This evening, we roll out the seventh round draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during New Year’s Day’s sixth round ties.

United Nations is fast becoming the manager to beat after clocking up his second prize for scoring the highest number of points in a round. A tally of 69 points has propelled him into 334th position overall, earning him another £25 worth of free bets from Paddy Power and setting him up for a round seven tie with Mince and Tatties. United Nations’ fielding of Harry Kane and Gael Clichy proved crucial to his victory.

The giant-killing accolade of the round goes to Aaron Ramessi. He may be ranked 33,436th overall but he saw off round six’s highest ranked manager Never Trust Lukaku, who is ranked 19th. Aaron Ramessi now faces CMIFLFC in the seventh round.

Other notable round seven ties include Mediocre Men, who knocked Granville out in round five, taking on Momalpashands, and community writer Saata facing up to Wolverine. Jimbojunior drew the short straw and meets round seven’s highest ranked manager Mjfdept, who is 65th overall.

Among the 16 remaining competitors, 13 have a rank within the top 10,000 and four are in the elite top 1,000 group.

The full list of sixth round results can be found here, while the seventh round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

When I WC I lose a lot of TV with each sale. How relevant is this? I have players I want rid but may buy back later, at a higher price.

The biggest thing to weigh in that is how much you think you will want to buy a player back.

sold bertand before bad fixtures. even though i think 5.7 makes sense i keep going back to my original 5.1 and decide not to get.

Yeah I would ignore that trepidation if I were you. Bertrand even if buying at 5.7 is a good pick although I know it sucks that you had him for so cheap.

    Finish the squad? 2FT:

    Guzan
    Baines Terry Wisdom
    Fabregas [-------] Hazard Sanchez
    Austin Benteke [--------]

    Bench: Downing, N. Taylor, Dummet

Essentially which is the best third striker and fifth midfielder for me to have right now?
    Budget is very high!

Crazy as it sounds, I'd like Kane for that third forward slot in your team and keep money in the bank for when Aguero is back (probably to replace Benteke).

Clear dip in form but I still think he's the best cheap fourth mid in the game if you need one to start week in week out. He could have easily been in the points against West Brom he looked decent enough in MOTD highlights to me.

Eriksen is on set pieces which is nice for consistency in ticking over as well as finally having everything running through him. Also seems pretty nailed for 90 while Chadli may be subbed off early. Still just don't trust Chadli despite how good he looked against Chelsea it was only one game. Lamela is still lurking. I'd pay the extra for Eriksen if I were looking at a Spurs mid.

That said, I think it is mental to double up on Spurs attack and I think Kane is too much value to pass up so I will be continuing on with neither for the foreseeable future!

I disagree that doubling up is mental. Both have decent prices and have scored decent points. Spurs' inconsistency will lead to some uneven scores, but what does that matter if over the long haul they outscore similarly priced options?

I don't know. That side is the epitome of inconsistency to me and I don't think they have the firepower week in week out to designate two attacking slots to. Just my view!

Fair, I certainly wouldn't want to captain either, but I'm looking at a double up for the long haul. Last year, Eriksen + Adebayor worked qutie well for spells.

Planning on using my WC at the end of Jan. I would really like to pull Hazard in prior to Newcastle game but I have Terry, Fab and Costa. Would it be worth it to do

Costa/Downing> Ings, Hazard for a -4 until WC at end of Jan?

    Current team:
    Panti, Fabi
    Zab, Terry, Bert, Naylor, Hutton
    Sanchez, Downing, Siggy, Fab, Silva
    Costa, Austin, Kane

I'd rather lose Terry than Costa or Fab. Terry will not keep scoring, Chelsea have looked a little leaky recently and there isn't a mid or striker as consistent than Fab or Costa.

Nah. Coverage isn't really important. At some point, you may want one to three of Sanchez/Walcott/Ramsey/Cazorla/Giroud, but you can easily pick 8 players who don't play for Arsenal who will score good points.

@GB, just remembered the Bavies v Rose dilemma: I'm pretty sure Bavies will start this weekend regardless of who's first choice. No reason for Poch to play Rose twice in 4 days and Bavies would still get the best part of a week off before the PL game (Mon > Sat is like any other week).

16.3 for 2 playing Mids, currently have Hazard, ADM and Boyd

    Ideas

    Chadli & Silva/Sterling/Ramsey
    Tadic & Sterling/Ramsey

Anyone have any other good ideas?

I need to get rid of Bony and am getting Giroud.

problem is I have Demi in my team and Kompany pretty much there and waiting! (not to mention having Zaba too, a double up that didn't pay off)..thoughts?

That striker move still should take precedence.

I thought I wouldn't be caring about it as I sat back on those 24 points!

..which ended up being maybe 2?

Haha yeah. Oh well. But still just move on one transfer at a time...you could always throw up the wildcard a week or two earlier now that it is available.

true though I'd rather wait for transfers to happen, especially as it does look like there are some in the works

No reason to take a hit given you have 3 solid starters without Demi. Do the Giroud move and wait till the next gw for Demi - not much risk in losing value there either

Take the hit next week if you still think you need to (-4 either way). Doubt the replacement you're lining up for Demi is much more likely to get a CS than Hutton/Terry/Zab

I guess we'll find out in the FA Cup! I feel like if Kompany starts this week then Demi may get the nod for Everton as they have Arsenal right after..

no idea though and am fully expecting Demi to be worthless now

Wait and re-evaluate after the Cup then. G'luck! 🙂
PS. I have Clichy so I have no idea what to do either... am playing Hutton over him at present. Is that wise?

I'm now awaiting 2 penalties for Everton and Villa to go wild.

I mean for the prediction websites, made it look like more were due to rise/fall etc 🙂

                WC transfers don't count towards a player rising/falling I don't believe 🙂
Prediction websites I don't think are able to as accurately portray a players potential rise/fall over the WC periods as I think they struggle more to establish exactly how many transfers in/out of a player are due to the WC, if you get me?

Is Yaya to Sanchez the obvious transfer for me?
    Foster - Heaton
    Zaba - Terry - Naylor - Hutton - Yun
    Hazard - Yaya - Eriksen - Downing - Siggy
    Costa - Kane - Austin
