Granville and I make a New Year return to the ScoutCast studio, battered and bruised by the events of Gameweek 20 which saw us both inexplicably bench Harry Kane and his 18-point haul.

Having wasted our big differential and haunted by constant reminders, my co-host and I struggle to make a recovery. Spitting the pips from our sour grapes, we do our best to justify our doomed decision-making, before attempting to salve the wounds with talk of the Winter Wildcard refresh around the usual batch of regulars.

Feel the frustration via this link or swallow the bitter pill via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

For the same price would you rather have on WC:

    A) Costa + Boyd
    B) Austin + Fab

Interesting. I've seen a few teams which boil down to this question and now I find myself in the same boat.

I am leaning towards B because I like to have the flex of 8 forwards I can call on, but am nervous about not having Costa, as always!

Any thoughts on my wildcard team:

    Heaton (Forster)
Azpi / Hutton / Naylor (Debuchy, Bertrand)
Sanchez / Fab / Sterling / Siggy (Chadli)
    Falcao / Giroud / Kane

    Cheers

    A) Hart -> Heaton
    B) Zaba -> Trippier/Debuchy

Both leave enough cash for Silva/Austin -> Boyd/Kun next week.

Planning to WC after GW22 so only 2 games to consider, but with my defence looking poor next week I'd probably need to start whichever defender I bring in this week for the next 2 weeks.

Can't help thinking "but it's Burnley". Whatcha reckon?

    Hart
    Terry, Zaba, Wisdom
    Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Eriksen
    Costa, Austin, Kane

    Elliot, Downing, Hutton, Chambers
    Bank 0.1m, 2 FT

Only 2 weeks so just get Heaton in. Wouldn't keep a Burnley defender once you wildcard.

    Hi,

    GTG with this WC-team?

    Pantilimon (Heaton)
    Wisdom, Terry, Hutton (Bruce, Alderweireld)
    Fabregas, Hazard, Sanchez, ADM (Chadli)
    Aguero (Falcao stunt), Kane, Ings

    Thoughts appreciated!

Isn't Bruce stunting for Rosenior who is out 'til at least april? I don't have any spare money to use on defence... Otherwise can't do Falcao - Aguero next GW...

Also having a little second thoughts about Falcao. Might instead go for Giroud against Stoke.

RE: Kun placeholder for WC, with City next 2 fixtures after this gameweek being 'ARS' home and 'che' away, even if his fit for ARS, would you bring him in then , or wait until after the Chelsea game ?

Reason I ask is I'm not sure who to go for now for the placeholder, Giroud is good for a 1 week punt (STK) home, but then has City away, RVP is tricky this week vs SOT home but then has 2 easy games after (qpr)away and then LEI home

So basically Giroud for 1 week then get Kun next week ? Or RVP get 3 decent fixtures and give Kun time to settle in and warm up ?

Enjoyed Interstellar for its range rather than its execution.

Boyhood. The Imitation Game comes close, majorly because of Cummerbatch's performance.

Guardians Of The Galaxy by quite a distance... Nightcrawler and The Babadook were two others I really liked. Interstellar, Xmen Days Of Future Past and Winter Solider were all pretty good too.

Gone Girl. Closely followed by Whiplash and Boyhood. Really looking forward to seeing Birdman.

I agree that the ending was the weakest part of the film, loved it overall though.

Ok I’m going to say it. Valdes arrival has me itchy about De Gea. I know I’m going to get the why questions but he played for Barcelona and he has won basically everything.

I could have been in goal in that team and won everything 🙂

I am worrying it's the start of de gea leaving to Madrid
Would be gutting and again show a lack of player loyalty if he did mind after Fergie stuck by him and saw his potential

Dude, loyalty??? What fan earth do you live on, they want him gone just as bad if it finances one of their fanciful big-money swoops ie; Bale, Cristiano R, etc...
