On a wildcard and getting nervous with the Sanchez issue... Sanchez out to Cazorla and Oscar good move or not? Have Silva and Hazard too

Surely they will do this. Pelle's favored formation. They can steamroll teams in a 442 with that quality. Nasri Bony and Yaya in for Fernando Milner and Navas.....the potential for goals is scary.

Hmm. Someone's got to provide the assists though... I think you might be right though. No harm in getting Silva in for now, then reacting if that turns out to be the case later on.

Silva don't forget always a perennial underachiever for FPL. He will surely chip in with the assists here and there but when they are firing with two strikers he just doesn't score enough to be worth his price. How quickly we forget 😉

Oh I agree. I haven't had him all season - had no interest in him after he went on in his little scoring run because of his past history. Still, the guy ticks over with the points - that's all I'm looking for.

I think Sturridge will score more. But given their respective fixtures, and Giroud's tendency to pick up the odd assist as well as his goals, I don't think there'll be enough in it to justify the 3m extra for Sturridge.

        2013-14 Palace pre-Pulis: 10 game 9 defeats 0 clean sheets
2013-14 with Pulis: 28 games 10 defeats 12 clean sheets

He turned a team that couldn't defend into a rock. WBA already had some defensive aptitude. They'll get their fair share of shut-outs between now and GW 33. I'd be planning an exit strategy after that though. 😉

Haven't kept an eye on FPL today, so my question was probably asked before a hundred times, but:

Ended up with Kane on the bench so I'd like Alexis to miss the game.

He could well be on the bench....but I am feeling that he will go back to the 4141 against such weak opposition. If he does this I think the last name on the team sheet will be between Rosicky and Ramsey. Walcott should get the nod on the wing in this case. If he goes 4231 and he will continue to try that out then Walcott may well miss out with Rosicky in. Very tough to call.

Cheers Walsh, curious to hear your thoughts on this. What's your opinion on going sans a Chelsea defender and replacing with Belerina or possibly Kosc? It may be daft since I got him at 6.3m and has served me well, but there may be less value to be had in him now, it's also another headache for the blank GW. Imagine Zouma nailing a spot 😯

Arsenal, United and Saints all solid bets for cleanies imo

I've gone without Chelsea defense myself, so that just about gives you my opinion. I too had Terry at 6.3 and didn't really feel bad losing him. Koscielny I think has a higher points potential from now until the end of the season with his fixtures and bap potential and I feel like I already got Terry's goals so I wasn't too bothered with losing him. I'm not as sold on United's clean sheet potential as I just feel like I see a worldie save from DDG almost weekly and that can't continue. I also hate all of their defenders, so there is that. I think Bellerin is a risk too far...don't want to sweat team sheets with my defenders when the risk of having to play one of the subs when they have a bad fixture is an almost assured one or two pointer. I also like a bit of a differential and to mix up my team from all the other template ones 🙂

Good thinking, and aye Kosc offers very similar threat and could come golden throughout the end of the season. Arsenal are a tough nut to crack, they've still conceded very few goals fwiw. Completely forgot about the BAPs part, the man's a magnet 😯 .

Yeah, I have a feeling I'll be outta my seat every United game, they have a solid backline in general but they're so prone to that one useless-irrelevant conceded goal in stoppage time. If only LvG would have a clear shape in mind, their defense still hasn't had the time to gel and work off together in a large-span of time and it would really pay off if their defenders could all stay fit for a few weeks straight.

Aye, Zouma and Belerina fall into that Cameron/Baird trap of it being to good to be true. Seems inevitable, yet the fruit is there and ready to be picked from the naughty, it could be ripe or rotten. Early bird gets the worm, yet one should evade defensive transfers right now with DGW's coming into play.

Have similar thoughts on JT in the sense I've been put off with many having him now and his ownership has skyrocketed. At the 50k mark, I could use a cheeky differential in the back and with JT at 6.5 for me, perhaps it'd be better to bank the prophets and run while reinvesting the funds up top. JT to Kosc could be golden.

I think you've cleared my mind here Walsh, as always mate, thanks for the sound advice eh.

So what does everyone think of Zouma? I know he's a risk but the prospect of owning a Chelsea defender at 4.6 sounds too tempting + he was brilliant today

He was quite good. It's a risk, much like getting Bellerin is I think, but could be well worth it even if he gets rotated provided you have good enough cover and he is your fifth defender.

He is played against quick attackers. Against Stoke for example he will not play.

That is fair, but with his pace it looks like he has a much higher ceiling than what Cahill is offering. And alongside old man Terry back there the pace is more valuable regardless of opposition I feel like to a degree.

Exactly, Zouma is the perfect partner for Terry. Would Mou rotate the CB pairing heavily though? I know he prefers to have a rather settled back four, and Cahill has been dire this season. Zouma could be THAT guy

I agree with you assessment just sort of offering a counter-point. Think he will be rotated and I tend to avoid any defender who may be rotated regardless of anything else.

He's brilliant. He won't play every game though - Mourinho would still trust Cahill more against an opposition target man, and Chelsea spots are gold-dust, unfortunately.

Good option as long as your bench players are sound and not also prone to too much rotation.

As a rule of thumb, one should know what they're getting into going for a defender like him. If it's too good to be true..

Would still love him to start more often, Cahill isn't cutting it but Mou may very well trust Cahill to finish out the season. Next season may be his time, let's all hope not 😉

Rubert has a good point though, perhaps this a risk too far with the DGW's coming into play. Better to plan for that than having a nuisance of a defensive transfer haunting your progress

Think the second half could be better, but not a fantastic pick.

I'd say Sturridge, and Fabregas are up there. Fabregas for the pure consistency, in a draft game that's gold. By the end of the season he would be one of your most valuable players.

They've been down there all season pretty much too. Wouldn't say it's all or mostly down to Lewa leaving as they can still look brilliant going forward, particularly when Reus/Aubameyang are available...

I don't think Lewandowski has too much to do with it.

As always in these situations, the main thing is confidence, and getting into the habit of losing, rather than the habit of winning. It's very hard to stop the slide after a couple of weeks of bad results. They've made individual mistakes at the back at wrong times, and that's cost them.

The main thing for me though, is their intense style of play - I simply think that they're burnt out. They've had a very small squad in each of the last few seasons, and last seasons' injury disaster has continued in this one. After the World Cup, all this has added up, and they simply don't seem to have the fitness and motivation to keep up pressing the way they used to - a really high amount of their goals conceded have been in the latter stages of games.

For Klopp's vision to work, you need 11 totally committed players, running their socks of every match. The more you have success, players get more of an ego, they get complacent, and it gets more and more difficult to keep that up.
