The Premier League have confirmed the first double Gameweek of the season earlier this afternoon. QPR’s home clash against Spurs, which was originally scheduled for Sunday March 1, has been cancelled due to the latter’s progress to the Capital One Cup Final on the same day.

The date has now been moved to Saturday March 7, with both clubs already out of the FA Cup. This means that QPR and Spurs have a blank Gameweek 27 but then follow this up with a double Gameweek 28 – Spurs will host Swansea on Wednesday, March 4, before heading to Loftus Road three days later, whilst the R’s entertain Arsenal prior to playing host to their north London rivals.

Today’s news may persuade non-Tottenham owners to steer clear for now. Mauricio Pochettino’s side face West Brom, Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham in the next four and with a blank to follow their Hammers showdown, it may well be that we turn our attentions away from the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli until Gameweek 28, when the fixtures take a turn for the better.

Charlie Austin’s short-term prospects are also questionable. The travel-sick R’s face three road trips in four (sto, SOT, sun, hul) before their blank, and whilst his home clashes with Arsenal and Spurs may deter some, it’s worth noting he’s notched against four of the top five already this season and can clearly deliver regardless of fixture.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Sanchez being doubtful is a real kick in the teeth. Feels like my team is already in disarray, just one week after WC-ing...

I'm WCing this week and I think I'll keep him through it. Would save transferring him back in next week.

        I'm definitely keeping him.

The problem is that if Boyd comes off the bench for him, I might need to take a hit to remove Chadli.

FT will be used on Costa, and my other two bench players are major concerns - Chambers (ill-advised punt) and Wasilewski (should've found the money for someone better).

The appeal is a good thing since an extra game will be added due to the frivolous nature of the appeal mean we won't have to worry about getting him back for the juicy home fixture with Burnley

How can he win an appeal where he clearly stamps on him and he also stamped on Skrtel which they let slide?

The fact that Henderson should have gone or Chelsea had a pen doesn't justify his violent conduct, his reputation won't help his case.

other point is he's only 2 yellows from a 2 game ban so he could end up missing 6 games out of the next 9/10 games.

Is it worth wildcarding for these changes?

Keep: Hazard, Sanchez, Eriksen, Boyd, Austin

Transfer IN: Aguero, Giroud, Puncheon, De Gea, Azpi, PVA, Clyne, Kosc, Kompany

Transfer OUT: Costa, Kane, Silva, Lloris, Vlaar, Jenkinson, Naylor, Baines, Zaba

Arsene Wenger confirms that Alexis Sanchez has a hamstring injury and will be assessed the day before the game this weekend. #AFC

Hamstring injury, "might" be fit for sunday was wengers words. Which would mean its not to serious. Probably wont play because of the strength of depth they have and taking no risks against a poor villa

Been out of the loop for a while. What's the news about Chadli? And is it too early for Sturridge? Cheers!

Chadli's father passed away, hasnt trained this week so might not be sharp enough to play. Probably not mentally fit enough to either

A relative of Chadli has died, so he was away. Back in training though and available for selection now.

Sturridge could be on the bench this weekend, but still too soon IMO.

Fellas wht to do with this team?

    Panti
    Jones, PVA, Skrtel
    Hazard, Cesc, Sanchez ADM Chadli
    Kun, Kane, Bojan

    Foster, Trippier ,Alder , Bojan

    1FT.

    Thinkink of doing either -

    A) Cesc + Bojan > Walters + Giroud(-4)

    or,

    B) Cesc > Theo or, Chadli > Walters

WHM with song/jenkinson/tomkins/collins all doubts.. and with Sturridge probably back(and if not then one last hurrah @ being OOP) followed by clashes with everton and TOT with usually spells goals and i'm very tempted by Sterling!
