Granville and I make a New Year return to the ScoutCast studio, battered and bruised by the events of Gameweek 20 which saw us both inexplicably bench Harry Kane and his 18-point haul.

Having wasted our big differential and haunted by constant reminders, my co-host and I struggle to make a recovery. Spitting the pips from our sour grapes, we do our best to justify our doomed decision-making, before attempting to salve the wounds with talk of the Winter Wildcard refresh around the usual batch of regulars.

Feel the frustration via this link or swallow the bitter pill via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Aguero comes on for 20min, gets an assist, goal, or both.

    A) Wildcard immediately
    B) Silva + Costa > Aguero + Cesc (-4)

    Kane Austin other strikers.

          1.Get rid of deadwood(Baines/Duff)
          2. Get a second keeper(I've had only Heaton since GW 4)
          3. Kun
          4. Possible sell Austin

No - double CHS is overdoing it with cheaper options about. Zaba is certainly living on borrowed time though.

    Repost

    A) Hart -> Heaton
    B) Zaba -> Trippier/Debuchy

Both leave enough cash for Silva/Austin -> Boyd/Kun next week. Planning to WC after GW22 so only 2 games to consider, but with my defence looking poor next week I'd probably need to start whichever defender I bring in this week for the next 2 weeks.

    Hart
    Terry, Zaba, Wisdom
    Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Eriksen
    Costa, Austin, Kane

    Elliot, Downing, Hutton, Chambers
    Bank 0.1m, 2 FT

RE: Kun placeholder for WC, with City next 2 fixtures after this gameweek being 'ARS' home and 'che' away, even if his fit for ARS, would you bring him in then , or wait until after the Chelsea game ?

Reason I ask is I'm not sure who to go for now for the placeholder, Giroud is good for a 1 week punt (STK) home, but then has City away, RVP is tricky this week vs SOT home but then has 2 easy games after (qpr)away and then LEI home

So basically Giroud for 1 week then get Kun next week ? Or RVP get 3 decent fixtures and give Kun time to settle in and warm up ?

It depends on how your cash is spread around. You could be chasing your tail for weeks trying to reallocate funds where you want them, whereas you can do it in one fell swoop with the WC. I want to assess the likes of Walcott and perhaps Sturridge before I play mine.

Guardians Of The Galaxy by quite a distance... Nightcrawler and The Babadook were two others I really liked. Interstellar, Xmen Days Of Future Past and Winter Solider were all pretty good too.

Ok I’m going to say it. Valdes arrival has me itchy about De Gea. I know I’m going to get the why questions but he played for Barcelona and he has won basically everything.

          Not if you have Austin.

Maybe if you don't have Austin. having 2 striker spots depending on QPR and Burnley attack isn't that wise personally.

        Eriksen v Cesc
same deep role, bonus magnet, on set piece
Eriksen has better fixtures, cheaper, help us solve 3 Chelsea players quota (Chelsea def, Haz, Costa)

Its all about the budget. I agree with you and if Aguero were fit it would enhance your opinion.
Chadli and Kane should be enough Spurs men without Eriksen.

I ve had Eriksen for a month now. The stats on FFS are spot on. If Chadli plays, Eriksen's output reduces by a huge margin. Mainly because silly Chadli is always inside the box before anyone else. I am thinking of doing Eriksen to Chadli when I wildcard.

          Hutton.

Not sure if Wisdom is nailed on, but if he is and WBA start getting more clean sheets, his value will go up while others most probably will do Hutton>Wisdom trade.

Baines out would be the logical choice, but there aren't many solid cleansheets around. A manu/arsenal defender is just hit and miss though both look good for a cs.

i have Barnes as a forward bencher for 3 weeks.
ADM a risk and Barnes to cover.
RVP in until Aguero but only after Chelsea game.

        Resulting in:
        ADM Fab Haz Chadli Sanchez
        Kane RVP (Barnes)

Question for members, does anyone know how rate my team works in terms of benching players and captains? For example, Sanchez has a higher predicted score than Haz this week, but RMT still tells me to captain Haz. Similarly, Hutton has a higher predicted score than Chambers, but it suggests playing Chambers over Hutton.
