This evening, we roll out the quarter-final draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the seventh round ties.

With a score of 93 points, 66irons emerged from round seven as the top scoring manager, with his decision to captain Alexis Sanchez proving key. He earns himself £25 worth of free bets from Paddy Power and will now face bobbyg in the last eight.

United Nations, who has two top Gameweek score prizes already during the tournament and sits in 383rd spot overall, marches on. He now squares up to Harts Hotspurs, who is ranked 243,341 places behind his weekend opponent.

The highest ranked manager left in the competition is 73rd placed mjfdept, who faces 780th ranked Momalpashands in round eight. The remaining eighth round tie will see Wolverine take on CMIFLFC. This is another close encounter with just 528 places separating the pair.

Among our remaining eight contenders mjfdept is the only one wielding his winter wildcard this week, with the rest still to play it.

The full list of seventh round results can be found here, while the eighth round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

I hope you have ALOT of money ITB to uprgade those strikers when the time comes.

I'd sell Baines get Hutton or Wisdom/Baird and have some money available.

    Hi Guys,
Any thoughts on my WC team - have had a bad few GW's so need some help!!

    Hamer / Panti
    Baines / Terry / Bert / Wisdom / Wasil
    Hazard / Fabregas / Sanchez / Chadlin / Puncheon
    Aguero / Kane / Berahino

Plan would be to rotate Berahino / Puncheon most weeks.

    Cheers.

Just wild carded myself and went with this...

      Pants (Hamer)
      Terry Bertand VanAanholt (Janmaat Bruce)
      Silva Hazard Sanchez Downing (Markovic)
      Kane Austin Aguero

Markovic looks like a good differential if LFC stays with the 3/4/3
I'll end up swapping out Downing and Austin, but they look like they could still rise so sticking with them for now.

If you look at Berahino closely I don't think he has near the consistency needed week to week and you can't really guess when to play him.

Huge competition for a premium slot.

    Should i WC this team?

    Guzan / McCharty
    Baines / Azpi / Kolarov / Hutton / Wisdom

    Aguero / Kane / Austin

    1ft, 3.1 itb

no. You have Aguero, Sanchez, Hazard.
And as far as I can tell 3 starting defenders. Hutton and Wisdom could both get returns.
You could take a 1 week punt on Azpi - maybe Cresswell in?

Not sure what to do on Aguero

will be on wc on Saturday so can get him then, but probably for a higher cost. But I can't help thinking that shifting Kolarov/Mangala to Cresswell and Yaya to anyone will yield more points than Yaya and Rooney to ADM and Aguero

    Thoughts?

I would wait for more news on rvp situation, we could perhaps see rooney play up front next couple which would make him worth it for now. Of course mangala/kolarov and holding yaya is a worry.

Maybe yaya to adm or kolarov/mangala to creswell only?

Doesn't help that United didn't try anything else than passing it to the wing and crossing it into the box, for having such good attacking players you very rarely see good attacking displays from them

i was surprised at how much they tried to do that as well. Esp against such a well drilled Saints side.

They need people to run at defenders in the middle of the park; something ADM can do.

On WC and i think i'll be getting ADM purely for his fixtures. If Man U continue to struggle against qpr + LEI then i'll hope to get Silva back for HULL.

I'm not planning to play my WC now, maybe next GW. I have to spend the 2FT, especially with Aguero's price rising.

    Heaton, Mannone
    Clyne, Ivanovic, Wisdom, Hutton, OShea
    Downing, Siggy, Sanchez, Hazard, Boyd
    Austin Costa Rooney

    2FT, £1.0 ITB
    A) Ivan & Rooney => Aguero & Cahill/Bertrand
    B) Rooney & Siggy => Aguero & Puncheon
    C) Rooney & Siggy => Kane & Di Maria

Leaning towards B, but I can't sell Siggy for a premium midfielder if I bring Kun in. I like the Puncheon punt for the next fixtures. Also if I sell Rooney then no United cover against QPR...

    wc activated

    foster/heaton
    PVA, Clyne, Bertrand, Wisdom, Trippier
    Boyd, Downing, Hazard, Silva, Sanchez
    Austin, Aguero, Kane

    0 ITB

was thinking of putting in di maria in for silva with his good fixtures coming out but now i can do a straight up swap with ADM the increase in his price.

Should I get in silva for ADM and downgrade pva to a cheaper defender?

or wait and see how ADM does after this week.

Soon you'll want to lose Downing. Probably get the one you want for longer.

It's still not a bad side and at least you wouldn't bench many points.

Do prefer the 1st aside from that though.

First glance, what's your gut reaction:

    a) FoRster, Gardos, Wisdom, [PVA], Silva, [Aguero]

    b) Panti, Bertrand, Baird, [PVA], ADM, [Aguero]

[bracketted players are just for context]

damn it. the straight split. Would like ADM for the next 2...and worried about Gardos only getting 2 weeks before Yoshida back. That said, with Forster in goal, it matters a little less. Wisdom also more nailed than Baird.

        Hmmm. Tough one.

Interesting RE; Foster over Panti...aren't SUN's fixtures that little bit friendlier? Maybe i'm expecting too much from Gus and the gang.

Is doubling up on WHU defence just for next GW utterly insane? Hull at home, Jelavić and Hernandez both ruled out.

Cresswell already there. Rest of the team looks decent and I'm indeed wildcarding next week. Thinking about Guzan -> Adrian.

Forsters looks like safer bet though as soton defence is becoming template again. Meh, I guess I'm never gonna win if I don't risk.

2 has to play. 1 due to ownership.
Puncheon is a punt so it's the risk you take when bringing him in.

i just bought him actually n he is the one creating the problem as agnst burnley looks tempting as pardew will play attacking football as he showed agnst spurs!!.....so want to bench either Kane or Austin for him to play..... 😀
