We delve into the Gameweek 20 data this evening and serve up some of the most impressive numbers from New Year’s Day. QPR, Swansea, Aston Villa and Man City’s strikers arrive under the radar, whilst we also cast an analytical eye over in-form midfielders from Spurs, Leicester and West Brom.

I feel I'm quite set on my WC team but only have 0.1m ITB if anyone rises/falls. Is it worth playing my WC earlier than expected to ensure I can get the team I want or just wait until the end of January to see transfers/form players etc. and changing my team around?

If you set then go for it. Of course by next week you will want a different team 😉

base your wildcard decision on your current team's ability. don't wildcard a good team just to swap things around if you ask me

I just don't want to wait until the end of January and not have enough money to have the WC team I want because players have risen as others do their teams..

The only thing I'm really waiting on is Aguero but I can have Costa until he comes back..

    Chelsea must have Jan WC:

    A) Fab, Haz and Costa
    B) Terry, Haz and Costa
    C) Terry, Fab and Haz

    1. Jay_
      11 years, 6 months ago

Haz is the only must imo
Any 2 of Costa Fab Defender after that
Getting that 2 right will determine your rank end of season

I went anti-FFS last week with Costa ➡ Rooney. Weird I know, but it sets my team well for January and no matter who it is, it's just gonna be a placeholder for Kun.

I'm looking at the same front 8. I'd say it's a good team, mate. What do you see in the expensive rotation, also?

        1. Jay_
          11 years, 6 months ago

I see that Trippier and PVA is enough for the BUR SUN wonder run of 6 cracking homes , I had Heaton too but was turned off on here of BUR double up , United have cracking fixtures and DDG is the only reliable way into their tightening up defense , When fixtures turn for United will downgrade to Mannone to release more funds , should have 2ft alot because won't be needing to make any transfer,

(LIV, tot, BUR) Not the best of fixtures sure, but starting from Gw23 & onward. Sunderland have exceptional fixtures.

Either way it mattesr little their individual fixtures seeing as that's where Hutton + Wisdom come in, they cover his set-backs. He'll be playing one of them each GW I'm certain so from now until the end.

they both likely not CS's so Bertrand is sure to play 90--both attack so I see the dilemma.

Don't think Fab or Di Maria are quite on that level, although they're very good options. I also wonder if you don't already have Sanchez if he's worth his pricetag, especially with Ramsey/Walcott returning to fitness, but for the moment he and Haz are bolted into my team.

Cheers , Chadli will mostly stay on bench , just adequate cover should Chelsea rest or rotate through busy period

His potential for points (that you will bench) will hurt like mad tho

Surely you cant bench him for next 3?

          1. Jay_
            11 years, 6 months ago

I'm thinking of playing him over AdM this week ( RMT agrees 😀 ) and then will just bench him anyway ( or toss up between him and Ings next 2) and he may well be called upon anyway ( Sanchez / Hazard rest )

          • 13 Years

His next 3 games are very playable. You'll have a benching headache. Plus you mentioned that he'd be adequate cover for CHE players, but then if CHE & TOT make it to the COC later stages, you'd probably have players from both team missing.

Great team, but If it's my team I will do Chadli -> Boyd (for the lovely immediate fix) and bank a little.

          1. Jay_
            11 years, 6 months ago

Thanks for the feedback , I can do that , I would feel safer with Chadli as first sub rather than Boyd , and I don't really need money itb as RVP is Kun placeholder

I realized that about RVP, but then you might be tempted to upgrade Ings later on, or someone else. Just my 2 cents.

    Thoughts on this draft?

    Heaton, Pantilimon
    Terry, Bertrand, Naylor, Hutton, Wisdom
Sanchez, Hazard, Fabregas, Di Maria, Walters
    Aguero, Ings, Kane

    1. Jay_
      11 years, 6 months ago

Very nice , Walters is not that good of a 5th mid , may as well have Boyd if your not gonna have a Downing / Chadli imo, could downgrade Bertie to Alderweid or Walters to Boyd to gain funds

I think I would prefer PVA and Lescott than Naylor and Wisdom ( more attacking threat )

Next 4 fixtures, 3 good homes, then can easily be swapped to Berahino gw25 coinciding with WBA good fixtures or end of transfer window move to LIV

Chadli is looking a good buy for the next two games before a lot of us plan to WC.

Would you offload any of these 5 to bring him in though?

    Hazard, Sanchez, Silva, Eriksen, Downing
    Costa, Kane, Austin

    Bank 0.1m, 2 FT

I wouldn't triple up on Spurs, so I say lose Eriksen. That could backfire badly, though.

You already have 2 TOT attack so I'd pass.

Maybe Downing if you insist but I'm giving him one last shot (vs Hull) before I WC. Bad fixtures coming up.

  28. RoyaleBlue

Ok here are my thoughts and what I'm settling for(albeit for now and may tinker as everyone does) on my wildcard:

Foster Panti (Not bad rotation, Panti has looked good recently and the Pulis factor for Foster)
Terry Clichy Cresswell Wisdom Dummett (A bit expensive I know)
    Hazard Silva Sanchez Siggy Boyd
    Austin Rooney Kane

With 3.1 mil ITB to upgrade Rooney to Aguero when the time comes and to alter anything later on.

    thoughta?

I don't think you need 3.1 for Kun. That's too much.
