This evening, we roll out the quarter-final draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the seventh round ties.

With a score of 93 points, 66irons emerged from round seven as the top scoring manager, with his decision to captain Alexis Sanchez proving key. He earns himself £25 worth of free bets from Paddy Power and will now face bobbyg in the last eight.

United Nations, who has two top Gameweek score prizes already during the tournament and sits in 383rd spot overall, marches on. He now squares up to Harts Hotspurs, who is ranked 243,341 places behind his weekend opponent.

The highest ranked manager left in the competition is 73rd placed mjfdept, who faces 780th ranked Momalpashands in round eight. The remaining eighth round tie will see Wolverine take on CMIFLFC. This is another close encounter with just 528 places separating the pair.

Among our remaining eight contenders mjfdept is the only one wielding his winter wildcard this week, with the rest still to play it.

The full list of seventh round results can be found here, while the eighth round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

    Too cheap and cheerful?

    Panti, Heaton
    Bertrand, Wisdom, Hutton, Wasi, PvA

        I suppose.

        Got Terry now but was just looking for near cert cheap defenders to allow ADM + Costa or Fab + Rooney.

          couldnt you save a little on the keeper rotation? I'm tempted just to get Panti and a 4m and be done with it. He should get save points + SUn should pop up with the odd away CS.

          for what it's worth; i think i'm going to be able to crowbar: Terry, Bertrand, ADM + Costa in.

    Pant
    Jenko Cahill Bertrand
    Sanchez Hazard ADM Boyd
    Austin Costa Giroud

    Bench: Green, Hutton, Siggy, Widsom

    0FT, 1.2 ITB

    G2G or play WC?

    Thanks

    What to do with 2 FT's, 2.1 ITB ?

    Hart / Elliot
    Zabaleta, Azpilicueta, Hutton, Wisdom, Wasilewski
    Sanchez, Hazard, Di Maria, Sigurdsson, Downing
    Costa, Austin, Kane

    My defense is very poor for the next GW...
    Zabaleta brought me 0 points in the 2 weeks I played him, Hart was also a fail...
    Should I buy Aguero ASAP ?

    I've a few options:
    A Di Maria (he was poor) + Austin ---> Boyd + Aguero
    B Zabaleta + Siggy + Austin ---> 4.0 Def + Boyd + Aguero (-4)
    C Zabaleta ---> Baines (He could come back after his dry spell)
    D Zabaleta + Azpi ---> Baines + Terry

    Arsenal poised to complete £2.4m deal for Legia Warsaw’s Krystian Bielik

    Bielik, who is 6ft 2in and can also play at centre-half, will join up with Arsenal immediately, rather than returning to Legia on a loan-back arrangement for the remainder of the season.

    I've had another look

    Siggy's run from GW24 actually looks better then I thought, but there's one or 2 games I think he'd be worth rotating out

    How much of a risk is it? I'd likely have to upgrade Boyd to a Puncheon/Moses type to make it work

      With DGWs/blanks to come I'm a big advocate that means 'supporter of' doesn't it?) Rotating gks. Or at least 2 playing ones. If you really can't stretch to it O think you might as well just go for a 4m.

      I'd go with the 4.0 keeper as if panti gets injured it's just as likely to be in training and then u can use your FT to bring in Mann one.

      There's a good chance Panti will play the rest of the season and you'll have spent .2 for nothing

    I'm not planning to play my WC now, maybe next GW. I have to spend the 2FT, especially with Aguero's price rising.

    Heaton, Mannone
    Clyne, Ivanovic, Wisdom, Hutton, OShea
    Downing, Siggy, Sanchez, Hazard, Boyd
    Austin Costa Rooney

    2FT, £1.0 ITB
    A) Ivan & Rooney => Aguero & Cahill/Bertrand
    B) Rooney & Siggy => Aguero & Puncheon
    C) Rooney & Siggy => Kane & DiMaria

    Leaning towards B, but I can't sell Siggy for a premium midfielder if I bring Kun in. I like the Puncheon punt for the next fixtures. Also if I sell Rooney then no United cover against QPR...

    A) Wisdom Foster and Myhill or
    B) Wisdom Foster and Baind

    For me Baird is first choice and could be bargain of the second half of the season. But is the risk Foster to get injury too high? I will sell Foster till the end of season when they got diffciult fixtures anyway so Myhill won't be cover again.

    Thoughts.?
    P.S. Ofcourse I will wait one more week to be decisive on Bairdwagon but he started 3 in a row, that is good enough for me

    Appreciated highly

      Siggy, Chadli, Downing

      I enjoyed a good spell with Mirallas but his game time is too inconsistent

      Walcott (in time)
      Mata (as long as he starts)
      Tadic

      Sterling being a contender if he picks up form again.

        Yeah if Mata and Wally were nailed on and fully fit they'd be strong contenders

      Mirallas is so annoying to own, when he starts though he's fun to watch as an owner. Just blasting shots left right and centre

    Question to ya all,

    I want to bring Sterling in because of the fixtures and the break he has had plus their fortunes must be on the turn, but fot whom
    Sterling to replace Di Maria/Silva

        Bit of both really but that doesnt apply to sterling, so i was purely going on fixtures and the fact he will be playing striker roll and had a break.

      I wouldn't until we see when Sturridge is back and if they are gelling again.

      Not mad about Pool's fixtures either.

    Who goes through in the Cup tonight between West Ham and Everton?

    Also who would you get for FF games that include the Cup scores?
    It needs to be for the season or at least 8-10 weeks, due to limited transfers.
