boyd->Downing (play over Siggy this week, then benching headache)
    C) Siggy->Downing (this feels sideways)

    Front 7 are:

    Yaya-Hazard-Sanchez-Siggy-Boyd
    Costa-Bony-Austin

I've had Eriksen twice already...at the wrong times. I can't think straight on him any more.
